Kaito looked at me. his eyes filled with...
I don't really know how I should explain it...
Love?
He and I stared at each other for a bit.
My heart beat.
He probably didn't really care about how I felt for him, my heart would always beat for him...
No matter what.
I wondered how he felt about us.
The two of us together...
"Hey, are you going to keep staring at me...?"Kaito asked me, as he looked the other way.
"N-no, I was just thinking about something..."I muttered as I looked away as well.
My ponytails swished along with my head.
I had noticed, for sometime...that Kaito stared at me a lot, but it might, just be my imagination running with me.
When I looked back, he was gone.
--
That was the end of that memory.
It shot back at me many times, like a bullet.
A bullet that rewound and shot again and again.
And I was hit by its power everytime.
It has been at least 5 years since that memory, and those feelings for Kaito, are still here.
Inside my heart...my heart that yearns...yearns for love.
But he still treats me like a little child.
I want him to notice me.
I was going to go see Kaito in his room today.
Again, as always.
As usual, a smile would appear on my face, that stupid childish smile, that Kaito told me to never rid of.
But I wanted to become more than just that little girl that Kaito had known forever.
I wanted to change...just for him, because I loved him just that much.

As I was walking to Kaito's room, I could hear him talking to himself.
Probably about dinner, since it was coming so soon.
I bit my lip in wonder, his voice was beautiful.
It reminded me of those times we would sit in front each other at the tables and talk about things that happened everyday.
I loved those talks.
So interesting...
I stopped biting my lip as Kaito came out the door with a smile on his face, until he saw me outside the door.
"Were you listening in on my conversation this whole time??"He asked me, I could see anger in his eyes.
And then he stepped close to see my face.
I backed up a bit, sensing myself blushing.
"N-No. I was just walking up to your room to tell y-you it was dinner t-time.."I muttered as her nose nearly touched my nose.
Kaito sighed and backed up slowly.
He laughed a bit.
"Okay."Kaito said smiling.
He touseled my hair about and then took my hand.
"Lets go have dinner now, we have some things to talk about...."Kaito said, his voice trailing off as if he was thinking of something.
I held Kaito's hand tighter, not wanting to let go of him, of his love.
Well, if you could even call this love.
If it was love, it had been hidden by masks.
Masks that we made for ourselves...
Sounds corny right? Well, it is how I think of it.

Kaito and I walked over to the dining room table.
In perfect silence.
We had not said a thing during our walk.
So it was kind of boring.
But whenever we were at the table, we would talk.
So I wasn't worried about it much.
Kaito pulled my seat out from under the table.
He gestured for me to sit down.
"Thank you."I said quietly as he pushed my seat in.
Kaito smiled back, his smile so bright.
I smiled back.
He didn't sit down though, instead he went to go get the wine.
The wine...
The wine glass that normally sat in front of my already filled with wine was empty...
That was odd.
It was not something that was part of our everyday schedule or things of the sort.
So I frowned in confusion.
A few minutes later...
After I had eated some salad, Kaito came back with the two wine glasses in his hand. He set mine in front of me.
And then he sat across the table.
"A toast?"I asked him holding the wine glass in my hands, above a plate so I wouldn't spill it.
I was always careful with things like this.
Kaito nodded.
"Yes, lets have a toast. To our friendship. Let it last as long as we both live."Kaito said, his voice cracking a bit.
I nodded back.
"A toast to our friendship."I said as we both drank our wine.
I set the wine glass down and went to pick up the napkin.
Oh, there were two of them, no one.
I couldn't tell. It kept going back and forth. I rubbed my eyes a bit. I still couldn't tell.
Kaito got up from his seat and walked up to me and picked up my napkin, or napkins from the table and wiped my mouth of the wine.
"K-Kaito...I-I am feeling dizzy..."I muttered, his face becoming one and two.
Kaito only kept a straight face."Your fine Miku...just relax...."He said, his voice trailing of a bit. And at that I relaxed a bit more.
Kaito moved my hair out of my face.
"Kaito...what's h-happening...?"
Kaito only smiled this time.
He kissed me on the forehead.
"Nothing...."
"But Kaito..."
I said as I collapsed into his already open arms.
He caught me....his hold, its...so...so loving and caring...
Oh...Kaito...

As Kaito carried me as I slept...
I remembered memories....
Of Kaito and I...
"Miku..."Kaito said.
He was sitting in a chair in the garden.
I was picking flowers for our house.
I looked at Kaito.
I was smiling.
Kaito smiled but soon closed his eyes and looked away.
I frowned and sighed.
I picked up a flower and held it close to me.
Kaito got up and walked up to me. He touched my hand.
"Its beautiful..."Kaito said.
I turned around and looked at him.
I held it up to him to see."Kaito, this is for you..."
Kaito laughed and took it."Thanks Miku, I will keep it..."
Kaito moved my hair out of my face.
My eyes twitched a bit.
"Your okay Miku...your safe in my arms..."Kaito said as he layed me on the bed.
I smiled within my head.
But then I heard it.
What was it?!

What was that noise?
When I listened more closely, I could hear Kaito yelling.
My heart beat fast.
Kaito yelled, I didn't know why.
But soon he started talking.
"I-I can't do this..."Kaito yelled, frustrated.
I opened my eyes slowly.
I looked at Kaito.
"Come capture me..."I said as I pushed him backwards onto the bed.
Kaito touched my face.
I touched his.
"Kaito...you don't know how I feel about you..."I said.
Kaito smiled."..I do..."Kaito said as she sat up and hugged me close to him.
"K-Kaito..."I said as I held him close too.
"Shh...Miku..."Kaito said."Your mine....forever..."
I smiled to myself, and I kissed him.
It was as if time stopped....
It was as if he and I had gotten rid of our masks....
We...were...both showing our love....
Kaito....
And...
I.....
Forever....
"Kaito..I love you..."I said as I kissed him again.
And that was when, I realized that our love was true...and he had noticed me...
