... to ask if I could attend some important meeting with the higher ups of our school, other universities, Helsinki city mayor, bank people and who else in a few weeks. :0
So I finished my thesis a few weeks back and returned it. Last week I did an exam of my thesis, which is standard procedure to test if I've actually written the thesis myself, they checked ID as well to verify I'm really me. Turns out my thesis councellor has been praising my subject and work and results to the head of our school and now the headmaster wants me to come tell about my thesis and the results at this meeting. OMFG. eek
And those of you who remember my thesis subject, it was about employers' knowledge of different types of assistant and secretary titles. I'm going to be a multilingual management assistant (BBA), a highly regarded title with a highly regarded background. There are other secretaries out there without any education on the industry, so I did research and a questionnaire (sent it to 370 people out of which 94 answered) to get some results. I also gave tips to the school and students studying to be BBAs on how to market their expertise and their highly regarded title.

I'm not nervous yet, it's on Monday the 24th and I still have my German exam before that, which is bothering me a lot. D: If I get nervous before the meeting, I'll ask you for tips, Kas, thanks! heart

AND THIS IS TOMORROW MORNING AT 8 ******** AM! ASDASDASD... I've done a PowerPoint presentation that's about 20 minutes in length. I had to concentrate on the most important bits of my thesis, because I only have 20 minutes. If I'd have wanted to go through the whole thesis, the PowerPoint would be at least twice as long. I began my monthly womanly stuff today and haven't been feeling all too good. I'm also a bit hungover from last night, so that adds to the ill feeling. I'm really not looking forward to this presentation tomorrow. confused
I also have to wear nice clothes, which means high heels, which sucks right now since my ankles are torn apart. I tried on my new shoes from Budapest last week and after 10 minutes of walking in them, they'd sliced my skin open in both ankles. They're still very sore, so urgh... I just have to put lots of bandages on to lessen the friction between my ankles and shoes.

And I did pretty well, I was really nervous, but luckily there was 3 people I knew from school/my internship place last autumn. I hate being nervous, because I start sweating a lot and that's just nasty. D: But I got good feedback and some interesting questions and the subject sparked a massive conversation. biggrin And they're really considering changing some stuff in this degree programme that I'm studying in, because of some suggestions I'd made in my thesis!
Before I left, my headmaster gave me a few books as a thank you. =o The other one is a really nice book, about the history of the management assistants (and my school) starting from the 1960s. I already used it when I was writing my thesis, but it's a really useful book. The headmaster also said that in the autumn they might need me to give another presentation at some other meeting for other people. D: Great...
