Just like any other day, Rayne was starting her day out fussing with her hair. The wavy mess seemed to frizz at the slightest amount of moisture in the air. And lucky for her, she awoke to a thick patch of fog that stretched as far as the eye could see. Great! Just great!! Her hair was an utter and complete mess. The only good thing about this morning was that she hadn't had to bother shielding her morning look from anyone else. Honestly, it would have been a Nightmare!
Sighing to herself she submerged her head in the water and soaked her whole head. If it was going to be a fuzzy mess, she might as well wet the stuff. Really.

"Gross!" King raised a hoof, swaying it back and forth. What was with this morning humidity? Stupid summer. Stupid heat." The dampness of the air mucked up the forest ground and his hooves sank deeper and deeper into the mud. It was reaching his actual coat, above his hooves, horrid as that was. Where was Knave to stupidly test the ground for hard spots?! His brilliant white pelt could stain. Father would be furious, with good reason, of course. Bad as the to-be-stains were, he couldn't focus on those, his mane was a curly mess!
Crinkling his nose, he easily picked up the sound of rushing water nearby, just what he needed! And sure as it sounded, he found it through another thicket..
But there was a problem. A mare. "Oh, no!" The colt muttered quietly, taking an abrupt step back. He looked... Indecent! Unfortunately for him, stepping before he looked lead to him stepping on a twig. Fortunately for him, it wasn't another puddle of mud. Unfortunately once more, it emitted a pretty loud crack!

Rayne's head surfaced and she took in a greedy gulp of air. At least things for her didn't seem that bad, as long as she waited his horrible humidity out near this lake. She shook her head strongly, ridding her mane of most of the access water and blinked her eyes open. The sun was starting to warm her back, which meant most creatures would start gathering here soon. As much as staying here sounded great, she knew it would look odd for her to stay and wait out this thick fog.
~Crack!~
Her ears twitched towards the noise. Crap! Someone had probably been spying on her without her knowledge. Was probably laughing at her right now. With a grumble she glared towards the noise. "I know your there!" she shouted. But for how long, was the question. Slowly she waded her way in that direction, ready to meet her would be stalker.
But what she found surprised her most. As she sauntered out of the water, and past the tall brush that surrounded the lake she found a small bright white colt. What a cute little thing, she thought. Yeah, his mane and tail were curled and bouncy around his face, but it was adorable and she couldn't help but smile at him. "So your the one that was watching me." she proclaimed arrogantly.

And under the twig, there was an unsettlingly deep mud puddle! What was this?! King's back hoof was stuck in there good, but he tried waiting it out... Maybe the bathing mare didn't hear him and would move on. But no. She just had to perk up at the sound and approach him. By the time Rayne reached him, he was yanking his leg desperately. Of course, when she was completely upon him, he stopped the struggle and put on a 'brave face'.
"Watching you? Hah!" His head turned abruptly to his left, and he took an opportunity to really look at her. She was pretty for a dumb mare, as father always called them; A smokey Unicorn. Unicorns were supposed to be the most beautiful breed, but he couldn't tell with Rayne's dampened hair. With her hair went her spirits, he noticed through her eyes.
Hair! His mane! Oh, no! His hair hung in messy ringlets, imitating his mother's, though less organized. He muttered "stupid humidity" under his breath before appraising the mare once more. He realized that he'd started speaking to her, "why would I be doing something like that?!"

As her hair continued to drip down her neck, she barely paid any attention to the colts stuck leg. After all, it was probably the least important thing when it came to looks. And with a wipe of the head she snorted at his comment. "It's not why would you. But why wouldn't you?" she asked merrily. "After all, everyone should try to accomplish some sort of outer excellence, don't you think? I mean, you, yourself will probably grow into a fine specimen of beauty." Rayne truly thought so, with his flawless white coat and blond mane to match, he'd have to beat the ladies off him when he matured. "Just keep that in mind and you'll have to beat them away with sticks." she grinned.
