I've been afraid to post this on the Comic Creators forum, mostly because I'm not entirely ready to begin releasing it on a fixated schedule, due to finals and all. I'm going to see what people think if I post it here, though. Hopefully you'll like it, but critique is much appreciated.

Melody is just a normal girl. People just don't seem to like her, but there's nothing abnormal about her at all! Her schedule includes school, watching television, and getting hurtled off cliffs. Perhaps entering a school for dead people wasn't the best of ideas?

Just a little side note, but if anyone had any idea how to resize a banner to the exact dimensions I want, I would much appreciate it. So tell me what you think. I've got chapter two pretty much done, but I only have chapter one on smackjeeves. :l

>w< Thank the Lord that some one has finally commented on this thread! Believe it or not, the black eye was actually an accident. I'd smudged the page with my eraser, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it off. So instead, I improvised and looking back now, I would have given her a black eye to begin with!

I know, my backgrounds kind of suck sweatdrop I'm working on it, and in the next chapter I really challenged myself with a scene of complete background. It took me seven hours to get what I have done of that page, and it's still not finished.

I'm definitely trying to set this comic apart from all the other general cliche mangas out there. There are a lot of stereo types about anime, but I love the style of the art so much that I just can't resist using it. I also brought back giant hair into the mix. >w<

As for the panel and word balloon layouts, I did this chapter before reading Scott McCloud's books. Hopefully that will improve my work a lot! ;3

I'm glad that I managed to snag your attention as a reader at least! My main goal with this comic is to improve my art skills and make people laugh while doing it.
