Annabelle blinked up with curious eyes at the seemingly never-ending field of grass around her, her ears pressed back and her muzzle raised, appreciating the soft wind that blew her way. The sun was warm against her back, the grass rippled against her toes, and for the first time in her life, she seemed truly content. No longer was she forced to be in Shadow’s, the male she would never call her father, presence. No longer was Nani, her coward of a mother, close by, apologetic for Shadow’s behavior, but unwilling to go against him. And neither wre her siblings, who, although not disliked for their personalities, only reminded of the past she wished away.

It was not in her nature to feel sad for leaving the only family she had ever had. Some might have felt it, despite the fact that it was commonplace, something most did if they chose to start a family of their own. But she felt little happiness when thoughts strayed to them. The only emotion that could resemble such a feeling was the relief she had felt when she was old enough to care for herself and leave them.

And here she was, past the borders of the Eastern lands she had been raised on, and into the Neutral. She looked on with bright, light-blue eyes, an enthusiastic, almost pup-like smile plastered on her face. Today would be the start of her new life.

Slowly, the only son of the litter took an inhaling breath, taking in the after-storm earthy scent. He stretched out, ivory claws digging into the dirt beneath him. Hiro glanced back at his mother as she heeded her children of being safe, soon on her way to returning back to sleep.

Shaking out his predominantly gray fur, steely gray eyes watched where his youngest sister wandered, though his thoughts were leagues away. What would meeting they're father be like? What would he be like? Would he be excited to see them? Or, and he hated thinking like this, would he not?

He moved out after the dark form of his sister as she was out of his sight. Slowing down, he came to a rest beside her. Hiro's ears perked as he craned his neck in the direction she was looking. Was that.. another helix?





Smiling at her mother, the eldest daughter of the green omega smiled as Maizey drifted back to sleep, trotting out of their home to be with her siblings. Keeta loved her mother, but a part of her was still insatiably curious. She wanted to know more about her father; wanted to meet him, to see what he was like. To ask why he had left them.

Mentally shaking her head, she sniffed at the fresh air. Surely, if her siblings could keep hope, so could she? That, perhaps, he just didn't know about them; and welcome them with open paws.

Leaping to her paws, she trotted after her siblings, her lengthy tail swaying behind her happily. It was longer and thinner then her siblings, but it made her look like mama. In fact, she was a lot like her mother; more then she suspected she was alike to her father. The deep violet crystal bounced against her leg as she stopped beside her youngest sister, glancing up at her. "What is it, Zah?"

Zahra paused shfited on her back haunches, looking much like a meerkat scouting. She wobbled. "It's another!" She muttered, bi-colored eyes peering curiously. "It's a girl!" She yipped, launching forth like a spring into a run. She glanced back at her siblings as she ran. When she did look where she was going it was almost too late. Her front paws launched her back in a horse-like rear. She fell onto her back, the long hairs on her docked tail creating a very comical spectical as it flopped in a wag.

She waggled to her paws. "Hi!" She chirped, head tilting in curiosity. "I'm Zahra Caira! But you can call me Zar. I'm on an adventure with my brother and sister, Keeta and Hiro. We're going to find our father cause he doesn't know we were born. Who are you? Why're you pink? Is your mom pink? Are YOU on an adventure? Where did you come from, cause I've never seen you before and I've been all around this place. Like, one time we went out with my mom to hunt and I almost caught a rabbit but it ran away! Don't you think they are too fast? I wonder wh-" Her mouth snapped shut. "Oh... Sorry.. I tend to talk a lot when I'm excited..." She said, grinning Sheepishly. She sat down, giving a small yelp as she sat on her tail. "Ow!" She grumbled. "It's sorta short so I jab it sometime." She explained, fidgiting happily.

Her attention was, unfortunately, focused on Annabelle. The poor girl didn't have a chance. Her attention shifted, was that a butterfly?! It flew by her nose, her eyes trained intently on it as it passed her nose. She snapped, but her jaws missed the creature, landing around air.

Annabelle sat back, stunned, but not the least bit bothered by the onslaught of questions. Back with her family, most of her siblings had been reluctant to speak out, even when Shadow wasn’t around, and to discover there were some who could talk a lot was more interesting than irritating, in her opinion.

“Hello. My name’s Annabelle,” she replied, ears quirking curiously when she noticed the strange tails two of the helixes before her had. But she tried not to stare, lest it be considered rude, and turned to the dark female, tail raising in alarm momentarily when the helix cried out. The female seemed fine, though, and so she continued.

“Zahra Caira,” she repeated, as if to confirm, or test it out. “I’ll try to answer all of your questions, but I may miss some. My memory’s not that impressive,” she said, flattening her ears modestly and giving a small, apologetic laugh. “My mother’s pink, and, yes, I’m on an adventure. I come from the Eastern lands, where the bamboo shoots grow. I hunted a rabbit once there, too, strangely enough. They really are fast," she replied with another smile, answering practically all the questions directed at her. The first, she purposely chose to pretend to forget, and hoped Zar wouldn’t mind. She simply didn’t want to lie to the first helixes he had met on her journey, but she didn’t want to get all huffy around them, either, talking about her good-for-nothing father and how he had been too much of a coward to rescue her and the rest of her siblings when he had chosen to take two others.
