Hello there my fellow Moonies! Welcome to the Sailor Moon: The Anime Discussion Thread.

I started this thread because I love the Sailor Moon anime and it is what got me into different kinds of anime and manga. I know it is the same story with a lot of you, so I thought it would be fun to have a thread where we could discuss our thoughts and feelings about the many aspects of it:

* The different seasons and what each one meant to us;
* Which episode(s) are our favorites;
* Character changes from the manga to anime;
* Things about the dubbed or subtitled versions that we like/don't like;
* Which moments in the anime that really touched us;
* Which movies and specials we liked or didn't like;

I'll start us off with the first season of Sailor Moon:

This was actually the second season I saw, the first being Sailor Moon R. When I saw the first season on Cartoon Network, I didn't really know what to think of it. I found the original voice actress annoying (mostly because I was already used to the one in R) but I liked how it told the story of pretty much everything.

One of my favorite episodes from the first season is actually the first one.^-^ I love the scene where Usagi(Serena)'s mom boots her out of the house because she failed her test. The English version is funny, but if you have ever seen the Japanese version it is just hilarious. Then I love how Usagi gets so distracted by the arrival of Tuxedo Kamen(Mask).

The Hercules(blue cat) episode is probably one of the most random episodes from the first season. It starts out with Luna running from an army of cats, then shows one with metal teeth biting her tail. Then Zoisite is running down a cramped sewer line being chased by rats. What I love most of all is Usagi is sitting in that little girls room playing a Sailor V game. Hahaha!

What are some of your favorite or least favorite episodes of season one?

S. S is the best because of the music and the arrival of the outer senshi.

Haha! I love that moment too! My favorite character is Haruka. For me she is most relatable. It took me awhile to get used to how they looked in the manga, but I like the differences between the art. There are some artbook pictures of Haruka and Michiru that I love^-^

I <3 the 1st episode...it made me laugh so much.^w^

Sailor Moon Stars is my favorite because it's the only session that has not beed ruined by English dubbing. >D

I'm torn on which season was my favorite to be honest. Each one had some element to it I adored. R had Ann, Al and the four sisters which were some of my favorite villains. S introduced my favorite senshi of all time Sailor Saturn. Super S has my favorite villain Fisheye and stars has the starlights and Siren and I adored them. If I had to choose one though it would probably be S. Everything about that season made it hard to stop watching. The unique means by which the monsters were created, the awesome villains, introduction of the outers and most of all Sailor Saturn's epic appearance at the end of the season. I was left in awe by the end of that season and have re watched it multiple times.

Yeah sometimes I feel a tad foolish for crying during some Sailor Moon scenes, but at the same time I don't. That show is more than just an anime to me. It opened up a whole new world of things to me and some things in the Sailor Moon story are just amazing.^-^
