((Better title to possibly come when my brain feels like being more witty xD))
Okay. Patrol.
Alone.
But she could do this. After meeting Sailor Orion, Eos had had the realization that her attack itself didn't need to be offensive. If she managed to distract or slow the youma or lieutenant with her actual attack, then she could improvise to knock 'em out. She'd attended her first self defence class with the Basterds, which had turned out better than she'd expected, and if there were basic tools she could use to whack or batter the enemy, she should be fine.
Or at least, that was the theory.
The grill brush had worked well, with Orion. And whilst she'd been looking forwards to patrolling with other Senshi in the Basterds, she still did almost enjoy her solitary patrols. It gave her time to think, reflect on past meetings or experiences. And it gave her a chance to practice, so she didn't look like a total failure when she did patrol with another Senshi.
Speaking of which, she hoped she saw Orion again soon. Yeah, that had been fun.
A small smile on her face, the Senshi of Senses took a running jump to the next building, smile growing noticeably wider as she landed without any stumble. Yeah, those roof-jumping sessions with Europa had definitely paid off. She was doing a circuit of the park tonight, nothing too major or difficult. But still, trouble seemed to come in all shapes and sizes these days.

Pasha had wished as hard as he possibly good on every fallen eyelash and 11:11 that the first solo patrol after his "incident" with Serandite would be uneventful. He'd hoped that it would give him the extra boost of confidence that he needed to actually feel good about this Senshi thing, and that he wouldn't have to question his capability anymore.
He guessed that this was better than running into another lieutenant, at least. Eyes frantically wide and pulse racing, he ran from the quickly approaching youma, who appeared to be some sort of mixture between garbage, snake, and human. While instinct told him to use some of the defensive techniques he'd learned in Mister Ladon's classes, this thing was way too gross to get up-close and cuddly. He would just have to rely on tricking it, or on a stroke of convenient luck.
A shaky, gloved hand reached back towards the youma as he continued to run.
"Pyxis Firefly Flash!"
The familiar swarm of magical fireflies began to circle around the yucky youma, their lights gently pulsing. The glow continued to grow in intensity until the cluster let out a brilliant flash, its light especially harsh against their otherwise dark surroundings. Please, let this work, he pleaded, running against the buildings in hopes of finding something to hit the thing with. He just wasn't so sure about doing this alone.

The suddenly bright flash of light in an alleyway two buildings away certainly caught the Senshi's attention, as she paused in her movement with a frown. That was...odd. Too bright to be a camera flash, and besides, who'd be taking pictures of an alleyway? Suddenly feeling like whatever it was, it wasn't good, Eos took a bounding leap over to the next building, only pausing to snatch a discarded piece of pipe from a nearby pile of rubbish before she peeked over into the alleyway, surprised by what she found.
She recognized that boy - from where, she couldn't quite recall, although surely that flash meant he was a Senshi, and that meant she must know him from the Basterds. Ohhh, something suddenly hit the girl, Europa telling her about a boy with a stunning flashy attack. Pyxo? Pixie? This must be him!
Jumping into the alleyway, she landed the jump well, clutching her piece of pipe as she spotted the youma, not too far away. Deciding to first see if she could slow it, she held a hand out, shouting, "Eos Sensless Flash!" as a burst of energy rippled from her hand to strike the youma. "Are you okay?" she shouted to the boy behind her, whose name she still couldn't quite recall.(( Rolled Here. Youma lost its smell, not very useful xD))

Though he was very afraid of glancing back to see if his attack on the youma had done any sort of good, he willed himself to take a peek. Luckily, the dumb creature appeared to be in a frenzy, one step away from clawing his own eyes out. If the situation were not so serious, Pyxis might have laughed - how would ruining its own eyes help it see better? Ridiculous.
Clearly fate was on his side tonight. A wave of immediate relief washed over him as he heard the shouted attack and he turned to fully face the other Senshi, large blue eyes now full of gratitude.
There wasn't any time to sit around and chat, if his previous youma encounter was any sort of indication. He kept his response quick and polite as he continued to search for some sort of weapon to use. "Yeah! Thanks for helping me out!" By another act of divine providence, he spotted a sturdy-looking janitor's broom propped up against one of the outdoor trashcans. Hastily snatching it up (and mentally apologizing in advance for what was about to happen to it) he returned his focus to the other Senshi, dashing up to meet her.
"Maybe we can hit it while it's all confused and stuff?" Despite the fact that he was no longer shouting and his words were very informal, there was still a definite sense of urgency to his tone.

Eos turned to chase after her fellow Senshi, catching him up a few steps away with a warm smile. She'd actually helped someone. That...that felt quite good, especially when she saw the gratitude shining in his eyes, her smile only growing wider. "No problem - you're one of the Basterds, right? I'm Sailor Eos."
Probably not the best time for introductions, but she had to get his name - it was killing her inside that she couldn't remember, damn her terrible memory! Pipe currently held loosely by her side, she watched as he snatched up a broom propped up against a trashcan, and her smile spread into a grin as she lifted the pipe, banging it against her free hand suggestively. "Sounds good," she nodded, agreeing with his plan as she turned back to face the youma, which seemed more worried about Pyxis' attack than hers. Which was to be expected - she was pretty ure it had lost one of the most useless senses, perhaps smell or taste. Great.
She waited for Pyxis to move first, before charging at the youma, pipe poised to slam down on it. Hard.

At the mention of the Basterds, Pyxis paused, tilting his head to examine her. She did seem familiar. "Oh...oh! Hey! I'm Sailor Pyxis, Senshi of Fireflies, and...stuff..." He smiled sheepishly; there really wasn't any "stuff" about it, but he'd already gotten an extra "and" out of his mouth, and by then it was too late. That's what he got for being too excitable, he supposed.
He had every intent of telling her how nice it was to meet her Senshi-self, but the youma was wobbling and flailing in their direction, and that didn't seem particularly safe. Startled, he smacked the creature with the broom at full force. It met its nasty exterior with a crack, and it wasn't until Pyxis pulled the broom away that he realized half of it was protruding from the area where its collarbone would be, the half in his hand splintered at the end. The youma hissed and spat, swinging wildly in the direction of its apparent attackers.
"Wha....auuughh." he groaned, looking to Eos for sympathy. That was gross.

Pyxis, that was it! She knew Europa had told her his name, and all about how stunning his attack was, but her stupid memory had failed to hold on to the information. She grinned, glad to have met another member of the team - it had recently occured to her that she didn't really have a clue who any members of the Basterds were, bar Tallulah/Europa and Aurora/Polaris.
The boy charged in with the broom, and Eos shortly followed with her rusting pipe, slamming it down on what she assumed was the youma's head. The youma was flailing, and gave a loud, strangled cry, Eos jumping back just in time to avoid a nasty whack from it. But wait - was that...in it's shoulder...? "That's gross," she groaned, sticking her tongue out as if to prove the fact, "How is it not dead yet!?"
Her pipe was poised again, and as soon as she had a chance she charged again, slamming the metal down on the youma as hard as she could.

As Pyxis was still recovering from the terrible fate of the broom, he heard the telltale noise that meant Eos' pipe had struck youma-flesh. He tried not to look, but couldn't help peeking - no, the thing was still advancing on them, albeit severely damaged. It did seem a little discouraged and pained, he noted. Possibly coughing up youma-insides. Better than nothing.
"Ew, eeew, I don't know, yuckyyy! Yucky!" His freckled nose was scrunched up in disgust as he watched her slam the pipe down on the monster again. The last youma he'd fought had possessed what was essentially a body made of dryrotting plastic, and smashing it didn't cause it to emit nasty squelching noises.
He calmed himself, remembering that acting like a five-year-old girl holding a handful of worms around his new teammate was probably not the best idea. He was supposed to at least pretend to be brave! "..oh! I think...maybe you killed it?" It wasn't moving, at least...but something still seemed off. Teeth clenched, trying his hardest not to show how fiercely he was shaking, he walked up to the youma, raised the broom above its body, and drove the other splintered half into its center.

This was really, really gross.
Eos' own face was twisted into a disgusted grimace as she beat the youma with her pipe, eventually throwing it at the youma, striking it in the head with a loud 'THUD!' as she jumped back to where Pyxis was standing, nodding in complete agreement to his...comments.
"Couldn't have said it better myself," she mumbled, shuddering somewhat. Hopefully she'd be able to get those horrible squelching noises out of her head when she was sleeping, she was having enough trouble lately, what with the nightmares. Killed it? "Not yet, I don't think..." she spoke, trying to get a good look without getting too close. However, before she could comment further Pyxis had charged, and driven the other half of the splintered broom into the youma.
That seemed to do it, the youma giving a horrific, high-pitched scream before bursting into a cloud of smoke, the only hint of it's presence being the small pile of black dust on the floor. Eos shuddered again. "That...never again. Ever."

The youma's scream was awful, but was completely incomparable to its actions in the rest of the battle. At least it was over now, and there would be no more yucky, squishy youma to bother them. Just to be sure, he leaned over the pile of dust and looked for any movement, only straightening up again when he was satisfied that there was none.
"That's the most gross one I've ever seen!" he proclaimed. Pyxis seemed to have regained all of his cheeriness now that the youma had been vanquished. "You did a really good job, and I would be totally youma-food if you hadn't shown up, so thank you!" He would have to tell Tallulah about this later. He was sure she'd be pleased to hear that the Basterds were doing their part. "You said you were Sailor Eos, right? Wanna finish patrol together? I think it'd be safe that way and...and you're pretty awesome!"
He raised his hand and held his palm up to her. It appeared that he wanted a high-five.

Pyxis seemed to need more convincing that the youma was gone - Eos just didn't want to ever go near it ever again. Her breathing was heavy as she regained her breath, leaning against a wall as she did so. She managed a smile at the younger boy's cheeriness, however - he was kinda sweet. She had a feeling he wasn't that much younger than her, but he seemed quite child-like. Perhaps it was something they had in common, being childish.
"It's okay," she responded to the gratitude, a little embarrassed at all the thanks, "That's what team-mates are for, right?" She knew the Basterds weren't exactly a tight-knit team - they didn't all buddy up and always go on patrol together, or anything like that. But your team-mate was your team-mate, and being in a team like the Basterds meant Eos had learned a lot in the past few weeks. She was getting more confident, and this was proof of that - she'd been the one doing the saving for a change. Her chest swelled a little with pride - she was getting better.
"Awww, thanks!" she responded, cheeks pink. She'd never been called awesome before, "You're awesome too! Your attack is so pretty! And I like your hair..." She'd never seen hair like it before, it was the prettiest shade of blue with little red tips. She glanced at her own boring black hair - she'd been considering a change of style lately. Perhaps dying it, curling it, something more exciting that it was at the moment. She happily gave Pyxis the high-five, grinning as she offered for him to leave the alleyway first, "Where were you patrolling, just around the shops or...?"
