Praise be for school only five out of the seven days of the week. Especially now that the weather was getting so good. Lilith, again in her dorm, though this time perched on a chair by her window, basking in the sunlight. Eyes closed, her hands fiddled with her phone, letting the digital voice direct her around the various options and names. It was the fifth time she'd scrolled over and the voice chimed out with "Iris," and fifth seemed to be the lucky number of the day.

There was nothing in particular that made her decide today was the day she was going to pop the question. Maybe it was the happy-go-lucky warm feeling from the rays soaking into her face. Maybe it was just the blunt fact that eventually, they were going to have to just do it. What ever it was, her confidence was through the roof, and her mind made up without any thought attached.

A few pressed buttons later, the phone was against her ear, listening as the rings echoed through the invisible line. When the person on the other side did answer, she just jumped right on in. "Hi Iris, hope this isn't a bad time." Her memory flicked to the hushed, rushed voice from last time before she continued, "But if you were free today, I was wondering if you'd care to meet up?" She paused, waiting for the answer. As civilians was going to be the next part of this, if she got a yes to her question. Being polite was part of her nature at least, not ramming through with the full extent of her intentions for the call.
PostPosted: Tue May 04, 2010 12:30 am

There was no rush to the voice on the other side of the phone this time. In fact, the girl's voice on the other side of the phone almost sounded relieved that she got a phone call.

"Yeah, hey kiddo, what's up?" Obviously, Iris had to pause when Metis asked her question, but when there was another silence for her to speak, Iris was completely blunt about the whole thing.

"Errr... think yer gonna have t'stop by my place, kiddo. The cat's been kinda runnin' 'erself ragged..." Correction, the cat had been running Iris ragged, "...an' she'll probably get pissed off if I leave th'house without 'er."

Obviously if Sailor Iris wasn't around, then ********* wasn't going to be able to go out patrolling at a moment's notice.

The odd thing was, Iris wasn't explaining why ********* was at her house. Instead, she promptly gave her address, made sure the girl on the other end of the phone had it, then recalled one important fact. "...oh... probably just call yerself a cab or somethin'..." Cabs were reliable for blind people, right?

"********* there?" It wasn't shocked that colored her voice - the cat had said she'd be visiting both of them after all - but the way Iris said it... After acquiring her address and repeating it into a recorder, her brow rose to the mention of a cab. Though the blonde wouldn't be able to see it, Lilith smiled. "Don't worry, the company I usually use hasn't gotten me lost yet. Oh, I hope you don't mind, I'll be bringing my guide dog with me."

After an exchange of farewells, she readied and called the appropriate channels to arrange her ride. Cane in one hand and the handle to Raja's harness in the other, the drive gave her time to relax and think. This call certainly went far better than the previous one, the sound of relief in Iris's voice had lightened her expression... though rose a few questions, especially now that she got the chance to ponder it all. What exactly was ********* so worked up about, 'running herself ragged' as the other had put it? Something clearly was off, though as she paid the driver and got out, she settled herself to find out what exactly that was in due time.

Her cane tapped against the driveway, she for a moment felt the strange sensation that only comes with having no means to know where to go next. Listening as the cab drove off - she had the number in her cell for when it was time to return - her grip on the harness tightened slightly. Raja waited patiently as she adjusted to the new area, moving forward only when Lilith herself began to walk. The dog's nose was twitching, head lifting as she stared ahead.

There were two familiar scents in the air.

Ellie Spectre was under her favorite project in the garage. That project being an incomplete car that needed fixing up. She had a small flashlight in her mouth as she worked on tightening some things on the underside of the pile of junk. Yes, she knew she had some company coming over, but she had no idea when to expect the girl known as Sailor Metis. There was only one hint as to the arrival of girl and her guide dog.

"Cab's here..."

********* had once again forced the tomboy to bring her down into the garage while she worked. It was a good habit to get into, since the cat really was quite restrained with her movement. So there the small manx was, curled up on the washing machine with her broken leg awkwardly sticking out.

Rolling herself out from under the car, the girl pulled the flashlight from her mouth and turned it off, looking over herself for a moment. Her casual garage suit was modified for a girl so her stomach was exposed, grease marks dotting her skin and the cloth of her suit. Not really finding anything wrong, she set her tools on the bench and then wandered into the driveway.

When her eyes caught on the pair in the driveway, Ellie Spectre stopped in place. And then she laughed.

"Oh f*ck!" she chuckled out, leaning forward as she was unable to regain her composure.

"Here I was, expectin' complete strangers... and it turns out I already know ya!"

It probably went unnoticed, but from the washing machine, ********* let out a sigh and shook her head, muttering something about how Ellie was making an a** out of herself again.

Footsteps up ahead caught her attention, head lifting to a respectful greeting level. Interest peaked when she felt Raja's tail thump against her leg, and while she knew the dog to be of the utmost friendly sort, this was not the usual response to seeing a stranger. Unless the stranger was petting or playing with her. Which this one was not.

Laughter made her pace falter slightly, heeled sandals pausing before she continued to approach the one she assumed to be Iris. Her assumption was correct - and met with quite a shock of her own. "E-Ellie?" The smile sprang to her face as her own laugh bubbled up, figure relaxing now that she was fully aware of whose company she was in. A part of her almost wanted to comment on the 'complete strangers' part - Metis was Metis even when she was Lilith, after all - but shook it off with a soft snort and a shake of her head. "I suppose this explains a bit," she grinned, thinking back to the first time they'd met in either form.

At her side, Raja was a bundle of happy energy, barking her hellos to the dog-lover. Oh she definitely remembered her. Lilith was alright with speeding up a bit to allow the canine to bump her head against Ellie's leg, brown eyes bright and excited as she looked up to her. The brunette made a mental note to let Raja out of the harness moment she could.

Empty eyes looked around, though it was more her swiveling her head to focus her hearing on different areas around them. She heard no bell. No jingle. She'd missed the sigh from inside the garage, so asked - "Where's *********? I thought you said she was here..?" Had she missed her?
PostPosted: Tue May 04, 2010 8:27 pm

Ellie really wanted to pet Raja. REALLY badly! However, she was not in the proper condition for such things. She was covered in car grease, which was not good for a dog's coat.

"Yeah, ya might not want yer dog too chummy with me right now til I get cleaned up..." she warned. Since obviously Lil couldn't see the problem, the blonde added "I was jus' workin' in th'garage... and I'm covered in stuff yer dog probably doesn't wanna lick up."

She went back into the garage for a moment and picked up a rag, running it over her exposed skin to wipe it away as best as she could. There was the mention of *********, and the tomboy somewhat paused in place, her cleaning motions ceasing as well.

"Right... you don't know what happened yet... do ya?"

"I'm here, Lilith! I'm on the washing machine... I can't really get over there right now though..." For a moment, the cat was glaring at her blue cast over her leg. Stupid cast! Making life difficult for everyone.

As advised, she called Raja back to her a bit more, lightly tugging on the harness twice until the canine took a few steps back to give the greaser some room. Raja might not have cared about getting dirty, but Lil wasn't too fond of risking the dog's health. If it was just a bath that would be needed, that was another story. But licking up grease? Context clues made it pretty obvious Ellie wasn't talking about the bacon kind, either.

"What were you working on?" An obvious enough question to ask as she by sound tracked the other girl's general movements. Garage and grease hinted to some sort of mechanics, though her only knowledge of this was based on various books she'd skimmed over the years.

This train of thought derailed at Ellie's response to her previous question, eyes narrowing slightly in unease. That 'there's something off' thought was back, especially when she heard ********* voice. "What happened?" Girl and dog moved forward, Raja leading her to the washing machine. Setting her cane against it, she reached her hand slowly out to find the cat. "Are you alright?" Next to her, the golden retriever whined, sniffing towards the cast. That wasn't supposed to be on the cat. No, no it was not.

Before Ellie could really answer any of the questions, the blind girl was already in her garage, investigating the cat. Lazily, she rolled her shoulders into a shrug that went unnoticed before wandering up to her project and tapping the frame a couple times. The metallic sound was a telltale sign as to what she was working on. "That's my project."

The metallic sound caused the cat's sensitive ears to twitch slightly. With a sigh, the cat shook her head for a moment. With that, she moved onto her explanation. ********* could have sugar coated the ordeal. Yet, she wasn't about to give Ellie that saving grace.

"I got squished by a Negaverse Lieutenant after Iris accidentally tied me to him."

A slight pause.

"He was a fatty."

"He wasn't a fatty. He was short an' a kid." This disagreement had been ever present since the whole ordeal, and in all honesty, it didn't seem to be getting fixed anytime soon. Ellie thought one way, and ********* thought another way.

"He was a fatty!"

With a slight sniff, she then returned her attentions back to the blind girl. "Either way, Lilith, I am alright. Just recuperating and patrolling with Iris when I can."

"Try like everyday since this happened!!"

Lilith tilted her head at the first ringing of metal, ear towards the source as the gears in her head whirled and clicked together to connect the pieces of that little puzzle. Metal. Sounded big. Experiences with similar sounds made the corner of her mouth twitch up ever so slightly. "You're into cars?" The kind of funky smell that was the grease was making a lot more sense now.

Had there not been another serious matter to attend to, she would have added how she thought that was really cool, that she was impressed to know a girl was (she assumed) making her way in a male-dominated field. However, her hand found ********* head, giving a gentle rub as the manx began to speak. That little smile flicked right off her features, frame stiffening a bit at the blunt recollection of what happened.

Iris... tied *********... to a Negaverse Lieutenant?

She did hear and heavily note the "accidentally" part, and it's what mainly kept her from turning to Ellie to inquire what on earth would possess her to pull a stunt like that. It wasn't like she'd seen anything that would hint she didn't dislike - Lilith was hoping the word "hate" was too strong - the guardian cat. Still, she listened to their bantering, interrupting only once to point out - "To you he is short, compared to you, I'm short, but to ********* that's a rather huge size difference." Meaning both were right. He was a fatty - to ********* small size - and he was short - to Ellie's five-foot-ten status. The fact that he was classed a child however... disturbed her.

She recalled her "fight" against the young boy in the park and shivered. Children should not be brought into fights. This was, of course, ignoring she and Ellie (and who knows how many of the other senshi) were only teenagers themselves, and technically children as well.

The brunette kept her hand next to ********* head. She might have been bold enough to waltz right into someone else's garage, but when it came to feeling someone's face or search for injuries, well... that was just rude. No no, her parents instilled a good sense of personal space when it came to something like that, even if ********* was an astoundingly friendly and open feline. Permission first. "How bad were you hurt?" Permission first and don't be rude about it, those were her rules on the subject.

Relief at the cat saying she was well allowed her to have the smile from before return, though to continue to listen and hear that they were patrolling together. Everyday. Well... she was a little stunned. And blinked a few times, head turning between the cat and girl as she listened for any further bickering or huffing or what have you. 'Have you enjoyed yourselves?' she almost wanted to ask. Almost. "I could join you two if you ever want." She gave a light shrug as she spoke. It was not a demand, or a plea, just a simple offer to help. Her patrols had been majority uneventful as of late, nothing more than an excuse to get out and not sleep.

"Encounter anything interesting on your patrols?"

The subject of cars was completely dropped the moment they delved into subjects like ********* injury. Ellie normally would have been all over that subject under normal circumstances, but now that a less than pleasant subject had been brought up, it was completely forgotten.

"Yeah, he was bigger than her, but he wasn't fat in any way." This was obviously the tomboy's stance, and she did technically have a point. Bigger didn't mean fatter.

********* wasn't necessarily a stubborn cat, but she couldn't help but disagree with another "Still a fatty!" in a rather childish tone. Her eyes then fell upon Lilith. For a moment or two, she simply observed, but then she gave the open invitation.

"Come now, I know you won't break me by simply touching me, Lilith." The cat let out a gentle laugh before informing her "I have a broken leg... just means I can't walk around."

Seeing no reason to really remain idle for too long, Ellie located a wheeled board and sat herself down on it. She reached over to her bench nearby and simply commented as she saw fit.

"Broken leg and can't take a break. I'd love it if ya could get th'cat outta my hair fer a few days."

By that time, the blonde had the flashlight back in her mouth and she rolled herself under her vehicle.

"I am sorry if I take my duty seriously, Ellie."

********* wasn't sorry. With a slight sniff, she turned back to Lilith. "If you are timely, that would be wonderful. I could use a bit of intelligent conversation while looking for the rest of my girls."

There was a sarcastic, muffled laugh from under the car.

"Nothing too fantastic. Actually, pretty uneventful."

Yes, running into Princess Chronos, assisting another senshi, and awakening a third senshi mixed with a kiss with a female Negaverse agent was apparently uneventful.

Ellie couldn't help but silently disagree from where she was at. ********* had turned into a cat person in front of her. THAT was definitely something pretty eventful.

Even she had to give a vague little nod in agreement to the logic of what Ellie was saying. While she might not have known who the Negaverse agent was, the general statement still made sense. "Saying someone's fat is a rude way of saying someone is bigger... but you do make a point," she admitted to the other teen, giving the cat a little smile as if to apologize. The way the two were going at the subject though, she didn't dare attempt to try and push the matter further. The whole thing had an air around it that told her the argument would start getting just plain silly if it kept going too long.

Which, in a way, it already had.

A blush flicked itself upon her cheeks when ********* seemed to catch onto her little mini dilemma. Her hand slid back to its place on her head, giving a little loving scratch before she lightly trailed her fingertips down to ********* leg. "I know, I've just been taught to not to grab at people if I want to... see something." It was a lame thing to say, she knew, but it was the truth. The first leg was fine and dandy - she'd gotten the wrong side. Finding the leg in the cast wasn't too difficult after that, letting out an ever so faintly disgruntled breath as she felt the rough texture beneath her digits. ********* was safe, ********* was fine, ********* would walk again no problem. This was a relief, but she was still a bit sour to the fact the guardian had been even hurt in the first place.

She blamed the Lieutenant. A hundred percent.

Lilith listened as Ellie moved about, letting her hand now rest on the washing machine now that she was fully satisfied that all was -mostly- well in the world. Rachel Calchas had tsked her daughter enough times for examining injured animals at her office for the girl to know when it was best to not touch. Again the cat and reluctant caretaker exchanged words, though Lilith took her silence and instead bent to unhook Raja from her harness.

The golden retriever shook herself once out, padding over to the working blonde after receiving a quick pat from her owner. She gave a few sniffs at the grease stains on Ellie's pants, sneezing once before settling herself down on the cool garage floor. Out of the way, of course. She was more than content with relaxing and watching the trio, ears flicking this way and that as she took in conversations and the sounds of Ellie working on the car.

"Just tell me when and I'll be here," she told ********* with a smile, ignoring the laughter from under the vehicle. She just completely deleted the intelligent conversation bit from her mind, for while grateful for the compliment, Lilith was not happy to be used in a cheap shot towards her fellow scout. "And, yes," she added in response to the other girl's statement prior, "you could stay with me at the dorm if you ever wished." Though, honestly, she felt that if ********* wanted to leave Ellie's place, they would have already heard about it.

"That's good. More of a chance for you to relax a bit then." Because she had no real reason to not believe ********* when she said it was uneventful. Lilith most certainly didn't have anything to report on her end, so who was she to argue?
PostPosted: Thu May 20, 2010 12:05 am

There was an obvious reason why ********* liked Lilith. It was the fact she didn't try to sneak out of doing her job. Sure, it was a job that most Senshi never really willingly signed up for, but that apparently didn't make any difference to the tailless cat.

"After school, usually between 3 or 4 pm, be prompt. I have a lot of ground to cover, since I cannot patrol on my own during the full length of the day."

There was a slight pause.

"You may want to call Ellie ahead of time, so that she can get home and unlock the door."

There was another pause, but there wasn't any response from the peanut gallery. It was amazing what a flashlight in the mouth could prevent. Including sarcastic commentary.

Rubbing her cheek against the blind girl's hand, she then added her point of view about relaxing. "I do not have time to relax."

She could have mentioned how a Senshi was only a Senshi when they decided to suit up, but a guardian cat was a guardian cat 24 hours of the day. Guardian cats had their own duties which required all of their attention. Zue had to find his season senshi, ********* had to find the rest of her girls, Astraea had to do whatever Astraea or Luna had to do. Not a moment's rest.

However, ********* figured that Lilith was smart enough to pick up on that.

"Lilith, can you pick me up and take me over to Raja? I want to say hello to her."

Peanut gallery couldn't help but let out another sarcastic laugh.

Her head gave a quick little bob, repeating the requested time in her head a few times to make sure she'd remember. Classes were usually out by then, and homework wouldn't be too much of a problem so long as she did any leftovers once she got back... The fact she'd need to call ahead didn't seem to phase her any more than the times. "Alright, I'll make sure to do that." Though she did hope she wouldn't become a nuisance to Ellie by doing so.

The reflective smile was almost sad as she gave the feline another affectionate scratch. It was not a happy thought that even while injured ********* couldn't just sit back and relax for a little bit. But, while she was not aware of the full extent of the other guardians' duties, she was aware of ********* desire to find the rest of the Asteroids. In a city this big, that would require a great deal of leg work, no doubt. What of when they were all awakened and, in theory, reunited as a team? Would the guardian be able to rest a bit then, or would a new goal be set up that would make it impossible for her to?

Once she was sure she could successfully carry ********* with one arm supporting her from bellow and knowing she wasn't silly enough to leap off randomly, Lilith used her free hand to grab her cane. "Raja?" She'd heard the dog move off, but was no longer perfectly sure of where exactly she was now. Raja in turn lifted her head from where she'd come to rest it on her paws, giving a bark as she brought herself up into a sitting position. The brunette grinned, turning and slowly making her way over. "It's alright, just wasn't sure where you were," she told her faithful companion who now sat still as a statue with ears at attention. Until she saw whom her human was bringing with her. Then the tail started again, mouth opening slightly in a doggy grin.

When she'd heard Ellie laugh to all this, she frowned, head turning towards where she approximated the blonde to be. "Why do you... find this funny?" It wasn't an accusing or hurt voice, just genuine curiosity. She'd paused mid-sentence when her cane encountered some sort of obstacle, coming to a stop in her walk till she poked at it (lightly) enough to figure out how long and how tall it was so that she might continue on. This happened a few times, though she never became annoyed. If anything, her brows were going up out of wonder at just how cluttered everything seemed to be. Her steps became careful, not at all desiring to risk stepping on something she shouldn't. Or tripping.

She'd rather not re-squish ********* she did get over to Raja, the dog bumped her head against her leg before lifting a cold nose to sniff up at *********. "There we are," she laughed, lingering for a moment while she quickly tapped the area around her to ensure she wasn't about to kneel on anything before lowering herself to the ground. And bringing ********* down to Raja's level in the process.
PostPosted: Thu May 20, 2010 11:04 pm

The cat easily nestled up against the blind girl the moment she was scooped up. Sure, her leg was completely useless, but the rest of her wasn't.

Ellie was limited in what she could say. In fact, the most she really could do from where she was at, underneath her vehicle, was let out muffled noises.

So when Lil asked her about what she found "funny," she had to roll herself out from under the vehicle and pull her flashlight out from her mouth. "It's ironic that th'cat wants t'see th'dog... that's all..." Ellie had never owned a pet in her life. So her knowledge of the relationship between cats and dogs was essentially what she saw in cartoons. And it was never shown as a nice relationship.

Having offered her two cents, the girl placed the flashlight back between her lips and lay down so she could roll back under her project.

After Lilith had managed to steer the obstacle course carefully and locating her pooch, ********* had one compliment. "You are quite graceful on your feet, Lilith." The gears in ********* brain were once again turning, though she wouldn't let it be known for now.

Instead, right now, she had some company. With a big feline grin, the cat nudged her forehead and star against the dog's cold nose. "Oh hello Raja! It is good to see you!" Carefully, she leaned in close and gave the dog a lick to the nose.

There was a slight pause before the manx added "Oh, you can set me down here if you'd like. Just hang out here with Raja for a bit, and you girls can talk for a bit." She smiled, then winked.

Lilith gave a little shrug. Sure she'd heard of famous eternal war between cats and dogs, but never found it to apply to Raja. Or many other canines and felines really. Besides, ********* wasn't exactly a normal cat herself, surely that could count for something as well. She listened rather intently to the whirl of the wheels as Ellie returned herself to her spot under the car, using it to get an approximate location. Which was right beyond Raja. She took note of this.

"Am I?" she asked, giving a cheerful but faintly proud smile. Sure she had years of practice, but even the ever polite Lilith could have a moment to be happy about having ********* compliment her about it. "I suppose I have to be, or else I doubt I'd be able to even walk down the street, never mind through a crowded classroom." A thought struck, and for a moment she paused, considering before adding, "Leaping around as Metis probably has helped me a bit as well, I certainly wouldn't be shocked if it's had a hand it in all."

Raja's tail was a windy blur by now, leaning into the nudge slightly. To the lick she gave a little happy yip, nuzzling ********* slightly before rising to her feet to step back slightly as Lil began to carefully place the cat down as requested. Once that was done, the dog came right back, lying herself down. Resettled, she again sniffed at the cast, head cocked slightly to the side with her ears drifting back. While she might have technically heard the story of how ********* had been injured, her extent of understanding it was limited. Something had hurt the cat, she'd needed the hard thing on her leg, and now was staying here with the awesome girl - the latter she picked up by said cat's scent being quite obvious around the area despite the grease and other interesting smells.

Sure the brunette hadn't seen the wink, but their conversation at Crystal was refreshed in her head after hearing the suggestion, giving a little nod as she turned to lightly put her hand against the car. Judging distance, she brought herself to her feet, again carefully sweeping and tapping her way over to her new destination - to the other side of Ellie.

If she managed to tap Ellie in the process, she wasn't quite sure, though as she again brought herself down to kneel - making sure not to bump the car - she apologized, just in case. "Sorry if I hit you by mistake." She felt the cold floor through her skirt, though found it comfortable. Warm weather, cool floor, made for a nice combo. The sounds of the other girl working brought back to mind her previously dropped question.

"So how long have you been into cars?" Beyond to have a friend, be a friend, she suspected there was a rule about knowing some of said friend's hobbies. And not getting in the way when they were doing stuff. Which she suddenly hoped she wasn't.
