User Image Dusk would be coming soon, the dull golden lion observed, his position under one of the few trees on the savanah not at all concealed as he usually liked to be. The grass was short here, and the land somewhat dusty under the tree, as he assumed other animals had made this their temporary home for years on end, and had probably worn away any growth that could have sprung up. That wasn't importnat though, as the lion wasn't opposed to getting dirt on his pelt, just as he wasn't all that worried about anything in particular. Surely he was one to keep to himself and not bother with other's business, which had been working well for the male for quite some time. However, there was just one drawback to living by yourself, as he sorely noted from this point on. There was always a lack of some convienent mook around to fight with.

Its not that he was a particularly battle driven specimen, but the male did get those urges. You know the ones- where you feel like you just have to rip someone's throat out and bath in the blood of your enemy kind of feeling. Don couldn't help but smirk at that last part, finding it all too melodramatic an example to be using for how he was feeling right now. Sure, it'd be fantastic to sharpen his skill against an opponent right about now, but in no means was he wanting to disembowel anyone. As fun as that sounded, the lion did have morals, albeit some that were skewed into a weird, twisted direction, but none that would ever constitute such disturbing behavior for no reason at all. His thoughts continued on that direction for awhile, until the lion grew sick with thinking, as it was not what he had wanted to do in the first place.

Oh no, not at all. With a flick of his tail in an almost aggitated sense the male unsheathed his claws and scratched them into the dirt. This continued for a few moments before he pushed himself up in a rush, swiping at the ground and leaving large gouges in the earth. As pent up as he was feeling now, he was certain that these feelings would pass soon enough. A low growl emmited from his throat as he sharply turned to walk away from the tree and stalk around the area, hoping the movement would at least help to rid himself of this restless feeling.

Angusho watched this male move, smiling faintly to himself. The animal wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do. Clearly the young animal was looking for something to do. The restless nature of his movements was more than enough to clue the aged beast in on that. But just what was this fellow looking for? Someone to chat with, perhaps. A friend to hear him out and let him get whatever young problems he had off his furry chest. Or maybe he was looking for someone to love. For one night, or for an eternity. The lack of a female, or a male who was he to judge, could be what was making this animal look so down in the dumps. Or maybe, just maybe, this guy was looking for some kind of confrontation. Angusho had seen that look in the eyes of animals before. Animals who had foolishly sought to challenge one of the strongest animals in the rogue lands. But it had been years since anyone came to challenge him on their own. These days, he did the fight-seeking, the infamy of his name dying as his age progressed.

No one who knew his legacy had lived long enough to spread the story far. Something he regretted a bit. Perhaps next time he would consider letting them live long enough to tale others of his horrible antics before slitting their throats.

How could his name live on with no one to speak of it?

Still, he wasn’t going to let this animal go wanting. Not when he looked so desperate for something to happen. No matter what he really wanted, it was a fight he was soon going to deal with. Moving forward, Angusho grinned, his ears perking forward as he got himself close enough for his low, raspy voice to be heard.

“Those claws look ready for battle,” he said absently, without bothering to introduce himself, “are you looking for a fight? If you are, I might be able to oblige you. Be warned, though, a scuffle with the likes of me could very well end your life tonight.”

In all his misguided attention to himself and this feeling, Don had managed to be snuck up on it would appear. A sign that he was far more distracted than he would usually allow himself to be, and that wasn't necissarily a good thing when came to matters of being caught off guard. Although the sudden appearance of someone else managed to jolt his attention, outwardly the lion was as slow to react as ever. Of course, the first thing he did was turn around, not at all about to leave his back turned to a fellow with such an introduction as that.

"A fight is certainly what I'm looking for", the striped male returned, spotting the dark creature of a lion who may very well have been a specter of his mind. Showing exactly at the right time? If he were religious, or any sort of spiritual nut he would have believed him to be some fathom of his desire, but Don was willing to accept that this guy was real, and most of all serious in his offer. "Fair enough, I've been warned", Don huffed, the words coming on the edge of a stiffled roar with how ready he was to release this pent up feeling. He did not bother to extend the same sort of warning, for he had no intention of killing the other, but that was no reason to hold back anything in his opinion.

He couldn't quite gaige just how experianced this lion must have been in combat, he was older certainly, but Don had neither the eye nor the know-how to speculate on the matter. For all he knew, this was some pride's war general prowling the very cusp of their territory, or perhaps someone who was just as restless as he was. Either way, Don couldn't quite place the motive, but he wasn't about to refute the matter. Even now, as he prepared to go on the attack with his muscles tensing and his gaze settling on his opponent he couldn't help keeping himself slightly inward as he speculated futher. A habit that he neither encouraged nor denied himself.

Good- this male was itching for a fight.

That was something he really wanted. More than that, it seemed like this young lion wouldn’t prove to be too much of a challenge to him. Then again, he always felt the younger crowd to be inferior to his skills, even before they spoke to him. Probably because he was going to find his son and kill him… he couldn’t be thinking that younger lions might actually beat him. This guy seemed too eager, anyway. Perhaps he wasn’t too experienced in the fighting department and was thinking it would be some kind of amazing thing to have happen.

That could be put into perspective very quickly.

Smiling, keeping his look rather casual, he chuckled faintly, tilting his head slightly to one side. “Alright, then, kid, why don’t you go ahead and show me what you’re made of? I’m feeling pretty generous right now, so I’ll let you have the first attack.” And it was a good way for him to see what the other’s fighting style was like, not that he usually took that into consideration.

He was more of an offensive fighter than a defensive fighter, so he didn’t take much time for strategy.
