━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 『 Ϝ ȃ ɓ ɬ ӛ 』 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Long long ago the land of Tarynia was a beautiful world. It was a land of arching mountains, sprawling meadows, icy tundras, enigmatic forests, merciless deserts, and vast oceans. Its countries were as normal as could be. They had war and peace, they had joy and sorrow, love and anger. Tarynia was undoubtedly and gloriously alive!
But unbeknownst to its many inhabitants, Tarynia was a heavily threatened realm. For its parallel world was one of utter darkness. The first denizens of Tarynia often strayed too close to the places that the veil between the worlds was thin and died horrendous agonizing deaths. But they learned from experience. And from their knowledge, they crafted a piece of art that was so alluring that if one looked upon it too long, one would die of want. They called it Melody. And with the creation of Melody came into Tarynia something novel. Music.
Music became something revered in Tarynia. However, those who have true talent, a true gift for the art discovered they could harness all forms of magic. The most powerful could form up a song in their head and never have the sound produced, yet the magic came into existence. These unique individuals, far and few in-between, were named Harmonies. As Music twisted itself into the very fabric of the lives of those in Tarynia, Melody grew stronger and stronger, feeding off the very thing it had brought to the world. All was good.
But as all histories go, those in power became afraid. They saw the usefulness of the Harmonies, but they also saw the possible threat. It was a fear that grew and grew until it burst. The great purging of the Harmonies began. It was a massacre on both sides. Many of the harmonies had grown arrogant with their gifts, and thought of humans as underneath them. The bloodbath lasted a single year before the Harmonies were driven into exile in the very ends of the land. Music was banned forever from Tarynia, instruments broken, destroyed, burned.
By then, the people had forgotten about Melody, when Melody needed them the most. Without the strength of music giving it energy, Melody began to grow weak against the constant barrage of the darker realm. There was no warning. The strain suddenly became too much for Melody, and it shattered. Eight pieces were thrown across the land of Tarynia along with countless thousands of little shards. The darkness immediately flooded into Tarynia.
The people had not known such fierce fear since their ancient days. Creatures of the darkness came prowling through the land, killing and feasting wherever they went. If a person was particularly unlucky, he was consumed by the darkness itself and turned into a hideous half-human half-creature. Some of these grew strangely powerful. Their human intelligence combined with the strength of the darkness produced a deadly enemy.
But in the darkness, hope shone. Many shards of Melody remained powerful enough to sustain some light. People who managed to find these shattered pieces rapidly created desperate communities around the circle of light. Shadows prowl the edges of these circles of light, waiting. For these shards cannot last forever. They dim as time passes, and the only way to revive them is to venture out into the darkness and gain a certain water. This water flows only from a single location, and it is fiercely guarded by not only the Shadows, but a mysterious warrior. No one knows who he is, or why he is there, but they do know he is very powerful, and indirectly killing of all those who remain of Tarynia.
Whatever the case, the people of Tarynia are running out of time. Many of the Tarynians no longer remember what sunlight is. They have little hope. Their only chance is to turn to the Harmonies they drove out. The Harmonies are able to produce their own light with their music, and it requires no special water to keep it alive. Yet, they are terribly scarce. No one knows where their heart lies, or if they will help those that so brutally rejected them. Tarynia teeters upon the brink of oblivion, and nothing is certain anymore.
Welcome to the land of darkness.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 『 Ƚ ȋ ϝ ѐ 』 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
»This roleplay will centered around a group trying to seek out the eight pieces of Melody. They will have an opposing group who is looking for the pieces of Melody as well, but they are looking to destroy the pieces, or take them for selfish gain.
» Melody is basically one giant crystal, now split into several. It will very clear if your character stumbles upon one.
» Tarynian society these days is roughly medieval.
» A normal citizen in Tarynia must live within a town around a piece of Melody. These towns are almost completely self sufficient. They raise their own livestock and grow their own food under the light of the crystal. These resources are guarded with every citizen's life. If a crop fails, or if the animals run away, that town is faced with the potential of starvation.
» The only thing more precious than food supply in Tarynia is water. Often times, the towns are placed near water sources. Venturing out into the darkness is dangerous, especially ladened down with gallons of water.
» Any outside food supply must sit within a five foot radius around the crystal to purify it of all darkness. Drinking un-purified water or eating un-purified food could lead to someone becoming a shade.
» Tarynians typically share the load of all the jobs; very few of them specialize. Many know how to fight, but the ability varies from town to town.
» There are wanderers in Tarynia. Their main job seems to be helping floundering communities survive by carting around resources. Wanderers generally travel alone, as this attracts less Shadow attention. However, some do travel in groups.
» Traveling in Tarynia now requires a person to carry a “splinter” of Melody, unless you would like to turn into a Shade. Most of these splinters are contained within jewel-like things, such as amulets or rings. They are difficult to find, and doesn’t always guarantee safety.
» Music in Tarynia is still banned. The real reason it was banned is rarely remembered, but people have begun to associate it with the darkness for unknown reasons. Those found with talent for music are seen as evil and in most circumstances, immediately slaughtered.
» Harmonies are very rare in the first place, and rarer still since the purge and the darkness. Most of them don’t like humans. Voice Harmonies are extremely rare, so for purposes of this roleplay, there will only be NPC voice Harmonies.
» Shadows are the creatures originally from the dark realm.
» Shades are human-creature mixes. It is possible for them be good, although if this is the case, it physically pains them, and mentally it is very difficult.
» I am allowing races not associated with magic. For example, you may not play an elemental or a spell-caster, but you may play a neko or an elf.
» The darkness fell in Tarynia roughly one generation ago. Those who still remember the light are now anywhere from sixty to seventy years old.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 『 Ῥ ɬ ӓ ϲ ȇ 』 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Tarynia is a vast land made mainly of plains and forests. To the north lies a vast desert, and beyond unknown kingdoms. This is cut off by a huge mountain wall, which now is a haven of Shadows and Shades. To the South West lies the ocean. In all other directions the plains and rolling hills stretch out, choked in places by thick ominous forests. A single lone river flows from several springs in the mountain wall and meanders through the plains and forests. It branches out into small brooks and streams as it flows.
biggrin Credits to katty_angel for the improved map. Ideally, it will expand in the future as our groups travel along, as for now, the Seekers will start in the city of Lumiere, which is the largest city in Tarynia at the time. About 4,000 inhabitants live in Lumiere. The Spring is said to lie either in the mountain wall, or beyond it. Please also keep in mind that your character is not likely to know any of this. Because it is so dangerous to venture out in the darkness, there are few maps, seeing as the older ones have been destroyed or lost.|| Fable || Life || Place || Tradition || Bones || Legends ||

Shattered Harmony: Violet (Katty_angel) Shade: Lavanya Kaur (SoulDiamond) Shade: Sorin Markov (The Prototype Alex Mercer)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~❖~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Username: Toxias Name: Soluna Mydina Nickname: Sol, but only to those close to her, which currently totals at...zero. Age: Unknown, but she was born sometime after Melody was created and sometime before the Great Purge. Gender: Female Race: Immortal Human Orientation: Heterosexual Allegiance: Seeker Job: None, but she deems herself as "Guardian of Tarynia" Personality: : Soluna is a bright spirited woman. She rarely is ever down. However, she isn’t exuberantly energetic. She does emit a serene power though. She’s often quite serious and contemplative, but she can also be humorous and sometimes tricky. Soluna is kind hearted and generous. She’ll often stick her neck out to save those she deems worthy. She also is an advocate for justice. She has no mercy for the Shadows, and she kills the shades she finds to release them from their “curse”. Soluna rarely gets angry. She’s very tolerant, but when she does anger, her eyes seem to darken and the volume of her voice lowers to sibilant hiss. Bio: Not much is known about Soluna’s past, despite the fact she’s open and relatively kind. She tends to keep her past under wraps, for reasons that no one can quite fathom. Still, most people don’t think about it much. What is known is that Soluna was born into a regular human family and lived a fairly simple life with a younger brother and a twin brother. Beyond that, Soluna is reluctant to speak about it. People get the sense that she has lived a pretty dark life, but they also get hints that Soluna has been around Melody before. Weapons: A long hunting dagger. A powerful long bow that has been enchanted with the power of a Harmony's light. Physical Power(s): Soluna is an expert archer, and also quite adept at her daggers. She’s acrobatic, and her reflexes are fairly good. Like most Tarynians in this day and age, she also has developed extra night-sight. She can play several instruments, however, she cannot channel any magic through them. Soluna also has some ability in forging and fletching. Others: Soluna is extremely knowledgeable. Because of her immortal status, she has developed a slight ability to relieve pain for a few hours. However, this power can rarely be used. Appearance: Guardian
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~❖~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Username: GoldenSparrow Name: Tybalt Sorle (Tih-balt Sore-lay) Nickname: NA Age: 34 Gender: Male Race: It is said he comes from daemon descent, though as far as he knows, his parents and grandparents were human. He certainly looks, and usually acts human, but he can be affected by his mostly-hidden daemon traits, especially when angered. Orientation: Heterosexual. After Osia, Tybalt has had no real attachments to any women. Because he is going off along with the other Seekers, which could turn out to be a march to their deaths, he does not want to leave anyone behind that he cannot promise to return to. Still, he couldn't help but have some small flings in the time he was staying in Lumiere. Allegiance: Seeker Job: Tybalt's only wish was to destroy the murderous beasts that slowly ate away at the edges of life as they knew it, hoping, that in turn, the darkness would ebb as well. So he made it his goal to kill as many Shades who dared come near his village as possible. This was dangerous, of course, and clearly a restricted profession, so, as a cover job, he worked to watch over and protect livestock as they grazed near the outskirts of his small village. When alone with the animals, he would leave them in a fairly safe place - because nowhere was truly safe - and then go off with trusty Reyuna and wreak death on any evil souls he could find. No one, except for his fellow Seekers, know of this previous work. Personality: Tybalt is a purposeful and strong-hearted man. His hopes are to save his people, and he believes that the only way to do so is to end the reign of evil and return the shards to those that they belong to. Tybalt can be a frightful man to whomever opposes him, as, being part daemon, his body is naturally bursting with sheer power and intensity. He is also very protective of women, and would just as soon risk his life for a random woman on the street. Because of this, women tend to have much respect and love for him. Bio: Tybalt was born in a small town just North of Lumiere. Since he was young, he’d always planned to move to the large city and find a way to help regain their rightful territory from the Shades, but he dropped the idea when he fell in love with a woman named Osia. Tybalt was to wed Osia, the most beautiful woman in the world – almost literally – when she was murdered by one of the terrible monsters of the dark. Now Tybalt has decided to go back to the only thing he knows – fighting – but now for a different reason: revenge. Weapons: Small, unbelievably sharp daggers. They are hidden all over him, invisible to onlookers, and he often buys more as he travels. The last time Tybalt counted he had seventeen of them. He also has a light claymore sword, that, instead of carrying in a sheath at his waist, carries on his back so that he can move quickly when needed. Physical Power(s): Fighting, of course! He has massive muscles, a daemon trait, and is quick on his feet. When attacking, he always tries to put the opponent in a position where he can end its life quickly, and prevent him or his companions from any pointless injuries. Tybalt uses many of his daggers to throw, and he has quite good aim. His sword skills are not top-notch, but grace really doesn’t matter when you have enough power to smash your enemies' head in with one swing. Others: He rides a black war horse, Reyuna, who wears a fearsome leather armor piece. Appearance: Tybalt is a tall, mature man with a massive chest and equally massive arms. His tan face is sharp and his grey eyes calm. He has long, thick black hair, most of which (the hair just above his ears to the top of his forehead) he pulls back into a few braids on each side that tie together in the back. The rest of his hair hangs loosely past his shoulders. Tybalt: minus the jewelry and tattoos. He does still wear the ring he would have worn once married. (Tybalt is also partly taken from other paintings of Nathie's, so check them out).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~❖~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Username: X_The_Lily_Of_The_ValleyX Name: Stella Strauss Nickname: Ella Age: 20 Gender: Female Race: Human Orientation: Straight (No Crush Yet) Allegiance: Seeker Job: She used to be a blacksmith apprentice when there was still light around, but as it left, fires became increasingly dangerous, since they atracted the dark beings. Now, she's mostly the weapons lady and miscellanous work. Personality: Ella's rather boyish and more inclined to violence than others. She won't take an insult without a sharp comeback and maybe a punch or two. Her first instinct is fight, but if a battle is too tough (when she is convinced that a battle is too tough) than it's flight for her. However, she can be pleasant if a little gruff normally. Bio: When Ella was born, the small town was surrounded in darkness.She grew with two older brothers. Her mother had died at her birth, so she naturally grew up boyish. Once the brothers had grew of age, they both traveled with the aim of finding a better town to live in. The town itself was self-sufficient but had few to no luxuries. With no wife, and no male children, her father was forced to apprentice her as blacksmith. Fire could be used, however, some people viewed it as a flare to the shadow beings and people didn't need many weapons. Therefore, business became very poor, only making a few farming tools here and there.However, as the years grew, less people showed up and the Melody shard that the town Ella had lived in dimmed, her father grew increasingly worried. Shops closed. People left. Finally, there was a sighting of a shadow being not twenty miles from their town. The remaining people (including Ella and her father) fled. Many were attacked by the monsters. Ella remembered traveling with a few other people, searching for light. They had traveled for a month, and Ella remembers the villagers being picked off. Some grew ill. Water was precious, they followed rivers whenever they could. Finally, it was just Ella, her father, and three other villagers. Eventually they got word of from a traveller that there was a Melody shard a few miles from their location. What that wanderer hadn't said was that shadow beings prowled just outside the perimeter of that. It being late, they were eventually forced to camp outside of the town. When Ella woke up, she remembers it being herself and herself alone. Disoriented and frightened, she wandered the last few miles to Tarynia. No one had seen her father or the last three villagers, and Ella wasn't very hopeful. Still, her knowledge about weapons proved important, and she was another hand to have around the large place that was Tarynia. Still, she wonders if one or two of the villagers, the people she knew were friends, survived. After a while, she became increasingly restless in Tarynia, and when she heard of a group going to find the eight shards of Melody, she volunteered herself immediately. Weapons: Being a blacksmith, she's been around a good many weapons, but prefers a good iron sword that was a weapon at the blacksmith where she grew up, a small bronze shield, and, although she dislikes using it, a mace that usually travels in her bag. Physical Power(s): Fighting and Weaponry, mainly. She's good at thinking in a tough situation. Others: N/A that I can think of... Appearance: Stella
Username: katty_angel Name: Was never given a true name Nickname: Is called Violet because of the flowers in her hair (Those who truly know her and have her trust call her Sweet Grass) Age: Believed to be Eighteen Gender: Female Race: Human (Harmony) Orientation: Is Impressionable and Naive enough to open her heart to others, but Guarded and Smart enough never to allow her feelings to go too far Allegiance: Shattered Job: Never truly had one, but she's starting to become a Jack of All Trades in order to survive Personality: Violet is a quiet individual, and not just because she lacks the ability to talk. The way she walks, moves about, the way she expresses herself, and just the natural feeling she radiates and others have when they glance at her or are just near her is simply very quiet. Like the world around her is softer than everywhere else. Muted. Even as far as to call it dulled. This fact is what makes her often appear to be gentle, or shy, or withdrawn – or even weak – or just a combination of all of them to all those who haven`t been succumbed by the darkness. (Though shades do more often mistake her for weak than anything else, and are constantly underestimating her, her capabilities, and her abilities.) That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have strong thoughts and feelings, it just that she seems to have trouble expressing them openly. This makes it easier to protect herself, as although she is guarded and has grown hard through the events that have happened in her life, her age and just who she is makes her so that she has this hidden, overly sensitive side that is often hurt. Reason why she never lets anyone in. Violet hates to be hurt on the inside – she can take any physical pain, but not emotional – and will never let herself to trust others. Everything is about survival for her. Which means if she has to do many scrupulous deeds in order to accomplish that, she will do it. Violet will always be number one. No one else had earned the right to matter. So people are just tools to reach her ends. Nothing more. Bio: Violet doesn’t like to think back to the life she left behind. Born into a small village with a failing Harmony splinter, in their fear of the approaching darkness, the people of the village became frenzied in their suspicions. So, not only causing the death of your mother during child birth warranted her hatred and fear, the fact that when it became obvious that Violet could not speak, she became the number one victim of everyone's fears. She was their scapegoat. Violet was abandoned in her own village – no one taking care of the child. She wasn’t even given a name! Still, all on her own, Violet managed to survive – spending her time between doing just that, wandering the outskirts of the village (few people would venture that far out), visiting the animals when she could, and making noises with her skilled fingers. (Not realizing of course that she was in fact making music.) It was a lonely existence – strained, but the young girl live well enough all alone, considering. That was until, just shy of midway through her life, an especially bad year arose. The villagers blamed Violet on the sick and weak livestock, the failing crops, the almost unusable water source, instead of the weakening splinter. Hysterical in their misdirected fears, the villagers forced Violet to leave the confines of the village before they were prompted to switch to her becoming a sacrifice. None followed her into the darkness – all believing she would perish quickly.
Six months passed, Violet did not die. She did not change, did not become a Shade, she was not even a little bit tainted by the darkness. By whatever miracle, she was surviving. And then, after eights of living in the darkened wastelands, Violet was found by a travelling caravan. They were average folk, and gave her the normal amount – the expected amount – of care. Still, to the ostracized girl, it was great deal of kindness they were giving. Violet felt safe, she felt blessed. They invited her into their rag-tag family and it was glorious. They taught her how to read and write (made it easier to communicate after all). They taught her where the best places to find untainted plants, and which were safe to eat. They taught her how to defend herself, they taught her self-worth. They christened the name “Violet” for her, after the flowers she loved to weave into her hair. They became her family.
Several years would pass, and while the caravan’s activities were dangerous and harsh, Violet had found a home. She became less guarded, trusted the few members that she travelled with. The now teenage girl was given another name – one more intimate and private, meant only for the members of her new family. One named after her skill with the rough cloves of green, able to bring out strange and interesting whistling noises from the plucks of greenery. Sweet Grass. Her family began to call her Sweet Grass. And things were good. That didn’t change the fact that what they did was extremely dangerous...
So, around what they believed to be Violet’s fifteen year of life, things got especially hard. Three members of her family died – killed by Shades or frightened humans. It was a difficult time for them all. It was also the time that the rest of the caravan began to realize that Violet wasn’t quite like other humans. This was fact clinched when Violet finally told them the truth of the time when they first found her. (They had always just assumed she had just entered the darkness – not had been living in for months.) This admission was Violet’s own downfall. It was not instantaneous, but things began to change. Her family began to regard her differently. Treat her differently. Not in a bad way, just more guarded, more distant, more wary. Violet began to worry, but she did not leave them or speak her concerns. This was her family... Why would they do anything bad to her? Her question was finally answered the next year, after the caravan lost a huge slew of people during a Shade raid. It didn’t help that the suppliers were dwindling. They could no longer keep travelling around anymore; the payout was no longer worth the trip. It was decided that the caravan would settle down, start new lives in Lumiere. Unfortunately, the supply business had been bad the past few years, and they had nothing and no means to start a new life with. Or that’s what Violet thought.
Less than a week travel from Lumiere, the caravan stopped at a villa that made up an entire village. There, Violet was shocked and destroyed. Meeting a most horrible – but extremely wealthy (he had to be considering he owned his only splinter for his place alone) – man, Violet learned where they were going to get the means to start a new life... They were going to sell her! She was distraught, in so much anguish. How could her family, the people she had come to love and trust, do this to her!? It just plain cruel... Violet could not believe it. But it was the unbearable truth. It had to be, after they forced her to eat large amounts of tainted food and drink gallons of tainted water. It had been painful, and she had been sick, but after a few days, Violet recovered – completely and totally unaffected. Untainted in any way. It was then that Violet learned that she was a Harmony. Learned she was not like other humans.
Learning this broke Violet in a way her family’s betrayal only caused deep cracks into her soul. The villagers had been right. Violet was meant to be feared, to be hated. It hurt so much more deeply than what a person can go without coming out damaged. She stopped struggling, and just resigned herself to her fate. She made no effort to stop the people she had once called family packing her back on the caravan, to ship her off to a buyer in Lumiere that the horrible man had directed them to. And, it just so happened, by some stroke of luck (on Violet’s part only), the caravan was attacked by a pack of Shades. It all went by so fast, but before Violet could grasp the situation – everyone was died. And she wasn’t. It might have been the hopelessness in her eyes, or the fact that she was a Harmony, or for some other strange reason – but, one of the Shades took pity on her. They all took pity on her. Mercy on her. And let her be.
If being betrayed and finding out she was not quite human had been like drowning, her being left to live by Shades had been like being hit by lightning. After the raid, Violet found purpose again. Found her self- worth. She would live, dammit! She would channel this growing rage towards the humans, all humans. No matter what she had to do. No matter what. She would do this. Weapons: As a Harmony, Violet can take anything that makes sound and turn it into a weapon.
She also always wears special metal finger coverings and a belt – which has four spools of uniquely tuned steel wires attached to rings on each side of her front. (Making it eight in total.) The rings are erect with the hole parallel to the ground. This allows easy access for Violet’s fingers to slip into the rings and pull the wires out, like they were strings on a guitar or something. The metal covering on her fingers makes it able for her to play these wires without brutally cutting up her most useful weapon of all. The wires are also so tightly wound, have so much tension in them, that as soon as Violet is no longer forcing them out (because it is an incredibly difficult to maintain out – but Violet is used to it after years of doing just that), they rewound right back up. Physical Power(s): As a Harmony, Violet has the gift over music. She can hear in perfect tune, and her ears are just naturally more sensitive and in tuned to her surroundings than the norm. This aptitude for music has also given her an incredible sense of rhythm, enabling Violet’s movements to be very graceful – as if she was dancing. This also allows her to have remarkable balance. It would be terribly difficult to make her lose her footing, even on a narrow ledge or one-footed.
But, obviously, what she can do with music is her biggest gift. Violet can do quite the amount with just a small measure of song. Purifying water and food and the small areas around her for sleeping and protection is the most needed ability she uses her music for. Violet doesn’t want to become a Shade after all. She also uses her music to kill any Shades or Shadows that threaten her safety. (But she holds no animosity to those who leave her be.) Violet is also known to use her music against unsuspecting humans. Mostly spinning songs that are terribly painful to the ears – causing anything ranging from headaches to actual deafness. Violet can seriously even cause people to have hallucinations, but it is rare and needs intricate notes that are time-consuming. Really, Violet mainly uses her music on other humans and non-Shades because she is only trying to escape from them. (Usually because Violet will have stolen supplies from them. [After she had gained their trust and spent some time travelling with them – to gage their belongings and if it would be worth taking anything from them.]) Others: Violet is ambidextrous. Appearance: Violet is a slender individual, and while she may have a few curves of a woman, her body is still undeveloped – almost gangly in nature. She hides most of her pale skin and limbs with loose-fitting dresses; and while they are made of whatever material she can find, they are still in good quality to last. Her hair has an indescribable colour, with each passing year making it a minute shade darker – meaning that the tips of her hair are incredibly light, gradually becoming darker, before reaching the darkest shade at her roots. The waves of her locks reach just at the end of her bosom, with all the hair past her shoulders snug tightly into two braids. The larger strands in her hair always cover the right side of her face. The eye that can be seen is a pale blue colour. As like a memorial, Violet always wears a wreath of purple and violet flowers, leaves, and sweet grass that have survived through the taint.
It is extremely difficult to tell at first glance – or second or even third – but Violet has a faint glow surrounding her like that of a splinter. This is what keeps her from turning into a Shade. (It is unknown if this is a special trait of hers, or of all Harmonies.)Violet~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~❖~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Username: SoulDiamond Name: Lavanya Kaur Nickname: The Snake Witch Age: 28 Gender: Female Race: Shade Orientation: Heterosexual; None exist and those that were are now dead. Allegiance: Shattered Job: Known as The Snake Witch, she is a herbalist. She makes ointments and antidotes as well. Personality: Lavanya has been known to allure people with her sense of grace and mystery. By far, she has seemed to charm many and horrify them with her personality and looks. The woman may act like an empty shell. Her eyes show nothing, keeping her secrets in her brilliant hazel orbs. If one were to look in her eyes, they would see nothing but dark void. They would wonder if this woman has any soul. This woman can say kind and warm words but there is little feeling in any of them. She is indeed cold much like her blood. She cares for no one despite what she says or promises. She is not one to smile or to make jokes. She has never been seen smiling but she hardly shows anger either. Her demeanor is always calm and thoughtful. Her words can confuse many to the point they might think she is insane but when she speaks directly to others she makes sure to bring out her point. If angered, she holds no mercy unless she finds a person useful enough not to kill. Bio: In truth, there are many stories on how she came to be. All are horrible tales of murder, envy, and hint of power that all humans crave for. Many say she was the youngest of a number of sisters. There was a never a mother in her tales but a single hard working father. The jobs changed from a farmer, baker, or black smith. All jobs given to him were all humble and hardworking. They lived in a town like many and the sisters were all known as herbalists. The eldest knowing the most would teach the younger. They say that when the snake witch was human she had a huge talent in learning and improving the herbal remedies taught to her. She had even created ointments for the sick and perfumes for the wealthy women. However, there were rumors that at night the young women would do dark rituals. Some say the rituals were done with wine or blood. Some say it was goat's blood and others would say it was human's. In secret, they danced without music or others would mention that the eldest knew how to produce music. It was said that with these dark rituals it made them flourish in beauty, health and wealth. Time had gone by and it was said that the eldest of the family grew to be a lovely woman and the one of the sons' of the wealthiest family had asked her hand in marriage. Rumors had floated that the other sisters would be wedded off as well because it was said their beauty was like no other. However, human's envy worked into play and the whispers of their dark rituals also became a popular topic. Months passed and the town harvest was not as plentiful as the year before but the Kaur family's wealth never ceased. The town grew in its jealousy and went to the family's house. Some say it was during the dawn or night. Some say it they caught them together as a family and some say it was during the sisters' dark ritual. Some tales tell of them being burned alive while the youngest was able to escape. Other say they were poisoned and the youngest ran off in the dark to find a cure since no one would help them. Other tales explained they were hung out in the darkness outside of town, where the youngest was able to cut the rope with knife she carried for the ritual. They say she transformed then upon seeing a snake. Others say she was bitten by the snake and other say she ate it when it was alive. They say after she was transformed, she had poisoned the town's water supply, or did she burn the town down? Or was it that she slaughtered everyone? The tales of her past are all different yet the same. However, all of them say that if one were to meet her it was best to please her by buying something from her or giving her one of your splinters. If not, she'll take your head as her prize. Weapons: Curved twin daggers are held by her belts at the back. They are beautiful and looked like they were craved with the finest skill. Their guard and pummel are gold while the handle is golden and with a rough fine green cloth. Their sheath is leather and look branded with a interesting design. She knows how to use them well and they say she uses them to chop off people's heads. Physical Power(s): Her senses are like a king cobra. She can easily bite someone and her poison can kill a human in a matter of about three hours, hitting at the nerves and paralyzing her victim. Her fork tongue can act like her guide as if can sense other animals around her. She is also sensitive to vibration in the earth and her eye-sight is enhanced like a king cobra. She had even has the ability to unhinge her jaw but she rarely bites anyone. Usually the one that do the biting are the cobra at the end of her hair. Her strength is also inhuman and her tail can easily kill a normal human if they were took a hit by it. Others: She always carries with her a bag of herbs, ointments and antidotes. She also has a sketch book with pencil with notes on her findings. Appearance: Lavanya (image is Naga witch by yaichino has brilliant hazel eyes that are from a light brown, gold and a hint of green with dark thick lashes. Her skin is slightly tan and the marks on her face are black. Her long dark brown hair reaches her mid-back until they turn into cobras that extend past her human torso. Her hair is always put in a slow pony tail. Her scales are a light brown with yellow bands and the cobras at the end of her hair reflect the same color. Her clothing is a assortment of beige, browns, and gold. The one gem at her chest has a hue from yellow, gold to red.
Username: The Prototype Alex Mercer Name: Sorin Markov Nickname: None. Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Shade Orientation: Heterosexual. Allegiance: Shattered Job: Used to be a farmer's son. Personality: Sorin is a torn and sundered individual, he is one of the few Shades that still strives to be "human" and suffers for it. Due to this physical pain and mental taxation Sorin has developed a personality disorder, with one personality being the Shade, one being the human. When he displays the human side of himself he is a caring person who simply wants things to go back to the way they were. He just wants to love and be loved in return, he doesn't want to be apart of this mad hunt for the shards nor does he want to see humanity end. He often tries not to harm other living beings while he is "human" and will avoid most confrontations outright.
But there is also the secondary personality, the one that will normally take hold when he is at his weakest or when he is under extreme amounts of stress. Often this personality will end up being the dominant in situations because people distrust and despise him. This personality is ruthless and mad, reveling in just watching the whole world burn quietly in it's darkness. He is intelligent and this makes him more dangerous in this state, he is more potent and prone to lashing out without warning and doing so dangerously. He is like an act of God, a force of nature, a naturally re-occurring disaster of calamitous proportions. Bio: Born to a farmer, one of the most important parts of communities ever since the Shadow began pouring into the world when the Melody first shattered. As the son of a farmer he was expected to take up his father's trade, which he was more then happy to do. Growing up Sorin had always been a caring child who took care of his three other siblings, being the eldest of course. His mother died when giving birth to his youngest sister, he took her loss the most harshly but never seemed to show it. It did however cause a rupture that would eventually become his split persona, however it is too early to speak of such things.
Sorin's community was one of the ones that obviously was built around a shard of the Melody, people lived day to day aware of the danger from without but not of that which lied within. Sorin would sometimes see his father sneaking off to the edge of town where it was most dangerous and not returning for hours on end. It would appear that his father was simply gathering water from the well just on the edge of the light that was used as a last resort usually. Since of course the water would have to be purified by the light of the Melody before it was safe to drink. Sorin would honestly think nothing of it because he was to naive and loved his father very much, that was his fatal flaw.
It seemed that his father had made a deal with the devil, so to speak, in exchange for doing something terrible the Shadow promised his father he would be reunited with his wife. Of course the Shadow had every intention of allowing them to be together, however it didn't say how. His father was poisoning the community's water slowly and wasn't caught until it was almost to late, but the damage was done. Sorin and all but his youngest sister where exposed to the tainted water and thus forced to leave into the taint out of fear. His father was burned in the center of the village screaming his dead wife's name.
Sorin however was the furthest along the transformation process, his siblings where simply consumed but the Shadow left him alone to change. He would grow leathery wings, a tail, his eyes would become gold and his body would produce red and black scales over most of it. With this his personality would finally fracture and split in two, one being the caring young man he had always been, the other being the bloodthirsty mad-man the Shadow made him. When he was not the Shade he would roam the Shadow watching over travelers bold enough to brave the darkness. However when he was the Shade he would prey upon those unlucky souls stupid enough to walk out into the darkness unprotected. Weapons: An old farming scythe that he took from his father's farm. Physical Power(s): He is exponentially strong, he has the strength of mythological creatures once known as Draconis, fire breathing monsters of myth. His skin his tough almost as steel and riddled with shiny red and black scales, however there are exposed fleshy spots that may be penetrated. He also has two glands that grew into his mouth when the shadow took over that secrete separate chemicals that produce natural napalm. Then lastly he retains two red and black leathery wings that usually are formed to his body so well one can't even notice they are there. He is also resistant to magical attacks though there are of course not many magic users left in the world. Others: N/A Appearance: Sorin
Before you ask, Katty, I don't know the answer. I assume that you can, though. Just PM the profile to Toxias, I spose.
Hi all. I'm still here, just waiting for people to fill up the Shattered posts.
Although technically this rp could run solely by the Seeker side, since most of my planning has gone into that side.
So, opinions? I'll be more than happy to go ahead and start the rp if you guys want.
Sorry I haven't sent my profile in. Been kind of swamped with working on six profiles at the moment. (I'm almost done though.)
If you want, I don't see the problem... Maybe we could start out in the Mini, then transfer over when we get more people. Let's see what Sparrow thinks.
Yeah, that's a good idea, Katty - let's start out in the mini-roleplays subforum right now and move it later. I am very eager to begin this one, especially since the others are slow. So - let's do it as soon as possible!
Okay, I'll open up a thread in the mini-roleplay forum then! 3nodding
Katty, if need be I'll play an NPC Shattered until we get more people. ^_^
The roleplay will start off in the largest city currently known to human kind: Lumiere. It's population is about 5,000.
From here we can either assume that the Seekers have met or that they meet in Lumiere. I'm not going to introduce my character until the other three leave Lumiere, but I will play NPC...which I now realize I should've made a post for XD
