Welcome to one of Dragon-Bounds major roleplay events! This event will follow a world-changing plotline that could have significant repercussions on the world and those that participate. The world WILL change. Whether it will be for good or bad will depend on your actions.

Please note that since this is a major event that consequences will be real. Your character could be injured or even killed. Alternatively, this could be a good chance to move your dragon down some interesting paths. I encourage any dragon type to participate, including Blessed and squires. I recommend bringing your adult dragons, but younger ones will be allowed. Just remember the bit I said about consequences.

One last piece of advice. Don't be scared off by the previous paragraph. While I have a plot in mind it is very malleable and will change according to your actions. Don't be a passive observer - change the plot. Take action. Besides, moving targets are harder to hit. wink

With no further disclaimer, welcome to Treason.

Dragon-Bound: Treason

Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

The horse was at a full run. That was no easy feat, for while the forest was old-growth trees there were still hidden dips in the earth, massive roots spreading through the top-layer of soil, and fallen branches to contend with. The horse did not falter, however, and slipped through the massive trees with an unnatural grace, it's powerful hooves like the beat of war-drums. The rider crouched low in the saddle, dressed in layers of green and blue silks that clung to his lithe body in dark patches where the blood had soaked through. A slender gold circlet held back hair the color of sunlight, showing a delicate face, pointed ears, and large green eyes that had no pupil. He was very pale.

At a soft tug to the reins the horse slowed to a stop. It was a massive beast, easily as large as a clydesdale, if not larger. It was armored, its mane and tail cut short, and two curved and spiraling horns rose from its forehead, one right after the other. It was one of the fae's war-horses. The rider sat up carefully, mindful of his injuries, and stared at one of the nearby trees. This being an old-growth forest they grew to massive sizes and could shelter the many dragon clans scattered through it. Before him, one of the trees had been scored with claws, again and again until the marks became part of the tree.

Territory markings. He had reached the border of one of the dragon clans. His face drawn with fierce determination, he gently nudged his horse into a slow walk and crossed into dragon territory.

It was a small act. Nothing was there to witness it. But the rider knew with grim certainty that such a seemingly small thing would shake the bones of the world itself.

Night that is darkest in the Day, as for Day is brightest in the Night, these two were more that just the oddity of be hatch with perfect markings and contrast of each other. They lived by rolling with the punches ......and mud. Oh do they relied on the dirt that surrounds them so.

"What poor creature should we tease today, Or will we find our bounds today that will get us one step closer to our goal?" The almost albino here is known as Target, name you could thank our clan that their from they thought the three eggs that survived the human rampage would be much more than what he seems. He's a heart full of laughs as his scales makes a perfect target mark around his eye and his red eye makes well the perfect bulls eye for any sharp shooter. Growing up he was the one that had to do more than just brush his mane over to cover his eye, being as brilliantly white as he in would before he would go out would have to roll in the water then the dirt to blanch his scales so he could blend more in with the trees and dirt. He had to be quick when it came to humans, last thing he wanted was his eye mounted on an amulet cause he was a easy shot for a spear or arrow.

"Now Now, Focus on your back before we get into our wild thoughts. Though our last adventure was quite interesting. I thought men in kilts had more of Rocky Mountain Oysters than puss bells." The black dragon with the white target slowly making sure he covers all of his mark. This is Bullseye, he been by Target's side well since they found out about their likeness. Always these two been scheming and learning with what they can do at making fools out of everyone that would mock them for their Unique scale placement. They have a sister name Arrow for having a arrow shape going from her mane to the very tip of her nose but she been highly respected. It was a petty thing to think about from time to time but one day they will have the respect from everyone, they would protect everyone, when they were ready to be squires and later accepted as Knights. Sure this was a lot to ask for, but what life with out a goal and Bullseye was sure as long as his brother Target was by his side watching his back as much as he watches his, it was possible. Just like the smallest Star being the whole force that helps everything.

Bullseye checked target head to claw for spots might be missed. "your mastering it quite well...." Bullseye looked around as he thought he heard something, felt something... his mouth slightly open as he took in the air that danced with the wind through the trees and then looked at Target with the split up glance as he hunched in the grass and took position.

Target matched Bullseye movements perfectly like he was the other dragons reflection in the waters they drank from only difference was he slinked off the opposite direction for a surprise attack for a possible easy kill for the evening.

((I know you said "Nothing was there to witness it", but I took that more as the rider's thoughts. >.>))

Generally, Ruscar liked the Eastern forest due to the abundance of hiding spots. No one came hunting for a Reborn in these woods. It was a safe-heaven for the abomination, despite the abundance of clans lurking around the area. It was still a safe haven, for Ruscar had managed to live in this area for a good ten years without being noticed by any other creatures. Of course, life got boring with no one to bother.

Thus, when the sound of a horse barreling through the woods reached the destroyed creatures ears, Rus' perked up. He curled around a tree, as if to mimic a vine, letting his tail twitch in the slight wind. He stayed absolutely silent, eyes wide and slowly focusing in on the Fae rider.

A Fae! Excitement coursed through the lonely Reborn's body. A human grin slipped across the dragon's face, as it nimbly crawled further up the tree for a better vantage point, curiosity overflowing the Reborn. The Fae did not belong here. And this one certainly seemed tense.

Ruscar's eyes widened, seeing the Fae crossing into the clan territory. The grin on his face grew much larger and he braced himself to follow after. He leaped silently to the next tree, making sure to follow a safe distance behind, but close enough to sate his curiosity.

It had been a long journey but they had made it down into the southern forest finally. Valerie found a nice quiet place to lay down in while her brother/bound scouted around for water.

((Warden will come in later but for now...))

Above the treetops, a dark form zipped about, performing a few acrobatic tricks in the air. If one were to look carefully, they'd spot a hint of gold against black scales, as well as a human riding along the dragon's backside. If one had really good eyesight along with that, they'd also notice a wild grin on both dragon and bound.

After one last flip, Astalder began to spiral down into the trees, slowing down enough to land. Once on the ground, Blade hopped off and firmly planted his feet onto the earth.

"Woo! That was a blast! Why didn't we get one of these things sooner?" chuckled the human as he stared at the leather straps around the dragon's body.

"That's a good question. But hey! It sure makes a getaway easier now," Astalder replied. Not long ago the two had chanced upon a caravan of sorts. They weren't quite able to to remain unnoticed but they didn't come away empty handed either.

"That's for sure," nodded the thief as he slung a bag off of his shoulders to check its contents. It appeared nothing had flung out while they were in the air; not that he would have cared much if they had, "Everything's all here... Hm? What's up?"

The human had noticed Astalder staring off into the distance. A quick mental message told him that the dragon heard something relatively nearby. Hoofbeats was it? He may be mistaken however.

The fae's steed continued at a steady pace, no longer crashing through the forest at a desperate speed. They were in dragon territory now and that afforded some protection as well as a new set of dangers. The rider sat straight in his saddle, one arm pressed tight against his torso, his pace drawn and pale with pain. He did not flinch, however, not even when a branch snapped back across his shoulder, or his horse made a small leap over a fallen tree. He also gave no indication that he realized he was being shadowed by the reborn.

He was keenly aware of his surroundings, despite his seeming detachment. He felt the movement of the reborn and disturbances even further away, although he could only guess at their cause. He dare not cast his senses too far, for those with power just as great as his were also looking. He did not want to attract their attention. Not yet.

So he kept going deeper into dragon-clan territory.

---------------

There was a group moving fast, not too far from where Blade and Astalder had landed. They were headed north, skirting where the trees thinned and gave way to a patch of low hills, broken up with rock where the trees could not take root. There were three horses, at least, and they seemed to be kicking up dust that only a full gallop would accomplish. It was a very dangerous pace in treacherous footing.

Target continued further where slowly moving close to the ground towards the direction where blood was in the air. What ever it was it was it continued in their direction it was small twigs being broken under the hooves. He slowed his breathing readied to take out the hooved creature if it was harmed then putting it out of it's pain would be better for it. 'Come on little closer, I want to get to is before Bulls does' He was setting his train of thought on the target waiting for the right moment, were he only looked like a rather larger random pile of dirt blob near the trees.

Off in the distance just close enough to barely see target patiently waiting as second guesses was on the back of his mind that they should just let this one go.. he saw how still Target was and he became even more still near some trees that curved around each other where at night the tree could be mistaken for a cave or save haven and the prey would just simply run right into him. 'This creature was bleeding,' he thought to himself as he clawed the dirt around him. Distance between Target and him was fair, the trees would be an obstical, but Target was better at weaving than he was so most likely he would find the path more quickly, Bullseye then looked ahead, 'I'll cut it off in front if it out smarts target.' Bullseye began to make a plan.

No walls. No stone floor.
Green leaves. Fresh air.
All things that had been had just less than a year ago. All things that had been taken away.

Two remained of the four taken. One had disappeared right from the start. The other was not with them for what reason fate chose. They had been given food should they have chosen to eat, not given it should they have whined too much. Or been given food that had unusual effects, usually temporary.

It was the magic the man had cast that they remembered though. Magic that would seep in like a sliver one time, wiggle like a worm another, or tear like fire on the worst of attempts. But a dead little dragon didn't do the magic man any good and getting more little ones was always a debacle.

Like Ares, the man had taken a bit of an interest in the little mutated blue one. This interest had a two-fold effect. He took better care of the little blue, better place to rest and food, but it also brought him under more scrutiny with the magic man and his curiosity. Different tests, sometimes more often pending how the man felt. For Nerevarine, it was the same as how Hiijia had been treated, but Hiijia was not with them now. Nor was Ares who they had met when they arrived at the magic man's room of stone.

But suddenly for both Yoshimitsu and Nerevarine, they were simply not there. It was almost like how it was when they were taken but even more drastic than before. They had been in sleep and with no warning were somewhere else.

((Ooc: they are in the area of Valerie and her brother now.))

((If there are no riders, let me know and I'll change this up.))

After a moment or so listening to the distant sounds, Astalder was able to confirm that it was indeed hoofbeats. And from the sounds of things, it came from multiple horses. The dragon shot a glance over at his bound, then looked back in the direction of the noise and started to creep towards it. It wasn't long before he was able to spot the dust clouds kicked up by the small group.

Now that was a curiosity. They were going awfully fast in this sort of terrain. It would not take much for one of the horses to lose its footing and seriously injure itself or its rider.

Either they were being chased or were after something, if they were in such a hurry. Quietly, he beckoned Blade to climb onto his back before taking flight once again. Both were rather curious of what was the cause for the rush, but at the same time they knew to be careful. The trio could be dragonhunters for all they knew, so they began to follow and kept their distance to hopefully not be noticed.

----

To say that the past months have been unpleasant was quite an understatement. Nerevarine hadn't felt more miserable in her short life than she had in that horrible place. She might not have been prodded at as much as Yoshi but it still didn't feel good over all. The youngling didn't know why the mage did what he did, or what it was he was doing exactly, but it mattered little.

Also, to say that she was both surprised and relieved to have fresh air and greenery suddenly around her once again, was an understatement as well. At first she thought it was some odd trick of the mind, but it felt too real.

Unfurling herself from the curled up position she was in, she looked around cautiously. The surroundings were not familiar, but she was really outside, in the wilderness. A quick glance to the side told her that she wasn't alone either. Yoshimitsu was around as well.

"We're... free..?"

Six eyes opened and blinked looking around the new area. The little blue dragon wanted to believe they were free. But the past few months caused for a solid seed of doubt in his mind. "What if it is a trick?" He asked Nerevarine as there was a rustling to their left. Valerie had heard the youngling's cry of freedom and came to see what was going on. "Where did you come from?" She asked looking at each of the young dragons carefully. Her furry scales must have looked odd indeed. She seemed nice enough and her arrival was enough to convince Yoshimitsu that they were indeed free from the mage for a time.

As the dragon took to the air one of the riders let out a cry and pointed. The three turned, their horses changing direction in one fluid motion and came to a head at the top of one of the rocky hills. They drew to a stop and the riders waited, staring up at the dragon and making no movement, hostile or otherwise. Their horses were strange, large and horned. And they, themselves, were not human. One was furred like an animal with pale brown fur and even paler stripes. Another had pointed ears and a third had fairy wings the color of smoked glass. All three wore pale green tabards with heraldry that was unrecognizable with the distance.

Ruscar kept moving at his swift pace quite registering the fact that the Fae rider below had slowed down in time to react properly. Rus' managed to come to an abrupt stop shortly after, but it had pulled the Reborn slightly ahead of the Fae. The dragon stayed tense in the spot, not quite liking his position in front of the Fae, but refused to move to fix it. Even though following after someone in the woods would be pegged as 'suspicious behavior', the Reborn did not wish to make himself seem more suspicious..

The Fae had not seemed to notice his presence yet, but Ruscar found himself apprehensive. Perhaps following the suspicious rider had not been the best of ideas, even if it was a cure for his boredom. Rus' twitched in stress, while repositioning himself so that the trunk of the tree protected most of his body just in case the Fae 'noticed' him and attacked.

The fae smiled thinly and gently tugged on the reins of his horse. It slowed and stopped and the fae remained there for a moment, not looking about him, his eyes half-closed and a slight smile across his face.

"You can come out," he said in a mild, conversational tone, "Best we deal with the matter of allegiances before I find the clan leaders of this area."

And his eyes gaze from hiding spot to hiding spot, tagging each of the hidden dragons in turn, his bright eyes giving no doubt that the nearby lurker was spotted.

Aphrodite found herself in in a thick of trees. She walked a little further and found a lake. Though there was someone there who had played a soft tune on an instrument. She approached with caution in which she hid in the bushes and she had stepped back to watched her play but broke a twig and didn't move hoping she didn't hear.

Cho looks up from hearing a twig break. She stands with the bow of the instrument in her hand has she looks in that direction. She finally says, "You can come out. Your coloring gives you away purple doesn't blend well with green."

Aphrodite looked down and noticed. Then she thought to herself that she must find a way to bend in. She had stepped out of the bushes and went toward the water away from the person. She was thirsty from travel but she kept an eye on her has she drank. She noticed something was a little different then other humans but she couldn't put her tail on it.

Cho had gone back to her playing her instrument softly. She didn't look up or stop playing but she said, "The names Cho."

Aphrodite looked over and said, "Aphrodite."
