((Note: I'm not too sure who all is invited to this. For now it is only an RP intended between emothunder and sweets. If you really have to jump in then please discuss it with us in the main shop thread.))

It was Tuesday after school a few hours past the chiming of the day's last bell. School was out and the majority of the students had already returned to their homes or wandered off. Some people were still roving the school grounds for various reasons. Valley High had numerous clubs and sporting teams available so it was not unheard of for students and teachers to still be in the building.

Every other week the Astrology Club gathered in one of the classrooms. It was one of Takuma Nobuyuki's favorite activities to attend. Despite having no rank within the club he was a permanent fixture during their meetings. It was abnormal for him to miss a meeting. Takuma had always been fascinated by the night sky and unpredictable nature of weather. They were not mainstream interests but the teenager could care less about what his peers thought about them. To him most popular media were uninteresting or overly busy to keep his interest so any related mocking had no weight to him.

The Astrology Club's meeting had ended 25 minutes ago. Everyone else had gone home already but Takuma remained behind. The club's president knew that they could easily get Takuma to do the club's busy work. That kid seemed to always have extra time and was simply a pushover. A pushover that protests and obeys anyways is still a pushover. Thus Takuma was still at school busy as could be. After some persuasion they were able to get the Art Club to help make posters for an upcoming meteor shower. Traditionally the Astrology Club was pretty lax about advertising itself but it made an exception to this rule whenever some flashy event was going to happen. It was both good publicity and more importantly would be a shame for anyone to miss such a marvelous occurrence. The hard part was over, they now had the posters. Now all that was left is posting them...

Takuma wandered the halls with an idle determination. The task needed to be done but there wasn't a real time limit. He was never in a hurry to return home since nobody would be there. No kind greeting or friendly presence. Just a cold house waiting for it's occupant's return later in the evening. Takuma went from hall to hall putting up posters. Their placement was not as high as it could have been but he ignored this flaw in his placement. He just could not carry the mound of posters and a footstool or chair at the same time.

Despite claims to the contrary, the finances of the student council were not particularly quick or easy to maintain. As usual, Shin-lu had been jotting down and photocopying most of the afternoon, noting that the art club wanted a bigger budget and that the modern socialist appreciation club was spending /over/ budget and that the artful flower arrangers were well under budget and---

Shin-lu heard a scuffling outside the staff photocopier room she was in and glanced out, noticing that she wasn't the last soul left in the building.

"What are you doing?" Her gaze indicated the posters on the wall. Had the astronomy club signed the permission slips for this?

Her dark eyes narrowed as she detected the subtle hint of blackmail material.

The sound of someone's voice suddenly piercing the silence startled Takuma. This shock caused him to drop the bundle of posters he was carrying. A few of them rolled away haphazardly when they hit the floor. He was relieved that the posters had all been individually rubber banded to stay in their rolled up tube form. If anything happened to any of them Takuma would be expected to replace it. However that wouldn't prevent a poster from becoming lost.

"I'm just putting up some posters," he replied hesitantly while stooping down to gather the posters that were still at his feet. The voice was unfamiliar and he felt foolish. What year was this person? At this point Takuma had yet to get a good look at Shin-lu. Everything had happened quickly and he appeared to be focused on the newly cluttered ground. "We need to get them up before everyone arrives in the morning."

The student council treasurer held back a maniacal grin and bent to help Takuma pick the posters up. "The astronomy club, mmm? Where is everyone else?" She indicated the empty halls. "Don't tell me they left you alone to put these up and take the blame?"

Well not that many students would think to ask permission before graffiting the walls of the school- except Shin-lu knew someone would probably not see it as 'ohh pretty posters' and instead roar on about defacing public property and the degeneration of youth.

The treasurer rubbed her chin thoughtfully, eyeing off Takuma. He was about a year older than her, and had a distinctive 'schmuck' air off him. She could just bet he had been duped into doing this.

Takuma's tone of voice reflected that he was still startled. "They have already gone home." When they finally had all the posters together Takuma got a chance to clearly see who he was talking to. He didn't recognize her but her voice had a tone of authority... Wait, did she just say blame?! Perhaps if he could get a name from her he could figure out what their position was.

"I'm not sure if we have met before." He bows slightly while clutching at the posters clearly reluctant to have them fall again. "I'm Takuma Nobuyuki."

Shin-lu took the poor guy's hand and nodded. "Shin-lu Chang. Student council treasurer."

"You do know that the hall regulations specifically forbid the graffitti'ing of the noticeboard system without prior consent." Someone had swallowed the school regulation book and then some.

She adjusted her skirt. "This could be quite a serious matter. The club could be disbanded...."

Shin-lu wasn't joking, but probably no one would vote for that on the comittee. But no one needed to know that. Her hunting gaze was on.

There wasn't much of a response from Takuma when he heard that she was the student council treasurer. He had always assumed they were more prone to lingering at the school after classes were out. Too bad Shin-Lu's introduction was the only nice thing she had said...

The shock of what she had said made Takuma loose grip of the posters. He noticed this in time to prevent dropping them a second time. They lightly crackled as he held them tighter. "It was a direct order from the club's president to get the posters up today. I don't know what was done beforehand for gaining permission or anything like that."

He shrugs at a loss for what to do. Since Takuma didn't have a phone he never thought to try to get the phone numbers of anyone in the club. There was no way he could contact any of them until tomorrow. It felt like he was trapped.

((OOC: Dude, one of us needs to figure out who the person in charge of the club is. ))

"Ignorance is not an accepted plea." She flicked her hair and pulled out one of her accounting books.

There was a lot about Shin-lu that spoke of her less than loving nature. From her meticulous hair to her sharp, hawk-like gaze she looked like a very self-centered person. The kind of girl who did everything for a self-serving reason.

"But... since going to all that trouble is going to make me a lot of paperwork...." She glanced over the book at Takuma, her pen tapping lightly against the page. "Perhaps we can settle for something else...?"

He looked downwards nervously wanting to be able to escape her piercing gaze. It would normally be difficult to not be intimidated by it. Coupled with this unfortunate situation it was unbearable for him to further prolong eye contact.

Takuma listened to her intently. The boy was more concerned about getting another note sent home than the fate of the club. Interests could be pursued elsewhere but he could not afford to be in more trouble at home.

His heart jumped when he heard a hinting towards some way to get out of this. Did she actually mean it or was she teasing? "What kind of something are we talking about?"

Shin-lu tapped her pen to paper as though she were actually thinking about this, even though extortion was practically second nature to her now.

"Well perhaps nothing that I need right now.... but in the future." She twirled her pen. "But this is a serious favour, you know? You can't back out or refuse me, whatever I might ask later..."

The boy did not hesitate or mull it over before responding. "That sounds acceptable" Takuma shrugged but was much more at ease now though still reluctant to regain any kind of eye contact. "As long as what you want is not worse than what would have happened from this I'm all yours."

Wait? He just realized that this girl caught him halfway through the task. This would have been so much easier if he had just began or was already finished. "The posters. What am I supposed to do with them now?" Takuma was honestly confused if he should finish his task or go home.

A smile curled Shin-lu's lips, the smile might later be likened to a 'cat-ate-the-canary' or even a self satisfied grin. The truth was that it was more like a demon incarnate that had just recieved a neat little contract with Takuma's name on the bottom line, signed and dated.

If she'd been any more evil and demonic, she might have cackled, burst into flames and soared off to cause further mayhem and wanton anarchy.

As it was she just grabbed a poster and started helping the poor boy pin them up. It might have even been a good deed, if she wasn't a creature of darkness luring in lost souls.

The more people she had owing her favours and tricks, the happier she was, like a shadow-puppeteer, she longed to orchestrate the whole school from behind the pages of her little notebook.

It was startling how much easier putting up posters was with help. This might have taken Takuma all afternoon to do on his own. At this rate they would be done within the next 20 minutes or so.

"What's it like being on the council? It sounds like a lot of work." It was something Takuma wasn't interested in but he was still trying to come up with something to talk about. It would be far too awkward to finish this while enduring an icy silence.

Shin-lu put her books away in her bag and picked up a poster, beginning to help the boy plaster them to the wall. Her movements were casual, although she displayed an almost OCD in her arrangement of the poster, it had to be as perfectly straight as she could make it, and the tape pressed down with no creases, or she'd start again.

"It is not that much work, when trouble-makers aren't.... making trouble. And I enjoy being around the others." Well truth be told, ONE of the others in particular. She smiled a little to herself. "Just today, I set up a moment in the girl's bathroom and she went in, there was a faucet spraying everywhere, and the white school shirts were completely see-through and I got some decent snaps with my secret camera. I hope that it wasn't damaged by the water though...."

She glanced at Takuma. "I mean, I caught the culprit, of course. Any other photos will be deleted. Mostly I was hoping that she gave me a good show." She coughed. "The culprit I mean."

As they worked he took note of how precise and meticulous Shin-lu's method was. They were just normal stupid posters taped to the wall. Did every single one really need to be perfect? Takuma assisted as best he could. As Shin-Lu carefully taped the corners he held the poster firmly in place. There were only a few left now. Perhaps he would finally be able to leave the school grounds soon. It would be a chance to get away from this intimidating girl and do something fun today. The boy was starting to feel nervous that once they were done with the posters she would have some new task he would have to complete before leaving. The favors wouldn't be starting this early would they?

Takuma frowned slightly as he was trying to understand what Shinlu was talking about specifically. "You were trying to get her to give you a good show?" The way she spoke already was making Takuma regret agreeing to all this. What in the world was she going to make him do?
