It was a rare venture for Teleza, but he really wanted to see someone today that really understood him. The nanny had planned to take all the little ones in the pride out on an exploring adventure, so he had decided to slip away for the day and go see Illi'ella. She had been one of the few who understood him, and didn't ask too many questions. Plus, she was the mother of his cubs. And since he had taken his two daughters back with him to his pride, he hadn't gotten to see his other six cubs. He heard Illi'ella describe them when they were asleep, but nothing could compare to seeing them alive and moving.

He started to pick up his pace, his massive frame nimble bouncing through the grass. It was quite odd to see such a large creature moving so fast, but he really did need his speed. As he looked down at his paws, he wondered if any of his other cubs had inherited his size. Or maybe they were normal, since their mother was small for her age. So many thoughts rushed through his mind, and the possibility of his cubs being there when he arrived made everything a bit brighter.

Aeli was on an adventure.

The little golden cub padded through the grass, his eyes bright and his little body wriggling with excitment. He'd found a bug to stalk, and while his 'stalking' was hardly close to what he thought he was doing, the tiny insect didn't seem to care. His clumsy paws were relativly quiet at least, he wasn't doing too badly for himself.

He wanted to catch the little green bug-thing. And then he'd bring it back to show mommy that he could catch things all by himself. Not that he didn't think she was watching right now. Aelius had no idea just how long he'd been 'hunting' the tiny thing, nor had he quite realized just how far he'd gotten.

Wriggling, Aeli lowered himself in a poor imitation of his mother's crouch. He'd seen her stalking their dinner once, but he kept quiet because he didn't want to make the big scary thing with horns notice him and the rest of them. But mommy had just pounced on it and then brought it home to them. Mommy could do anything, Aeli wanted to be just like her...

"Gotcha!" he squeaked, leaping to sprawl on a large stone just as the bouncy bug hopped off somewhere else. He stared after it for a moment, winded by his awkward landing flat on his pale belly. But just as he started to gather his breath enough to stand up and continue 'hunting', he froze, gold eyes going huge with fear.

Something was coming! Something big and black and white and...and big! Panicking, he scrambled to his feet and promptly tripped over his paws, rolling tail over muzzle until he came to a halt in a small fluff of dust. He stood hastily, looking around himself with sudden shock. Where was mommy? He couldn't see her anymore! Oh no! Who would save him from the big scary black and white thing he'd glimpsed before he fell off the rock? It had been coming straight towards him!

(( Sorry about the delay, I've had so little Teleza inspiration. ;n; ))

Everything seemed to just float by for Teleza. It was usually like this on his journies, with nothing of importance on the in-between. His eyes weren't totally bleak anymore, though, as he knew he grew closer to where Illi'ella would be.

His ears twitched a little and he stopped to smell the air. It smelled...sweet. Something he was fairly unfamiliar to. For years the stench of blood seemed to be engraved in his nostrils, never making way for anything new until now. He owed that to his little ones.

It seemed there was something nearby. Teleza shook his large chest and mane and looked around only to find a bright cub. The colors were so familiar, and it was such a tiny little thing. He focused on it, looking over its pelt...yellow, orange, white, stripes...something about that combonation was so familiar. Then he smelled it. His heart skipped a beat, like a young cub in love, but it was filled more with anxiety than anything. He didn't suppose the little cub knew who he was at all, after all, Teleza had left soon after they were born.

"Little cub, where is your mother?" He tried to sound as kind as he possibly could, but his deep voice couldn't be changed. He crouched down a little, to be more level with the little golden cub, and stared at him intently. His black eyes went over his markings so many times; it all made sense. He had his mother's coloring, thank goodness, but had the streaking of his own coat. He seemed regal, in a way, like a little king, and it made Teleza happy, given his former standing in his old pride.

Oh! Oh where was she? Where was his mother? He was so scared, and so lost and...and the world was so big! So big and full of so many scary things! Like birds! And water! And...and other stuff he didn't know what it was! Where was his mommy???

Panicked, the little cub turned in a circle, too small still to see over the tops of the grass. He knew he'd come from mommy's direction, but he still didn't know where she was from here! His head was spinning from rolling over and over, and he didn't know which why he'd come from anymore!

And then suddenly there was a big shadow over him. With a frightened little squeak Aeli flattened down on the ground, his golden eyes huge with fear as he looked up at the massive black and white...lion?...with the big rumbly voice.

"...Aeli...Aeli d-doesn't know," he whimpered, ears flat to his skull as the stranger looked him over. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to talk to strangers, but he didn't know how to not answer his question without being mean. Being mean was bad. And he didn't want to be bad for mommy! But he didn't know where she was! Even though he really, really, really wished he did!

((Aw, that's okay. It happens <3 ))

"No? Well, that's too bad." Raising his head back up, Teleza looked out towards the horizon. "I had really hoped to see her today. If she was here, with the little cub, then maybe she could tell him....

"So your name is Aeli?" Raising a brow, Teleza was quite intrigued as to what the other names of the cubs were. Whenever he visited, he had never had the nerve to ask her, even though he really did want to know.

"Well, if your mother's not here, then I'll watch over you for a little while." Smiling, he slowly lowered himself to the ground, keeping his eyes on the small cub. It really was fascinating, how genes mixed together, and this little boy was so striking.

Aeli shuffled his paws anxiously as the huge black and white lion spoke to him. Mommy said not to talk to strangers he didn't know all by himself. He'd already broken the rule once, but heroes were different. They weren't like regular strangers. But this stranger was a big stranger.

He was scary.

Even if he wasn't being mean or anything. He was just...so big. Much bigger than mommy was. The cub didn't know what to do!

"M-mommy...mommy is...s-s-somewhere..." he tried, sniffling faintly. He wanted his mommy! "Aeli...d-doesn't know...where anynow." Distinctly unhappy, he watched as the big lion sort-of shrank. He knew, because mommy and his siblings did it often, that the stranger wasn't actually smaller. He was just looking like it. For a little.

"M-mommy said Aeli is...Aeliusss," the golden cub corrected hesitantly. He didn't want to upset the big stranger or anything...
