Camphoreon City was a bustling place on this particular evening, trainers all around, challenging one another, trading poke'mon or goods. The energy filled Aurora up as she walked between countless shops, and brushed past many a trainer. There was suddenly a cooing sound coming from her back. A Cyndaquil named Tobias, her only Poke'mon, leaned this way and that as it surveyed the scene, just as excited as his trainer was.
But Aurora did not come here for the shops or the battling... she came with a much more sinister intent.
Just then, a young man passed her, whistling a tune as he flashed a full set of poke'balls on his belt. Aurora's heart jumped. This would be her chance.
Quickly and as inconspicuously as she could, Aurora brushed her hair and straightened up her tight fitting, black sweater as best she could. With the lick of her lips she walked briskly, swaying her hips as she went to pass him. It was obvious that she had caught his attention. He turned to her as she passed and sped up to her side.
"Hey blondie, where are you going? Oh what a nice Cyndaquil you have," He added, a failed attempt on his part to try and relate to her she thought. How pathetic.
Her Cyndaquil simply turned his head to his owner and smiled impishly. The plan was set in motion. She had tried this countless times before and succeeded in some cases. Whatever Poke'mon he had were probably quite strong and could be sold at a pretty penny...
As they continued to walk together, her Cyndaquil Tobias slid further and further down her back, its tiny arms reaching out to the trainers belt. There was a snap as the belt released a ball into its little hands. They got it!
Aurora broke into a run, turned and winked at the boy, "See ya!"
She though she'd made it as she turned down an alley, but that was when she realized her mistake. She was trapped at a dead end! Just then there was a fierce stomping sound running up from behind her. Aurora turned around tentatively, her Cyndaquil holding the stolen Pokemon to it's chest just behind her head.
There was a Blastoise, and a huge one at that. And to Aurora's disdain, the boy was standing beside it with his finger pointed at them. "Give that back or my Blastoise will soak and bruise you both!"
"Blastoise!" Its called, lowering its cannons to their level.
They were done for!

"Neva, take em' down!" Suddenly, a Flareon bounded at an incredible speed between the space of the cornered thief and the rather upset trainer. It's hair bristled on end and it growled in a warning as to say, "Back away jerkwad!" There was certainly a horrendous type difference going on here, a fire against a water . . . Sorano knew this just by common knowledge. However, the woman -- whether she was just a petty thief or a member of TR -- was in definite trouble. She'd be seriously hurt is she was hit with a water blast by a Blastoise at such close range and Sorano wasn't a man to leave a damsel in distress. From above (somehow), Sorano dropped down and landed like a mighty hero (though his knees hurt like hell from the impact) next to his Flareon. He staggered to his feet and shifted his gray gloved hands onto his hips. "Yer in fer it now! Neva, Take Down!" Never the Flareon suddenly burst out from his grizzled stance and forwarded himself towards the male trainer and his Blastoise. He jumped into the air next and relaxed all his weight to his forward, using as much energy he could to try and knock the Blastoise off balance and have a spot open for the thief to run. That was surely going to be hard . . . Blastoises weigh a lot and the space to escape would be small. But if the woman had the stamina to run, she'd surely make the getaway.

Aurora had believed that she and her Cyndaquil were doomed when just then, a flareon came to their rescue, barring its beautiful fangs against the Blastoise despite it's disadvantage. Aurora was in awe.
But even more surprising to her was when a man fell from above by his Flareon's side. They were helping them?? Aurora and Cyndaquil exchanged a quick glance at one another and nodded. They would make their escape and properly thank whoever this was...
Aurora was not one to be grateful at times but this trainer had immediately grabbed her interest and attention. There was surely something different about them she though as she slipped past the Blastoise as it lunged at the Flareon.
Holly's little Cyndaquil was not strong enough the take on the Blastoise. So she stood below a tall building and waited for the trainer that saved her nervously. Would he make it out ok?

Sorano smirked at the trainer who shivered with anger. Of course, who wouldn't be angry? The hindrance in front of them had just let the thief escape!
"How could you just let her escape?!" screamed the trainer, obviously annoyed, angered, and all those other nasty emotions that made people want to punch a wall over and over.
Sorano just smiled, a wide grin which was his most common trademark. "That girlie was at a dis-vantage, boyo. I ain't one ta step inta petty affairs that dun' con-cern mahself, but this was 'ertainly somethin' unfair. Hurtin' a lil' girlie . . . shouldn' ya be 'shamed of yaself? My, my, imagin' what yer momma'll say if she sees ya now . . . ! Kwehehehehe!"
This angered the male immensely and he ordered the Blastoise to lock and load. Sorano was prepared for this. Hydro Cannon was definitely a strong attack and Never would suffer if he were to get hit. He had an idea -- an idiotic idea, but it might work.
As the Blastoise leveled itself up, Never shifted his glance to his trainer. What in the world was he thinking? Was he considering suicide now? Gah! The Flareon just kept his stance with a slight sliver of sweat pearling upon forehead. C'mon! Do something!
"Blastoise, Hydro Cannon!" ordered the boy and a jet of water cascaded from the Blastoise's pumps. At that moment, Sorano grabbed Never and squished him to his bosom. He ran headfirst towards Hydro Pump before looking down at the Flareon pressed into his chest.
"In three, Neva, I want ya ta use Protect." muttered Sorano and the Flareon nodded. Whatever this plan was, it was crazy . . . too crazy.
" 'Un . . . " began Sorano, his legs picking up their pace. "T-wo . . . " Oh gosh, they were going to get themselves killed, Never knew it. " . . . Three!"
The Flareon used Protect and the Hydro Cannon hit the shield with a loud thud. Water splashed everywhere and soaked the Flareon and his trainer immensely. When the shield died down, the Flareon turned his gaze up towards the trainer and his Blastoise. Yea, so . . . him and Sorano survived but what did that have to do with anything? That is when Never earned his answer. The Blastoise was heaving for air, panting like a dehydrated Growlithe. Hmm! Sorano did something smart.
Tiring the Blastoise out by using one of its most powerful attacks was pretty clever. That gave both him and his Flareon that chance to escape. They eventually escaped as the trainer and his Blastoise went on a running spree the other way, thankfully running off into the distance away from the grunt and the blond theif. Seeking her out, Sorano smiled and waved his head.
" 'ey, yer okay?" he yelled while approaching her. "That was surely some mess ya got yaself inta . . . ! 'ight wanna be careful next 'ime!"

Aurora breathed a sigh as the trainer ran over to her. Somehow he had made it! She wasnt sure how but he must have been very clever... Hmmm, clever men are hard to come by, she thought with a smile.
"It sure was a mess," she replied with a grin, flashing her new pokeball in the air for him to see. "Haha, got me a freebie!" She added, looking him in the eyes with a playful wink.
Pressing the button on the front of the pokeball she released her find. In a flashing red light, a figure appeared large at first in the light but dwindled slowly as it faded into a...goldeen? That stupid trainer was defending a freakin' Goldeen!? Her jaw flew open in a disgusted manner as she looked down at it, flopping at her side.
"Goldeen, goldeen!" It exclamed, confused.
Holly slapped her palm to her face in a dramatic gesture of disappointment.
"All of that...for THIS?" She was at a loss for words.

At that moment, Sorano fell over while holding his gut and laughing.
"A Goldeen! Kwehehehehehe! All that fer nothin' indeedy!" he laughed when he picked himself up and wiped his squinted eye. "Kwehehe, what'cha gonna do with it? Doubt there be a train'a willin' ta pay top dollar fer that . . . ! But I gotta say, ya gots some talent there girlie. Ya . . . " He bent his head close to whisper to her. "are part of TR aren't ya?"
Never stared at the flopping fish, holding it down with his paw as it struggled under his grip. He opened his mouth next and chomped on it, trying to hold it still while is wiggled and flopped. New chew toy? Possibly. It certainly wasn't a cooperative one though.

Despite her disgust, Aurora had to laugh with him. She also held her gut as she laughed, her Cyndaquil rolling off her back laughing itself.
Tobias (Cyndaquil) suddenly plopped onto the ground and looked up at the firey Pokemon now at his level and blinked (lol). It waved a friendly hello and joined in at tugging at the Goldeen. Was it food? He wondered.
Aurora's eyes widened and her heart beat faster as he whispered into her ear. Team Rocket? How had she not remembered the name? She a part of the famous Team Rocket?
She looked up at him and her eyes sparkled and danced. She leaned over and whispered back into his ear as trainers walked by curiously. Didnt want them to hear...
"Im not a part of Team Rocket... But I am looking to join soon. Been trying to catch some pokemon to impress one ya know?"
She had no idea if he was with Team Rocket or not but she secretly hoped... She thought as the Goldeen was perhaps being eaten. Did it really matter?

Never gave the Cyndaquil a small smile. He was colored weirdly . . . hmm, just like a direct balance of ebony and ivory. If Horatio was around, he'd certainly love the little fire Pokemon.
"Think its edible?" he asked, biting the flopping Goldeen lightly. "Tastes edible. Hmm."
Sorano sighed and wiped under his eye. That was quite a good laugh. His eyebrows sprang up next come the answer of her not truly being a part of the voracious Team Rocketto.
"Oh, yer not?" he said, surprise in his tone. "Well . . . " he cleared his throat a little next. "I can always throw in some word fer ya, girlie. Ya seem to be a good thief, they could'a use ya."
He was being honest, honestly. She'd make a good member, he saw that happening.
