Leini'Anga wasn't sure what she wanted. She was bored, but she didn't know what she wanted to do to relieve her boredom. Scrunching her face up at this dilemma, she sat and watched some of the other cubs from a distance. Some of them boasted that they would be warriors, others scryers, each becoming more unattainable in their claims as they tried to one-up each other. As for her...what would she be?
She didn't know. Yet.

A flaming, bright orange tuft of mane wafted in the breeze, its owner standing boldly in front of the den where his siblings laid as well as a few others who belonged there. His form was small, given his age, but lineage promised growth that possibly doubled what other cubs could hope to mature into. He was beginning to be aware of the legacy that he came from, and the promises he was born to potentially fulfill.
Life seemed to want to throw a twist to the already-peculiar group in making this particular cub a near-identical twin in addition to the others. Though creating an obvious tie and connection for the two, it was an eerie feeling to be born knowing that eternity wouldn't last between them, and they would have to strive to be greater than the other - theoretically speaking.
He accepted it fully anyways, at least, in his eager years of brimming energetic life, and this certain spawn of Sakata and younger twin to Usharifu wasted no time in learning with each day that passed. He was enthusiastic as much as his other siblings about their time spent 'playing' with each other in games that had winners and losers, and had been instilled with a yearning for knowledge about the pride's history, workings, and culture. He also quite liked making connections with others as well, intent on learning something new with each separate interaction he had.
His head twitched at something he saw through the corners of his eyes - a blue, sort of glowing form sitting idly by herself. He observed for just a moment before stepping towards the older girl, subconsciously puffing his chest out of self-importance. He had seen others who looked like her before, but hadn't dared talk to one yet. He knew, of course, they belonged to a quiet minder that minded her own business mostly, but that was all - there just was so much more to learn!
"Hey," he said promptly as he approached, confidence slowly lowering as he realized she was a tad bit bigger than him, though he already knew she was obviously older, "Who are you? You're just sitting out here alone?"

Shifting her gaze, Leini's pale eyes studied the speaker in silence. He was smaller than herself, and bore markings like the Warleader in addition to the flaming markings that swirled across his pelt. Probably a new Royal Sacrifice, then. Intrigued by this, she became more alert. This was different, and this was interesting. "Yes, I am. I am Leini'Anga."

He abruptly stopped, finding the cold, formal response somewhat concerning. He felt her eyes focused on him, though, and he liked whatever attention he got from that, at least. By now, she probably realized who he was - and perhaps that was why her response came so barren, as if she knew she was addressing a higher-up.
"Uhodari," he returned, feeling her concentration on him, "Why are you doing that, then?"
He wished to persist, "Where's your brothers and sisters? I know you have them."
Realizing the question could turn on himself, Uhodari hummed thoughtfully but didn't say anything else; he thought if it wasn't self-explanatory, then maybe she wouldn't ask out of inhibition to inquire such a thing from him, a royal sacrifice. Although it was unlikely for him (at this point) to be without his identical twin, it wasn't like a meeting that required the other's presence.

With a small frown, Leini pondered her response. Her youthful pride didn't want to admit that she couldn't think of anything else to do, but there really wasn't any other reason for it. Decisions, decisions.
"There isn't anything better to do," she said finally, softening her blunt honesty a little. She wasn't really very interested in sitting there and watching everyone, and now something much more interesting had come along. Royal Sacrifices were not so common that one could talk to them every day, after all. "And what are you doing out here? Aren't you supposed to be trying to be Vates? I thought that is what Royal Sacrifices did." After a moment, she amended, "Or Queen, if you were a girl. But you're not, so Vates."

A calculated smile came to match her small frown during Uhodari's assessment, and it possibly widened when her answer came. Could growing up have been that boring? With that, she kept up the stereotype that older people got more boring and did more boring things. So maybe she was either really mature, and thus more boring, or maybe she just didn't get it. And after hearing her next words, Uhodari assumed the latter, though her question stung him a bit, catching him off guard.
"...Right..." he mumbled testily, never taking his eyes off of the blue girl, "I can 'try to be Vates' anywhere I want. We stopped lessons for a while, so..."
He stopped, not wanting to pursue that topic; a sigh came out, then, hoping that answer would be sufficient. Even though he started the interrogation, he didn't really expect to be interrogated back. It didn't seem like his title impressed her very much, either. This created a small desire to change that.
"Good, so you know I'm not a girl, and that my brothers and sisters and I are trying to be named the Vates and Queen... Well, Scion and Heir. So you've probably been listening to your minders, huh. Leini'Anga," he added her name formally.

"You don't stop learning when the lesson is over," Leini commented, pale eyes narrowing as she frowned even more. She learned many things inside of lessons, like the history of their pride and the ways of the spirits, but she learned things outside of them too--like what the Royal Sacrifice sitting in front of her was like, maybe?
Other than...well...dense. Who didn't know what a Sacrifice was, or a Royal Sacrifice? To her, that was like saying there were lions that didn't have spirits at all! Scrunching her nose up for a second, she gave him a rather incredulous look before a faint smirk replaced the frown. "My mother is a minder, so you could say I listen to one even when I'm not in lessons. I don't have to listen to them very much to know what you do, though."

An urge came to snap at Leini'Anga's reply - as if she was teaching him here, right now! But he brushed the feeling away, keeping his still, expressionless appearance while she frowned, and then changed to other facial expressions. Uhodari found these changes interesting, but wasn't up to displaying his own reactions.
What he wasn't interested in knowing, however, was the girl's education and knowledge - whatever form she thought she had of it. She couldn't have possibly gotten the same, impressive teachers he did, even if she was older. Her minder mother was probably one of the ones easily gone unnoticed by the pride, too. He pursed, glaring at her confidence that she knew all about him.
"What I do? Sure. Leini'Anga, if you're so sure about everything, then show me something new, why don't you? It would help in my training to be vates, after all."
He willed a smile onto his face, slightly proud of his dare to the older girl. Uhodari only wished his identical twin was here to poke fun at her with him, too.
