His dark pelt glistened in the midday sun and with said glisten there was the thought of youth and what a youth did when he had all the time in the world. Of course normally he was trying to keep his crazy mother out of trouble but today he had abandoned his quest, how much trouble could one old crazy hare get in to any ways? Surely not that much.

Shaking his head he threw away that thought too, no point worrying about what hadn't happened yet. Taking a deep breath he leaps off through the long grasses, enjoying the weather, enjoying the wind whooshing through his ears and the feel of the ground under his paws.

It was a beautiful day, a day to celebrate life, a day to run and be crazy while the wind was high and the sun was shining. It was a day not to worry and the gods knew at this moment he was not worrying one bit.

The sun was warm against her fur, and the ground beneath her paws was soft and sunwarmed as well. Kisun nibbled idly at a bit of the long grass, though she wasn't hungry exactly. Just wondered what it tasted like, this bit, right here. Incase it was different from the ones she'd nibbled last night. Or the day before. One never knew... but now she would.

It didn't, but that was fine.

Stretching, she looked around herself with gleeful blue eyes, trying to decide what to do next. The sun was shining, but the wind was pleasently cool as it ruffled her fur. Maybe a run? She didn't want to take a nap, and she hadn't spotted any butterflies or cubs...what was that?

Dark furred ears perked up as she tipped her head. Something black and white was moving way over there... maybe it was someone interesting! Much more interested in meeting someone than nibbling around in grass that pretty much all tasted the same anyway, Kisun was on her paws and bounding over to where she could sort of see... another hare?

"Hi there!" she called cheerfully, racing to catch up. Maybe she could talk him into having some fun! They could play a game!

At the appearance of the other hare, he stumbles mid step managing to catch his paws and falling forwards tail over ears, landing in a puff of dust and a grassy flurry, the black and white male blinks owlishly at the black and tan hare.

"Krikey, you scared the bajeebus out of me." He chuckles righting himself while dusting off his monotone fur. Clearing his throat he looks the hare over and smiles in a sort of reserved, quiet manner. "I mean, Hello." He chuckles a little, feeling a bit sheepish because of his outburst.

"How can I help you miss?" He questions, his tail tuft twitching on and off in a sporadic manner, he wasn't used to being surprised by other hares, except for his mother, but she was different, she surprised him all the time.

...oops.

Kisun skidded to a clumsy halt as the other hare apparently took a tumble. She managed to stop her own momentum before crashing into him, but it left her hovering over him as she tried not to land on him anyway. Kisun wobbled for a moment, then sat down very quickly before she could preform an ungainly bellyflop onto the other hare.

"I'm not Krikey, sorry. I'm Kisun," she corrected him cheerfully, enjoying his unusual way of speaking. "I just wanted to say hello," Kisun explained, wriggling slightly as though she were a cub about to pounce. She wanted to play, even though he wasn't a cub. She usually found cubs. "It's been a while since I saw another hare," she explained, her bright blue eyes excited. "So I wanted to...oh wait, I said hello," Kisun giggled. "What's your name?"

Blinking owlishly he chuckles and shakes his head. "I didn't think it was your name it's a statement of surprise." He smiles lightly, this hare seemed very friendly, it had been a while since he had seen another hare too, well one that wasn't his mother. He had partially convinced himself that all female hares were a bit off their rocker, a few bananas short of a full bunch and this female was, it seemed, just about ready to prove him right.

"My name is Kuukeni." He bows lightly, returning to his usual stiff, stand-offish self now that he had stopped galavanting like a mad hare. It wasn't very often he just let go. "It's been a while since I have seen a hare that wasn't my mother." He smiles his tail flickering and his ears roving around.

An exclimation of surprise?

"Oh. My mistake," she laughed, "It was just kind of close is all, I was trying to recall if we'd met..." Which they probably hadn't. But with her deliberatly ignoring her own memory, it was still possible. She was just trying to 'move on' though. It was hard to 'get over it', so she was opting to do that 'forget about it' thing.

"So it's nice to meet you, Kuukeni," Kisun continued, ignoring the odd twisted feeling when he mentioned his mother. She, at least, had done a decent job of looking after her children...more than Kisun could say.

The male hare smiles lightly and flickers his ears. "don't worry about it." he states simply, his small tail tuft flickering as he looked the young female over.

"We haven't met before." He chuckles, he would have remembered the pretty hare if they had met before. "do you live here? I'm having a short time away from the rest of my family today, thought I'd explore a bit."

Kisun giggled as he assured her they hadn't met before. She hadn't thought they had...she was just...memory. She didn't like remembering...so she refused to. It made some things confusing sometimes, but that could be fun on occasion. Everything ought to be fun, life was too short and cruel otherwise.

"No, I don't live anywhere," she explained brightly. "I like to go new places, see new things, meet new people. It's fun!"

He had a family? That was a vaugly unhappy subject with Kisun at times. But she didn't mind hearing about other people's families. Families were meant to be happy things. Happy people were more fun.

"Family? Like who?" the hare asked, head canted to one side as she listened. His siblings? A mate? Parents?

The monotone male smiles lightly, she was a strange one this female hare, she seemed lost and yet completely here. What a strange thing to be. "It must be fun to be a simple rogue." he states, it was hard work having a family, or at least it was hard work having his family.

He laughs and shakes his head "My mother and younger siblings, she's completely useless when it comes to raising babies so I have to help." he rolls his eyes. he often contemplated how he managed to live to adult-hood with such a mother. "My mothers a bit, hmm, I suppose crazy is the nicest way to put it. She's really just a bit too ambitious. It's a small miracle we haven't all been eaten with her." he chuckles, making light of the odd situation with his mother.

"It's nice though, to have a family, eve a crazy one."

This was a...depressing...subject. She was certain he didn't mean it to be, positive that he meant no ill at all. How was he to know that her own litter had been eaten? It had been such a long time ago, and she never talked about it. No one knew, not even Keena.

It was easier to just forget about it. Forget everything. Now wasn't sad or happy, now was just now. She could do anything she wanted to right now, and not worry about later or before.

"Yes, family is nice. It can be very strange though," she chattered, "Keena and I have a cub, and the cub has two mommies now. But it's nice because we're family." And no one would eat Star, not a lion cub with a lioness looking after her.
