The Beginning

To truly understand the past of Yamatano Hatake, one must first look into the past of the Hatake clan itself. At the end of the last Great Shinobi War, there was a great peace among all hidden villages. Kakashi Hatake took his place as the head of his clan, and for many years they lived in prosperity. Many years later, however, Kakashi died from his moderately old age combined with the use of the Sharingan, which had very slowly eaten away at his life force each time he had used it.

After the great mourning for one of Konoha's greatest shinobi was over, The council made a completely selfish descision: they demanded that the clan turn over the fabled White Light Chakra Sabre to the village, claiming they wanted to use it to "Make a commemoration for such a great ninja." However, Kakashi's son and Yamatano's granduncle, Obito Hatake, saw through them: They truly wanted to learn the secret of the Hatake's white chakra manipulation into weapons. A great debate among the elders of the clan and the Konoha Council waged, which eventually led to the Hatake Clan disowning the leaf, and leaving in search of a new hidden village to call their own. This became known as the Great Silver Migration.

The Settling

After the Clan had left the Leaf Village and their old past behind, they sought a village that would take them in. on their way through water country, they witnessed an attack taking place at the gates of Kirigakure, the attack being held by the Remnants of the once great Hoshigaki Clan and a few bandits, striving to retake power in the Mist. The Kirigakure shinobi were fightning bravely, but even the Mizukage could see: the rebels were succeeding. Without a second thought, the Hatake Clan charged from behind, bringing down an entire squadron of Hoshigaki, and ultimately turning the tide of the battle. The battle was won for Kiri, with all the attackers dead or fleeing. Upon the victory, the Hatake clan was welcomed into Kirigakure with the highest respect. Thus came an end to the Great Silver Migration......

The Actual Story

Now, after many years within the walls of Kirigakure, The Hatake clan has become well settled, with each of it's members acting as prodictive members of the village.

Well........ok, MOST of the members.

Yamatano Hatake, as a young boy, loved to play pranks on people within the village, especially his sister, Leiko. He was quite lazy, though whenever he had a lesson he proved to be more than competent, and loved the Crab Ramen with extra onions from Nikko's Ramen and Sushi Bar. Despite this, everyone within the clan was fond of Yamatano. He showed great prowess in the areas of ninjutsu and genjutsu at an early age, though his hand-to-hand combat was always lacking somewhat. To make up for this, Yamatano's father made him his twim red daggers, which he still carries with him to this day. He had an inquisitive mind and a happy nature, and was generally a good child, despite constantly replacing Leiko's shampoo with syrup, or replacing the academy teacher's coffee with decaf, or using too much WD-40 on the sliding doors so they slide off their hinges, or.....you get the idea.

The Meeting

Now at this point, Yamatano has grown into a fine young boy of 13, excelling in his studies and ninja skills. However, at this time in his life he is still overcome with incredible laziness and cockiness. So what does he decide to do, rather than go to is first official day at the ninja academy? Go to Nikko's and stuff himself silly with Ramen. There is where he met his soon to be best friend Kaizen Minoru, also skipping class, but only because the academy was closed. Like Yamatano, Kaizen was trained in Shinobi Arts by his family, and merely attending the academy as a formality. Too bad for them, though, as they were caught slacking off by none other than their soon-to-be teacher, Tares Demascus. Tares, or LT as he was known, privately instructed them in the ways of ninjutsu and taijutsu too advanced for the regular academy students, even sending them on training exercises so exhausting that they couldnt defend themselves from his suprise attacks when they were done. So yea, just an average Kirigakure shinobi's education. This continued for several weeks, with Kaizen and Yamatano growning stronger by the day.

But no strength could prepare them for what was soon to come.....
