Floodwaters threatening the south

We just started getting all this rain here in CT.
While its not exactly flooding here, I know that some of
us live in areas were it does flood. How do you deal with it?

Oil spill may last another week

Another week? How much more of this can the coast take?
They say some areas may get hit with oil contaminated waters
while it may miss some like Mississippi. But I think the real
danger is the mammal and sea life in the coastal regions.

Car Bomb in NY Times Square

Just goes to show that we still aren't safe. Yes, the city has
stepped up the game in security and no one was hurt. But it's
just sad to see that there are still people trying to open the
wound from 9/11 for the most ridiculous of reasons.

April's Full Moon

Did anyone happen to catch the full moon a few nights ago?
It was beautiful! I attempted to take a pic but... that didn't
work out at all... >_> Anyway, I can't wait for June's moon!

LOL! I was thinking about doing this too! :3 I'll just pm you random stuff that I find interesting... :9 You can pretty it up!

1. We're actually really dry out here in Cali. Some of my friends have to deal with the flooding, but they don't really talk about it, they just deal with it. Out here, we have to deal with the drought and conserving water... :< We gotta import most of our water even though we live by an ocean.

2. The oil companies have to clean up after their mess. Literally. Because of their greediness, the s**t has hit the fan and many people will suffer for what they have done. I think its about time that they come clean. I hate the oil companies because every time a means of a cleaner way to run things comes along, they buy it under the table and hush up whatever happens. They have enough money to clean this up, but because of their major loss in profit they're going to pretend they don't and complain a bunch about it. My heart goes out to that coastline for the people of the communities going bankrupt and the sea life.

4. D: I think I saw it... I try to catch the full moons because it makes it so bright outside. I like to walk outside. :3 Its really pretty.

Edit: Another topic to add to this. In China, there has been a bunch of middle aged men going on sprees of hurting Kindergartners. One went in and stabbed like 29 kids in the head, and a few days later, a guy ran in with a hammer and wounded a handful of kids. These two guys weren't the first either, apparently this has been happening all month. I've been looking out for anymore sprees, and thankfully have found none. But you all know how hush, hush China can be. ; ___ ; Poor kids.

It's pretty terrible down here in Tennessee. It's pretty surreal for me, because it's fine at my house. It rained and stormed a whole lot for two days. @_@ It's a natural disaster in many places around. Many interstates and roads were shut down, leaving many people stranded. Homes have been flooded.
I can't get to campus, because the river near by has reached an all time high (61 ft, all the other water sources empty into it), so they've shut down all the bridges. The campus should be fine, it's a good ways uphill from the river. Here's some pictures of the road by the river: link

I'm really worried about the people who don't have flood insurance. I just don't understand how some people will be able to afford to repair their homes without help. I asked my mom about it and she didn't seem to hopeful about the government helping out much.
