Character Name: Arelly
Age: Fifteen turns
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Candidate / Apprentice Minercraft (masonry)

History: Arelly was born in Marsitas Hold to a family that leaned on the small side - consisting of her mother, father, and an older brother who was seven turns her senior. Her mother was a Weavercrafter, while her father was a proud mason, a Minercrafter, but both were unranked. The petite wife and robust father created a pair of children that reflected them almost perfectly, with the small daughter and the stately son. However the circumstances of being not only the youngest child but also having an older brother with a rather strong physique prompted her to toughen up in order to stand her ground during wrestling bouts with her brother. So in time, an apparent athletic build made itself known on her small bones as did a pronounced spike in her energy levels, to the surprise of both parents and the particular delight of her father.

Arelly was unofficially trained in masonry since the passing of her eighth turn while waiting for her brother's return from Crom, where he was sent to become a ranked Apprentice. She learned the basics of the craft and excelled, quickly becoming the apple of her father's eye. He had high hopes to send her to Crom as well and have her become a ranked Minercrafter; it was a rather selfish wish on his part, seeing as he had never officially ranked and walked at the Crafthalls, so the knowledge of his offspring achieving what he was unable to filled him with pride.

While he was very anxious to see this pass, he never outright pressed it on his children, since both of them took to the craft anyway there was no need to force anything. For her part, the girl enjoyed the attention her father doted on her, and the praise she received only made her work harder. If he was this approving of her now, think of what could happen when her skills grew!

These plans would be derailed when a Search made its way to Marsitas, and Arelly found herself selected among a group of others to become a Candidate. She was overwhelmed with the promise of something new, quickly adjusting the ideas of her future from Crafter to possible Dragonrider, and just as quickly she became enthused with the idea. When she presented the idea to her father, he was stunned, to say the least. Both jobs were important, the Dragonriders especially, but the girl had shown promise, and when trained ...

With persuasion from her mother though, he finally relented in his indecision, and Arelly's journey took a different turn as she headed to Malvren Weyr. At the age of fourteen turns, she became a Candidate, and since then has been working as she always has: with (over)abundant energy, constant gabbing, and anticipation for what comes next.

Description: Arelly is on the smaller side, standing at a modest 5'3" and built with a fairly compact but athletic frame. It seems she is a late bloomer, lacking in hips and bustline, but it suits her just fine. Her messy auburn red hair she keeps cropped just shy of her chin, and by the end of the day the bangs find themselves plastered to her face from the day's exertion. She has a bright, winsome smile and fairly decent teeth, interrupted by a gap between the front two. In combination with her ovular faceshape, it only enhances her features to appear more child-like. Her complexion is decent if not a bit splotchy, and her skin tone is healthy. Her light gray eyes are cheerful and always wide open. That said, she has a penchant for a wandering gaze, but this doesn't mean her attention is fully diverted.. yet.

As far as clothing goes, Arelly habitually dresses for the basics of her first craft. The sleeves of her dirtied white tie-front blouse are rolled up to just below the shoulders, where a section of skin is exposed before her arms are covered with the thick hide of her workman's gloves. The shirt is a touch too large for her and is fashioned to be worn much like a tunic, with a belt sitting over the shirt and the rest hangs down. Tan breeches are tucked into calf-high brown boots, well worn from all her running around.

Personality: To put it simply, Arelly can be summed up as a whirlwind.

The girl is always on the move, energetic and putting her best foot forward. She is loud, proud, and a bit on the boisterous side, which is especially comical coming from someone so petite. Her presence is active and bright, and she will always be the first to welcome newcomers and get them caught up. Conversation is something she particularly enjoys, but that is not to say the conversation will always be intelligent and held on one note. She has a tendency of dancing from subject to subject, and her attention is easily diverted should another topic be brought forward, but she always makes an emphatic and fun conversation partner.

Overall, Arelly's energy can be described as both a blessing and a curse. She also struggles with impatience; anything that idles longer than a few minutes will be greeted with fidgeting (normally twisting her hands or a tapping foot), as well as a pronounced whining edge to her voice. She is a woman entirely for instant gratification, and because she is set on delivering this ideal to others through her work, she has come to expect this from everyone else as well, unfair as it is. Paired with her energy levels, this impatience can make her a tiresome person to keep up with, although it is a fault she has been called on before, and is working to address it, honestly.

Her best work is done with her hands, and she uses them for everything, especially with her talking. When she cannot find a point she wants to focus on, watching how her hands move as though trying to turn the gears in her scattered brain will provide entertainment enough. On the practical side, her fingers are very nimble, as is the girl herself, being built more for moving constantly and moving quickly. While it may seem that her active nature is, well, natural, it also has to do partly with the fact that she doesn't know how to relax. She is easily bored and has to keep moving, otherwise she becomes overly lethargic and her focus blurs even more.

She is defensive of her faults, and will initially be quite upset by any flaws pointed out in her person or in her work. Naturally she will argue the point back until proven otherwise, and even then she will maintain a mopey silence. Give her a few days though and she'll be right as rain, and ready to chat you up happily once again.

Other: I would like the blue flitter I recently got to go to her, if possible~ :3
