Nanashi had left his family to fend for themselves for a while, content that his brothers would look out for them. Afterall, it was what they did. The formal male had groomed his coat well that morning and it was all nicely in place, meaning he was presentable to be out walking. It was important, he reasoned,to look his best and sighed to himself, as his paws hit the ground with a steady pace.

There was no rush to his step as his feet brushed the thick grass of the ground, the sun was out but speckled with clouds was the sky and, as he peered up, in the distance there appeared to be rain clouds looming.

Rain. Wonderful. Nanashi hated rain. Sighing again, as was a common occurrence for the serious male, he unconsciously began to frown as he walked.

Jolteon left her little tree for an afternoon stroll. Dirt covered every inch of her bright coat and specks of red dotted her paws, mouth and chin, courtesy of last night's kill. She licked her lips with a smile, happy that her belly was full for once.

The cheetah stretched her paws out infront of her with a yawn before slapping her lips together and repeating the process for her hind legs. Now that she was stuffed, Jolt felt the need for a nap coming on. However, looking up at the sky, she knew she wouldn't get the chance. At least she wouldn't have to clean up today; nature would do that for her!

As she jogged around on her return trip, she spotted a darker cheetah, but decided not to bother him. Not everyone was as friendly as they appeared, and right now, her tummy couldn't handle a fight, so she trotted past some ways away on his side.

Nanashi had spied the flash of a rather bright pelt from the corner of his eye and looked curious as to why she was out when it was obviously not a day for walking. He was bored, but not lonely enough to approach when when she seemed like she didn't like company. After all, she had avoided him.

Well, at least she had a good sense of self-preservation, he could have been a mass murderer or something. He smirked to himself, and didn't bother to change his path, which was in the direction she was going.

He wasn't stalking her though, but he watched her move with an amused look as he walked the same direction she did.

Jolteon licked her dry lips and shook out the shivers that ran across her shoulders. She hadn't given the male much thought before, however, when she look over her shoulder to see him following her she did a double take.

Coincidence. Yes, that had to be in. She made a sharp right, cutting horizontally across the ground, following the scent of water. Ever once in a while she would look back, more curious than anything as to what he had to have done to be cursed with a pelt that dark.

Nanashi would deny that he was enjoying this...game, of following her, though he wasn't following her on purpose. She seemed to realise he was there, and made a sharp right.

He considered keeping on his path, but knew there was nothing in that direction, and the scent of water drifted across his nose, so he turned sharply to follow her, further down the track so it would not seem like he was directly stalking her.

This game was starting to become a real annoyance. Jolteon didn't have time to play around with some male, one who probably had motives that didn't involve a simple drink of water. She looked over her shoulder, violet eyes searching.

When she approached the small stream, the agile female made sure to keep her shoulders straight and her small body upright. She wasn't going to give into anything he was planning on dishing out. Not if she could help it.

Nanashi approached the water, further down from where she was, seeming to ignore her altogether as he lowered his face to the water, lapping at it to quench his thirst. It didn't take long for him to be satisfied with the drink and he raised himself back up, stretching lesuirely.

Well, he suppose he couldn't be rude. He glanced towards where she was standing. "Greetings," he called out to her calmly, wondering if she would react badly to his greeting, or continue to worry that he was some type of stalker.

Jolteon turned towards him and licked a dribble of water from her lips. Her dry, dusty coat begged for a bath, but for the moment she felt being that vulnerable was a bad idea. "Hello, stranger. I think I should give you fair warning, in case your plotting anything; I'm a fighter."

She stood with her spine a little straighter, proud at herself and a little more at ease with the situation. Maybe she was over-reacting and it was just coincidence that they were in the same place. Fate, even. However, she wasn't going to take a chance that she was wrong.

Nanashi, in response to her rather...ridiculous statement, did something horribly inelegant, and snorted. He stared at her, wondering if she was actually serious, but from her straight posture and no-nonsense like attitude, he had a feeling that this wasn't just a bad joke.

Good to know,” he remarked dryly, keeping his posture relaxed. “However, I am curious to what you were thinking I was plotting?” This was rather amusing, even if she didn't intend for it to be a joke. Him, plotting something on her? Not likely, but he had a feeling she might be offended if he said that out loud, so he instead just waited for her response.

Jolteon turned up her nose at his snort. What kind of response was that? He either thought her insane or barely a threat at all; neither one she would have accepted eagerly.

"I don't see where thats any of your business," she retorted haughtily, head aloft. "Look at where you are? Why shouldn't I assume the worst, when the worst might happen? In any case, I'm sorry for thinking ill of you."

Nanashi gave her a sideways glance, still more amused than insulted by her accusation. “Where I am?” He repeated. “I am just out wandering, hoping to find some water. It wasn't as if I had purposely followed you from your home or something else foolish.

He glanced at her. “I appreciate your apology, but it seems to be a good thing, for a female to jump to that conclusion rather than that I was harmless.” He gave a smirk. He wasn't exactly harmless, but he didn't intend to harm her, so he supposed that made it okay. He stretched leisurely, eager to keep moving. She wasn't as interesting as he had hoped she would be. Too paranoid, he decided. “Perhaps you might tell me your name, as a further apology for doubting me so horribly? I am Nanashi.”

Jolteon frowned and glared at him. Did he purposely try to be an a** or was it natural? Either way, he was seriously starting to rub her the wrong way.

"For a female?" She repeated with a growl. What was he thinking? "You said it yourself, I haven't 'doubted you horribly'; I was just being cautious." She rolled her shoulders, popping each one in turn and curled her tail, eager for this meeting to be over. "My name's Jolteon."

Nanashi looked at her curiously when she growled, feeling like he had said it himself and frowned. “Yes, for a female. Females are more likely to be taken advantage of by dangerous rogues than males might be, so it's right to be cautious.” He said this rather matter-of-factly, even if it was a very old-timed view of females.

He nodded. “Interesting name, Jolteon,” he remarked. He could have said it was a pleasure to meet her, or something other than that, but it wasn't exactly true. She was too prickly for his tastes, and too quick to judge. He sniffed. “Well, I will be off now. I would hate for you to think I was harassing you, as well as having stalked you,” he smiled, somewhat tensely and hoped she would let him go easily. He wasn't the most social creature normally, but this female was simply not his choice of company.

Jolteon felt it wise to completely ignore his first comment. Anything she said at this point would come out defenesive or arrogant; neither of which she wanted to represent.

"Thank you," She quipped. Her paws itched to be back on the move and she was quick to grant them access. He was too stuck up, and proper for her liking. "Goodbye, then." Without anything more to say to him, she gave him a quick nod and started out on her way.
