Ment = Red
Spenta = LightBlue

Ment was taking a respite as the sun reached high that afternoon, having already eaten and played his fill with some females he had passed by on his travels he was sufficiently tuckered out. He decided a nap was the most appropriate thing to do in his situation and therefore had plopped his butt down in the longest grass he could find possible. Unbeknowest to him he had stepped foot in Spenta's "lands", the scent marker Spenta had probably left not picked up by him with his nose already having been full of the smells of meat, and women.

Spenta's belly was full with an earlier meal and he was feeling rather lazy. The sun was high though it wasn't unbearable to the pale lion; in fact, he rather enjoyed the warmth it provided. He was sprawled out in his favorite spot, a small shrubby tree providing his shelter. Spen was content. Well, he was content until the scent of a strange lion filtered into his nose. Out of curiousity and without malice, he idly stretched and made his way into the taller grass that swayed in the distance.

Ment heard him approach and quickly attempted to make himself as low to the ground and possible. It was hard for the red lion to camoflague himself anywhere with his brightly colored mane, and he stood out like a giant eyesore between the blade of green and tan grass around him. He hoped that his investigator wasn't as good at spotting as other's were and that he'd be able to continue his respite instead of needing to slink away.

"If gods exist they'll throw me a bone..." Ment muttered to himself as he attempted to keep an eye on his investigator.

Spenta had grown quite skilled at spotting intruders- a skill honed by necessity, one forced by his brother. Of course it helped that the crimson-maned stood out like a beacon in the otherwise mundane surroundings. Spen sneezed lazily and sat back on his haunches. With a tilt of his head and a flick of his ear, Spen licked his nose before speaking. "I mean you no harm, stranger. Just investigating a newcomer to my home."

Ment sighed to himself. It was indeed a relief to him, his wounds from his previous encounter having started to act up from his fun earlier in the day. He lifted his head curiously to see the blue maned lion before him and a twinge of envy overshot Ment. He sometimes wishes his mane were a lighter color, his two-toned red brought on much heat throughout the day and made it itchy on occasion.

"I wasn't aware it was your home, sky lion. I apologize for the intrusion," Ment said, bringing himself up from his crouch lazily and with some soreness in his back region, "My name is Peremende'Ment. I'm a traveler of the Simbafutaji Pride. You are?"

What a formal lion this one was, Spenta thought to himself. "I am Spenta Mainyu," he offered in a friendly way, "You may call me Spenta, or Spen if you prefer. And this isn't.. well, it's not really MY territory, merely my home. I'm very defensive towards most strangers," he offered. Most strangers meant his brother, really, but he wasn't going to offer such information. Though the lion's pelt was white, his mane was the brightest red. It wasn't a color that Spenta trusted easily. "Where is your pride located? Are you not far from your homeland?"

Ment's formalities ended after apologies and introductions as he quickly decided he wanted to address Spenta as Spen, "My pride is located a long ways for here, so far that most lions don't even catch a glimpse of it within their lifetimes. The Simbafutaji is located near the ocean and sandy beaches of the shores. The place where land meets the endless watering hole."

Ment, in his brief time there, had picked up a bit of a story-teller's voice when he described things. Information was something the whole pride wished to obtain and it was a treat when a member came back with something new to tell of.

"Yes. I am rather far from home, but that's the life and love of my pride. We gather information and stories and bring them back to the pride. And well, Spen, you can't exactly learn all there is to know if you simply stay in one area afterall."

Spenta enjoyed listening to the lion talk; his voice was very enigmatic. It was a pleasure to meet such a personable stranger. "It sounds like a lovely pride, I have never seen the ocean before." Spen hadn't been that far in his travels as of yet, "Perhaps when I find myself in that area I might seek you out." He chuckled, knowing it was highly unlikely. "What stories do you seek out, friend?" He moved to a more relaxed position, resting now on his belly. His tail flicked idly behind him, and it was obvious he was comfortable with the other lion.

"Pridal stories are what I'm seeking currently. Pridal stories and information about crafting practices," Ment said, giving a smile, "My official rank within my pride is a Crafter, but I only know how to use the materials of the Simbafutaji lands. I'm trying to learn how to use materials from all over."

Ment himself had relaxed by now, figuring that if he was going to be attacked it would have happened already. Not only that but Spenta seemed like a rather nice fellow overall, which was great considering most of the males he encountered were combative.

"Do you have any pridal stories for me, Spen? Even one's you only heard from others?"

Spenta thought about the question posed to him by Ment. He'd not come into contact with many prides, and only one stuck out in his mind. He wasn't sure how much information he wanted to give away; Kizuka's pride had been the only one that he'd spent much time with.

"I know of a pride," he began hesitantly, "A pride that believes that those with white pelts have been blessed by the gods." He paused for a moment. "I do not know many of their stories or lore, and I know nothing of their crafting." A weak smile creased Spen's maw. "My time in the pride was very brief, and I was never a member of it. I was merely a... visitor, if you will."

"Ahhhh." Ment said, giving a small nod. He didn't catch what Spenta had meant by being a visitor, but he knew if it was only for a small period of time, that he probably didn't know that much in regards to their belief system or lore. What he did reveal however would suffice for his pride, at least for now.

White pelts being a blessing of the gods. It was a interesting concept to say the least. Would that mean he was blessed? He couldn't help but chuckle at his own thoughts. He wasn't anything blessed. If anything he had been cursed his whole life.

"That's interesting. Maybe I'll run into this pride one day and ask them myself."

Spen nodded, feeling like he could give a bit more information about the pride. Ment seemed like a honest-enough gentleman, and Spen didn't want him wandering aimlessly searching for Kizuka's pride. Perhaps he would be welcomed there.

"The leader of the pride, the last I heard, is a lioness named Kizuka'nafsi. It is a mountain pride, and far from the roguelands." He stopped, head tilting, curious now. "Now, might I pose a question to you, friend?"

"Huh? Oh, sure," Ment said, as he finished absorbing the little tid-bit of information in which Spen had given him.

Ment was a rather open gent. There wasn't much in which he wouldn't talk about, since conversation is what mostly kept him sane in his years of being alone. strangers kept him company, and now that he had a pride to do that for him, it was only right he return the favor to the rogue's who had done so for him.

It had been a long stretch since he'd seen his brother; Angra had done well in hiding himself. Spenta couldn't help but worry, and who better to ask about Angra-sightings than a wandering lion?

"I have a brother," Spen spoke softly, idly shaking a light coating of dust from his paw, "He looks much like myself, though his fur is blood red and he has eyes of the lightest blue." Spen was silent for a moment, "Have you seen him during your travels?" If he hadn't, well, Spen would have to look harder.

Ment shook his head at Spenta, "I haven't seen any lion who is blood red and has your markings. Should I keep an eye out for him? You're giving me a feeling that I should..."

Ment had been asked before if he had seen particular lions, cheetahs, leopards, etc. but everyone who had ever asked him sounded desperate to find these people. It was generally mothers or fathers who had cubs or pups go missing, though he would get the occasional question like this. This, however, was obviously different. Spenta didn't seem all that anxious about his brother being missing, but at the same time her worried, but the didn't feel like concern.

Spenta let out a soft sigh; he wasn't sure if he should feel relieved that Ment hadn't seen his brother, or worried. "You should keep an eye out for him, yes. He is not the type of lion you would want to tangle with, in fact, should you see him I suggest you head the other way."

Oftentimes he wondered about Oki and her well-being, and that of the cubs. Had she escaped his brother's wrath? "Meeting Angra, my brother, is not something I would wish upon my worst enemy let alone an acquaintance like yourself. Please be wary should you stumble upon him."

Ment nodded at this, "I'll keep an eye out for him and make sure to high tail it in the other direction if I spot him."

Ment didn't want to seem too disturbed by the prospect that he was being warned about a male who could potentially put him in his grave. He was also feeling a change of topic was needed. He hadn't been prepared to start in on a conversation that was so very serious.

He forced a grin upon his face and gave out a small chuckle, "Technically I have to keep an eye out on everyone, I'm not exactly the strongest cat around. Almost got bested by a girl the other day."

Ment turned to the side, showing Spenta the healing gash on his hind quarters from where Dormin had tried to take him down after he asked what he considered some innocent questions about her views. Dormin didn't seem to think they were so innocent and attempted to take him out for causing her distress.

"Almost thought the girl was gonna kill me."

Spenta winced outwardly at the painful looking wound that scored Ment's pelt. He had his own scars to bear, and the manly side of him wanted to show off his healed wounds as well.

"I've never fought a girl before," Spenta chuckled, turning to show off his own badges of battle, "But I've never won a fight against my brother."

The scars, thin and almost invisible, laced his shoulder, back and hindquarters. One almost wouldn't be able to see them unless they were looking for such things.

"He doesn't fight fair, but I'm bound by my own lacking strength, as well," he said sheepishly.

"My experience with fighting women has proven only one thing to me," He said, chuckling before he could even manage to finish his sentence, "I have greatly underestimated their capabilities."

Ment listened to Spenta as he spoke about his brother and his fighting abilities, and his own disabilities. It was actually pretty nice to talk man-things with another male, considering he hadn't done so in such a long while. Most of his recent encounters have been with women, so feeling the testosterone in his system once more made him excited he stumbled upon Spenta's living place.

When Spenta had finished, he started showing off the rest of his random wounds, both fresh, healed, and barely even there anymore. Ment had a lot of them and decided to fill his time on Spenta's living spot with story upon story of his stupid encounters, and the scars that went with them; at least until the sun went down.
