i have to Anime Vegas every year since i was 10 (4 years) and I was wondering why I never see anyone cosplay as a Chocobo (i think i spelt it wrong >.<) or Yuna in swordsman form or Paine in Thief, Dancer, or Gunner O_o

Main reason is the convention is more tied to Anime/Mangas. Games are there but not so much.
I have seen more Guilty Gear cosplays and KH cosplays as they look more anime tied.
But i have seen more popular ff Cosplays and X-2 Yuna isn't as popular as the normal one.
now a chocobo is what is rare to see. If i saw one i would so scream "CHOCOBO!" and jump on his back.
so yeah, ANIME convention is more tied to ANIME/MANGA style and culture. Games are a third party there.

oh wait...never mind. There ARE Chocobos in Japan.
Then you must be living in Canada. They have some awesome conventions up there, Eh?

East coast has like one major convention. Anime Boston but that is like 6 hours from where i am. on the other hand, Anime festival in NYC is little to one hour and 30 minutes.

Maybe because they'd be hard to fit through the doors? xD I dunno, never been to a convention. I'd go as Quistis in her SeeD uni if I did though. ^^

If I saw chochobo cosplayer I would capture it until I found another chocobo cosplayer then force them to breed the coveted GOLD CHOCOBO!!!

this is off topic but I have noticed something. I am in a couple different guilds now and I notice that almost everybody in these guilds dress in a way that is similar or exactly like what the guild is based on. Like on here I see everybody in FF-esque atire and in the Avatar RP almost everybody is a Na'vi
