Eolande carefully balanced her selection of books in the cradle of one arm. "This is always a bad idea." She grumbled to herself as she turned the corner of the science fiction section and wandered down the row of brightly colored manga's. Her eyes slid from cover to cover with a nearly pained expression. She wanted to just pile them into her arms right now. Eolande paused at a particularly interesting section. "Mmmm." She hummed with a small grin on her lips. Boy love. Oh how could she resist? With a small blush she added a plastic wrapped book to her pile and headed towards the check out counter. She had a nice pile now to last her the next few nights. Two cookbooks. A new book on music techniques. Four fantasy novellas, one of which was certainly a heavy romance, a book on sewing, and of course her manga. "This should definitely last me three or four nights." She spoke to herself in a attempt to deter herself from browsing for any more books. Maybe Marlon had some books she had not read yet that she could borrow?

Lucienne sat near the front of the bookstore, in the coffee shop with her nose stuck in the latest addition to her favorite author's newest series. Devyn was just about to kiss Alix for the first time when something caught her eye. A girl stood at the checkout line with a big pile of books.

"Just a few nights?" she murmured, mostly to herself. "Sounds like me..." She had been known to devour books like nobody's business, going through nearly a dozen books in a week at one point. She continued to watch the girl's pile of books, her cheeks flushing a light red at the manga on top. It was one she knew well, not to mention owned several copies of at home. It was her one guilty pleasure. Okay, so she had more than one guilty pleasure when it came to books, the one currently in her hand one of the many. Leaning a little closer, Lucienne squinted her eyes; the better to see the titles of the fantasies she saw. She leaned a tiny bit too far and ended up spilling her ice water all over the skirt of her uniform. Shrieking in cold surprise, Lucienne leapt from her seat and brushed with her one free hand at the freezing liquid on her skirt. "Oh, no. This is just not my day..." she said, squeezing water out of the fabric with napkins now.

Eolande laid her books on the counter and watched as they were rung out and placed in a plastic bag. The total on the digital screen jumped up in little leaps and bounds. It seemed the cheapest book she was purchasing was the manga! Well, if she was going to buy anything at all that was worth owning, it was definitely books. As she dug into her pocket to pay for her purchase, a loud cry of surprise and obvious dismay distracted her. Eolande handed a folded bunch of slightly wrinkled bills to the clerk and turned her attention to the girl that had made the noise. "Heh." She could not help but laugh slightly. "You should consider yourself lucky that is just water. I mean, sitting at a coffee shop like that you could have spilled something that would have scalded or stained." She remarked to the girl. The clerk handed her some change and a receipt, which Eolande merely shoved into her pocket without glancing at. Hooking three fingers into the plastic bag, she swung it over her shoulder and wandered over to glance around the coffee shop. There really was no reason she should hurry on home she supposed. A nice drink would be nice before she went home maybe?

Lucienne lifted her gaze from her soaking skirt to the girl at the counter, an embarrassed flush darkening her pale cheeks. "Yeah. I guess you're right," she said softly. Continuing to wring her skirt out into napkins, Lucienne kept her precious book tucked under an arm. No way was she going to set it on the table where it could get wet or, gods forbid, stolen. She glanced up every few moments, just to see where the other girl was. From the girl, her eyes kept falling to the bag of books, her curiousity burning to know what books were being hidden inside the bag. It was this curiousity that pushed the normally shy girl to ask, "So what's in the bag?" softly, barely above a murmur.

Eolande looked over the menu and the prices. Did she want mocha? Or vanilla? Oh hey...they had a peppermint coffee? She heard the soft murmured question from the girl and turned to look over at her. "Well. Books." She replied cheekily, though added a rather wide smile so it did not seem like she was trying to be rude. "I got some cookbooks, one on sewing. A few fantasy books and a manga with hopefully naked boys being naughty."

The red head rolled her eyes at the smartass comment. As she listened to the list the girl gave, Lucienne nodded. "I saw the manga," she murmured. "It's a good series." Mentally, she cursed herself. Why was she speaking so much? It only ever got her into trouble anyway. She started debating the pros and cons of just doing a cut and run. It would probably be much less embarrassing than standing here in a soaking wet uniform skirt talking about yaoi manga with someone she'd never met before.

"Thanks." Eolande spoke as she glanced down at her bag. "I have another series by the same writer and I really enjoyed it." With a upwards glance of her head, she smiled faintly at the other girl. "So...were you drinking water because you don't like the coffee here? If so then I think I'll skip ordering. There is nothing worse then ruining a good book purchase then by following it with a bitter and unpleasant drink."

Lucienne pursed her lips and shook her head. Looks like she was staying for now. "I don't like coffee at all. Plus water is healthier," she said. "What other series?" She'd read most of the one from that author, though it'd been a long time since she had. Sherrilyn Kenyon's books had recently grabbed her attention much more than any yaoi could.

"Healthier, but it certainly doesn't have much in the area of flavor." Eolande said with a small giggle. "I'm a really big fan of things that taste like chocolate or grape. Hey, they put water in those drinks so it's the same right?" Smiling a bit more easily she placed her hand on top of her book purchases. "I read her series Knight, My Rose. It's a totally wonderful series about a knight from a enemy kingdom who falls in love with the princess. So he pretends to be a gardener so he can be close to her and absolutely pines over her as she is engaged to this ghastly count who is so so so cute but utterly gay and only marrying her because he wants to be king." Eolande crossed her hands over her chest and squealed slightly. "And the count falls in love with the knight gardener and get's so so mad when his advances are spurned. I read it like five times!"
