READY?! FIGHT!
On screen, the two contestants clashed in a flurry of spandex tights, electricity, shouting battle attacks and fur. Captain Pidgeot, controlled by AI, launched attack after attack at the Pikachu practically flying all over one end of the stadium; but spamming Quick Attack proved useful. The electric pokemon swiftly fled out of reach and grabbed the pokeball that had dropped into view along with some food. Tossing it at it's opponent gave it, not only a headache, but the Suicune that jumped out also sent the Captain flying over the edge.
Battle Over! Winner is....PIKACHU!
With a sigh of relief, Jen put the remote down beside her on the couch and stretched aching fingers. Button mashing was brutal on the hands, and fighting on hard mode? Dont even wanna talk about it.
Its amazing for venting though. At that though, Jen let a small smile touch her lips as her fingers reached up and scratched a pokemon under the chin. Feathers fluffing out at the affection, the strange-colored pidgey cooed and leaned into the touch. Granted, Pidgeys didnt fall into the field of Electric pokemon, but Jen thought she'd be able to figure something out. "What do ya think, little guy? Should I try and go for the high score? Knock this "Newton" guy off his throne?" Newton....Probably someone down in the Science Department. She usually saw two or three of them hanging out in here on their days off or during free time.
Yamir wurbled his agreement and jumped down from the back of the couch to his humans' shoulder to nibble on her earlobe. "No no, you just had one." She flicked him on the beak gently. "I just gave you one not even five minutes ago. Try again in a few hours."

"Wait up! Newton, hey!" Shouted a voice far down the hallway, accompanied by the slapping of thick rubber soles on tile. There was a groan but no more shouting, just the slow trudge of footsteps.
A Drifloon ducked into the gaming room and stopped suddenly.
"Floon?" Who was using his fun-box? Puffed up with indignation, the Drifloon floated over to this violator of fun in a huff.
"FLOON FLOON!" He shouted and raised his tassels in the air.

A Drifloon? Jen raised an eyebrow at the upset pokemon, smirking a little at the flailing of tassel-like arms and the puffed-put body. Something had set him off, and Jen had a feeling she had something to do with it somehow.
"What? Whats wrong, little guy?" Yamir, angry by the aggressive display towards his human, fluffed himself out to make himself look bigger and flaps his wings in a shooing motion. He stopped at the glance sent in his direction. "Dont worry, little dude. Its not like we've done anything wrong." The next statement was directed back at Newton as Yamir went to investigate who was shouting from the hallway. "I dont think you can use the game station, little guy. Besides, I got here first. Fair is fair."

Nyx finally reached the game room. She stopped abruptly as she was met with a black and white Pidgey.
"Huh. You're interesting. Anyway! Newton! You need to stop going a head of me. You've been pulling so many disappearing acts lately, its not that I don't mind waking up with random eggs outside of my room, but for crying out loud-" She stopped in her rant as she noticed her Drifloon.
"Newton! Watch your language!" Newton looked at her and wiggled his body as if to say 'you watch YOUR language'. "Don't you take that attitude with me. I'll put you back in your ball and you won't have any games for a week. Now come on, be nice."
Newton deflated quite a lot and floated down onto the couch where he looked to be sulking. Nyx walked over to the couch and sort of smiled at the victim of Newton's assault.
"Sorry about him... he's been cooped up in the labs with me all day and was really looking forward to playing." She seemed to freeze for a bit as a thought came to her. "Maybe what they say about video games and violence really is true..."

Yamir cooed and flew back to land on the back of the couch, blinking at the deflated Drifloon next to his human before reaching out to preen a strand of her hair.
Jen grinned at the scientist and waved off the apology like it wasnt important. "No worries. It happens." Thats when the pokemons' name caught her attention and she stared at Nyx with a raised eyebrow. "Wait...This little guy...has the high score?" A quick glance at the screen and the scores told the truth but... "Thats kinda hard to believe. Most pokemon I know dont play video games or cant." She chuckled. "Plus I doubt video games lead to violence. Its not like we can do the things they can do in the WR world."

Nyx chuckled at Jen's surprise.
"Yeah, that would be his. I was surprised too, but it isn't too outrageous, if you think about it. You only really use two appendages with the controller. Newton has two appendages."
Newton puffed up, this time with pride. He put his tassels on the bottom part of his balloon body, as if he had hips there.
"Floon flooooooooon." The variation in his tone indicated a challenge.
Nyx facepalmed.

"I guess thats true. You really only need your hands and thumbs, unless something in-game calls for extreme button-mashing." Smiling at the thought, Jen was about to say more when Newton's cocky display caught her attention.
Her smile turned into a challanging smirk. "What? Little 'loon boy think he can beat me?" A snicker. "Obviously, he's never challanged me before. I'll woop his little air tush into next week."
Jen then made a small "Bring it!" motion with her hand, while the other grabbed the controller laying beside her.

Nyx sat and sighed. Newton floated from the couch and pulled the second controller back far enough on the floor that he could see and have a solid surface to play on.
"Floon FLOON floon flooon." He pointed to his still displayed high score and seemed to scoff at this new challenger. He then looked away and waved for Jen to pick the level and settings.

Jen smirked at the scoffing; oh how she longed to knock this cocky pokemon off its high throne.
"That maybe your high score now..." Level chosen: Pokemon Stadium. Items: Health items disabled and drop rate changed to rare for the rest. "But its not gunna last long. You're up against me now."
Now the screen flared up the character selection screen. The player pointer clicked on a familiar face in the lower row of the characters. Ah, how she had mastered the ways of Pikachu.
"Five lives each and little to no items. Not to mention no health for either of us. Sound fair?"

"Floon." The player two pointer moved over to a newer face. Beta Knight. The stage and characters were selected, the screen flashed "loading..."
The Pokemon Stadium appeared on the screen, the two characters at either end. A round thing with a cape, and a pikachu.
'3. 2. 1. GO!'
Newton's tassels moved about the controller more nimbly than one would have expected. Thumbs, hah! Who needed those? Beta Knight dashed forward at a sprint towards the pikachu on the other side of the screen.

How swiftly Newton got into the battle caught Jen off-guard for a moment, allowing Beta Knight to get a few early hits. She didnt stay that way for long; fingers moving on the controller with experience, the Pikachu on-screen quickly flew out of reach of the small knight and starting launching Thundershock attacks as it fell back to the ground.
However, she didnt let her character stay put when feet touched the stadium. Letting off a few more, Pikachu was back in the air again with a few jumps and a quick attack.
Resting on Nyx's shoulder, Yamir cooed and flapped his wings as he watched the two duke it out. This was exciting! Oh yes indeed!

The damage was stacking up for both characters. The controller slipped away from Newton for a split second and Beta Knight went flying across the screen.
"FLOON FLOOOON!!!" He shouted and threw his arms up into the air while he waited for his character to float down on the rez-disk. As soon as it was on screen, the flashing ball of cape swooped back into position.
He liked to keep Beta Knight air-born, which wasn't too hard for this character, and kept him safe from a few of the pikachu's attacks.
Nyx shot Newton a look, he was a sore loser and a trash talker. But this was their game, so she said nothing and pet the adorable pidgey under its chin.

Jen watched as the damage stacked, doing a minor victory dance as Beta Knight was sent flying off the stage. On-screen, Pikachu did a little cute taunt at the players as the Knight came back to life and launched a series of attacks.
Granted, she tried her best to stay far away from the round ball of metal and sword...Unfortunately, Pikachu was sent flying off the stage with a Smash Attack. As she waited for the pokemon to rez, the Rocket stretched her stiff fingers before jumping back into the gameplay with a vengance.
Yamir crooned happily at the scratching and leaned into the hand petting him.

Newton was focused, his fingers never cramped up, he didn't have any, and it was because of this that he was superior. In his mind at least.
He tried to make sure the distance between Pikachu and Beta knight was always closed, but usually managed to quickly dash away whenever it used Thunder. Newton watched their damage stack up, expecting one of them to be knocked off screen at any moment... His little mouth opened in dismay as a badly timed special air attack left him helpless and falling off of the map.
Nyx lost interest in watching the game. They were both moving around the screen too quick for her to care to keep watching.

Jen knew better than to gloat during the middle of a fight; do that, and your opponent will quickly take the lead. Thats the main rule of playing video games against her brother has taught the Rocket.
She had to admit though...Newton was a good player. A very good player. But, like she had vowed before, she was gunna woop his tush into next tuesday. On-screen, when Beta Knight rezzed, one of the rare item drops (a pokeball of all things) dropped onto one of the floating platforms. Eyes glittering, Pikachu quickly dashed up to grab the item.
"Is mine!"
