Night had fallen across the land and that meant time to explore and hunt and maybe play around for a while. Aminah was presently standing atop a rock formation, looking for signs of life, any sort of signs really.
She wasn't supremely hungry, so food wasn't at the top of her list, but she did think it was time to start looking anyway. Because given her luck, she'd probably end up finding people to talk to before she found anything to eat, and by the time they were done she'd be hungry. But that was just the way life worked, ne?

Amara was tired from a day spent chasing birds and collecting oddly formed twigs. She was on her way home to her favorite dished sleeping rock; thankfully her belly was full as Sarai had made herself known and had brought down a sweet-tasting young gazelle.
Nearing her rock, she perked a bit when she noticed a brightly-colored female standing atop one of the outcroppings that braced the large dished rock Amara slept in. She was more curious than anything, and didn't go on the offensive as Sarai would've done. "Hello?" she called out to the lioness.

Aminah glanced down and smiled a little. "Hi there." she greeted, leaning down to look at the other lioness. "Am I intruding on your rocks?" she inquired, indicating the formation with her head. After all, it did look kind of homey down towards the bowled rock.

Amara was more nervous that her precious collection of shiny colored rocks had been misplaced than she was about the strange lioness that was sitting on her rocks.
"Did you touch the stones?" She murmured, stepping quicking towards the small collection of drab-looking pebbles she'd collected. They appeared to be intact, and with a relieved sigh Amara glanced toward the striped lioness.
"You are, but that is fine. I only sleep on one of them." Amara offered a small smile. "What is your name, pretty? I am Amara." She leapt up into her favorite rock and settled in comfortably before giving her attention completely to pretty.

"Stones? OH, those things!" she said, noticing the other go to check on them, "No I didn't even notice them before. They weren't mine anyway so I wouldn't have bothered them."
Aminah smiled back, flicking her tail a little at being called pretty. "I'm Aminah and I'll get off your rock if you like. I was just up here to get a view of the landscape and see what I could find."

Amara shook her head with a smile, "No, you're fine. I was just worried about my stones, you see." She gestured to them lovingly, "I spent all of last week carrying them over here from the lakebed." Amara was obviously proud of herself for this feat.
"Aminah, I am Amara." She giggled softly, eyes wide, "It almost sounds like we are sisters! Twins, even!"
"What were you looking for up on that rock? Did you find what you were searching for?"

"Oh, well they're very nice stones?" Aminah offered, though not quite sure what to say about them besides that. But it was probably good to compliment them.
She laughed at the lioness's next comment, "It does! Funny thing, that!" the white female stretched a bit on her rock, smiling a good deal more. At least Amara was nice, or seemed so.
"Oh I was just looking to see if anyone was around or if there was any food in the area. I just got up and wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do just yet so I figured I'd have a look around."

"There is plenty of food in this area, Aminah!" She laughed gleefully, nodding her head towards the savanna. "There is not usually anyone around, though, that is why I was ever-so surprised to see you here! Sitting on my rocks, of all places!"
The lioness idly began to groom herself. It relaxed her, and she had been traveling for the past few days. "And I am glad you like my stones, Aminah! It was a huge trouble to get them here, and I am convinced I swallowed at least five of them!"

"Yes, I'm sure there is. I just hadn't been looking for long is all." Aminah agreed, stretching a bit. "I do keep wandering into all sorts of strange people while I've been traveling."
The lioness's eyes widened in surprise, "Well hopefully you didn't. Stones aren't meant for eating, so they can't do anything good to the stomach."

Amara nodded solemnly, "Yes, there are all sorts of strangers about; you really have to be careful about who you stop and chat with. You never really know what kind you might run into! They might be a mean, a nice, or even a pretty like yourself!"
"I ate already today or else I'd offer to hunt with you; besides that, I don't hunt." She looked like the thought put a bad taste in her mouth, "Sarai does all that."

"This is true." Aminah agreed, "I guess I'm just way too used to a very close-knit pride. When I left, it was kind of scary being alone all the time and then meeting new people."
"It's okay, I'm sure I'll find something." the white female assured her with a waved paw, "Who's Sarai? A friend of yours?"

"I have always been alone, well.. except for Sarai. She is always here." The last words were said with something akin to distaste, perhaps anger?
"Sarai is ... she is always here," Amara didn't really know how else to describe it. "She is sleeping now, I think. She usually sleeps after a meal."

"Aha." Aminah nodded, not getting it at all, but deciding it was probably best to let her newfound companion alone on the subject. Amara definitely didn't seem to like talking about whoever this Sarai person was.
"So where do you come from?"

Amara hummed thoughtfully; she'd never given that topic much thought. "I come from here," she said simply, I do not remember my mother or father; for as long as I can remember it has always been myself and Sarai." It sounded sad even to her own ears; sometimes she craved a home.
"Where do you come from, Aminah?"

"Oh, just a small pride. We moved around a lot and they didn't like outsiders much, but my family was pretty nice." the female said, nodding some. She was starting to get hungry and was sad she might have to leave her new friend soon, especially since Amara seemed so lonely.
