through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above but her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved...

Safrinni's Photo Album I do not think ill of Mother for abandoning her attempts to return to Kyendi as I know she would be here if at all possible. In fact, I keep the photographs that she left behind and, at times, still look them over to be reminded of happier memories.
I remember Mother to be an exciteable type. I can't help but smile whenever I see that, in her haste to begin building memories of our time together, she took a photograph of the letter left to assure her that the relic was being crafted. I remember well this relic. How it intrigued and frightened me from where I watched it from afar. It took days of building my courage to get close enough to see it fully. It called to me with the promise of safety and a new beginning. I must appreciate Mother's speed with her camera. How she managed to snap a picture of my essense before I was, undoubtedly, frightened away is beyond me. In the time that she spoke kindly to me, Mother and I built a trust over the weeks. I became confident that she would not harm me and that she meant what she said about caring for me. with much trepidation, I placed myself willingly into the relic to begin the process of crossing over. What a terrible day this was! It was filled with fright, pain, and far too much newness. I am glad that my rebirth was a fluke, because I assure you it is not something I ever wish to endure again. This is me in the body I currently possess, at long last part of the mortal world again. The relic's bond with my spirit seared many glowing runes into my flesh. Mother did not know what they meant and, Grandmother, unfamiliar with the Ieldi's language, likewise could not decipher them for me. At times, they burn a bit. While my body remained stunted for a very long while, my spirit continued to mature and to grow. I believe it pained Grandmother to see me in such a state or I do not believe she would have done for me what she did. With my consent, she performed a pantheon ritual which physically aged me into what she felt was a suitable maturity. I fashioned the outfit myself in the likeness of a night sky, encorporating my chained collar into it. I have made an earring out of the small blue gem given to me long ago by Kikuei and now wear it in my right ear.

Daruma's Profile Name: Daruma Species: Pantheon Age: Unfathomably old Gender: Female Diety Of: The Future Eyes: Glowing Amber Hair: Silver
Attire: Loose-fitting light robes, a purple scarf, purple slippers, and two silver hoops in her left ear.
Weapon Of Choice: Reason.
Quirks: She is never out of reach of her gnarled walking stick. It seems to hold special significance to her and, though it is not necessary for her to use it to get around, it goes everywhere that she does, none the less.
Personality: gentle, quiet, prefers to move at a slow pace and surround herself with calming things. She does not bear her permanent-crone state as a burden and, moreso, sees it as a blessing. Knowing that she will always be the eldest and will always have been there before anyone else, she is confident in the advice that she gives.
Significant Other: She speaks fondly of a companion that she once had who was taken from her as a result of Siff's mindless destruction when his egg was stolen. She never mentions his name or anything particular about him...it seems to be a sore subject for her.
Children: None. Her sacrifice for becoming the diety of future was to be eternally barren and far too old to bear children. She has adopted Safrinni for the time being
Family: Daruma shares a brother/sister bond with all of the other pantheon, whether she likes it or not. Fortunately for her, she is left out of most of the younger gods' squabblings with one another and is only approached when one of them seeks guidance or advice.
---------------------------------------------------
Despite her status as a Pantheon Diety, Daruma is a kindly old woman and has taken me under her wing. When Mother and I were separated during the Great Upheaval, she discovered me at the base of the village tree, alone and afraid.
When Mother did not return for me, as was the case for some of the others, Daruma took it upon herself to look out for me, later taking up residence in the house that had once belonged to the two of us to ensure that I was taken care of. I would ask her about Mother regularly and was often told that I mustn't lose hope that she may come back, but I could tell that she knew things I did not.
After a long period of settling and becoming comfortable with one another, at last she allowed me to know the truth. Her ability to see the future, though fragmented it may be, had shown her from the time she first saw me in Mother's care, that the two of us would become separated. She had kept her silence in hopes that it was, perhaps, a false vision as some tended to be, but that was not to be the case.
She went on to say that, since Mother had been her consort when she and the others had first arrived in Kyendi, the two of them shared a bond with one another and, if she concentrated, she could sense her presense. Mother had been displaced back into the dimension of Gaia and, unable to find her way back to Kyendi, had simply given up and returned home to begin her family anew.
Daruma was fairly sure that the two of us could find our way there and offered to take me to her, if I could be brave enough to leave the tree but....but I am not ready. I don't know what I would say to Mother if we were to meet again, or if she would even remember me.
So, for the time, I will be content with what I have -- a grandmother who cares for me, and a floor of boards, branches, and leaves high above the ground.
