Fav. Food: Hearty carbohydrate heavy dishes like rice, pastas, and breads. Simple flavors, filling food.

Hated Food: Cassava. A common root from her home land that has to be boiled long enough (sometimes DAYS) to rid it of it's bitterness. A handful too many occassions with it not prepared quite sweet enough for her have pitted it very VERY low on her list.

School: Meadowview

Hobbies:
Volleyball - Aitana loves to play just about any active sport but volleyball is her favorite. She's a very aggressive and passionate player who loves running, diving, spiking, and driving the ball as opposed to standing back and waiting for it. She loves to sweat and challenge her body. Aitana can get very competitive and passionate about the sport, yelling and sometimes trying to drive the ball at other players. She's a great physical asset to the team but her sportsmanship isn't always the greatest. Because she's not an amazing student (she's pretty much a straight C student) she was accepted to Meadowview moreso for her sports apptitude then her grades.
~ Prefers two on two style playing as it is more active and challenging but usually has to play six on six through the school
~ Also prefers beach/mud volleyball over indoor games due to familiarity with her home/past playing and it's increased physical challenge

Gymnastics (balance and acrobatics specialty) - Builder of flexibility, speed, and raw arm strength. Aitana began doing gymnastics when she was very young (the routine kiddy stuff like cartwheels and balance beams). As she grew older and her skills improved she developed a love of the uneven and parallel bars. Because she wasn't fond of the seemingly girlie and rigorous structure of the sport she began to shy away from groups and competitions in early middle school. She still adores the sport however and partakes in it whenever possible under the guise of 'conditioning her body for volleyball'. She's also an avid tree climber and playground maniac. XD

'Experimenting' - Aitana is curious as a cat and she isn't afraid to give things a try just to see how she'll like them. Her move to America only helped to strengthen this 'hobby'. She wants to see movies (all kinds, every kind until she finds some she doesn't like), taste all the strange new foods, and explore all that is different between the city and her old home. She's very hands on and enthusiastic about her experiences.

Atheletism - Aitana spends a lot of her time playing sports which helps keep her fairly fit and full of stamina. She just adores pushing her body to the limit and challenging herself and she's always happy to help when it involves something physical. Being into sports and activities has even taught her that sometimes it IS necessary to work together with others. In group activities she's actually pretty good at merging in with everyone, picking up slack when needed, and relying on others for the good of the 'team'.


Virtues:

Laid back - Life is too short to be serious all the time, sometimes you just gotta relax. All of the super seriousness that Aitana shows during sports melts away when it comes to free time and she enjoys hanging out and just being goofy. Most stuff rolls off her shoulders and she's fairly 'go with the flow' in normal situations. Occassionally her laid back goofiness can crop up at inappropriate times like during class. But for the most part, outside of competition, Aitana is a fairly pleasant and relaxed person to deal with.

Tough cookie - A general state of emotional 'meh, whatever' make it hard to phase or deeply bother Aitana. You won't ever catch her crying at girlie movies, or sitting around debating why Billy doesn't seem to like her. She takes her own advice of just getting over it. She's also pretty physically tough and can take a hit without making too much of a fuss.

Nothing is impossible - No and cannot are not really words in Aitana's dictionary of life. She will try her darndest to do what she wants, when she wants, and noone is going to put a damper on that. She believes very strongly that all dreams and goals are attainable with enough effort and drive. A small streak of stubborn and optimism help spur on Aitana's view that nothing in the world is impossible.

Confident - Aitana is an independant and happy girl, confident in who she is. Her own skills and her own views are enough to reassure her of her worth, so she doesn't particularly need other people to validate her. She seems, for the most part, to be almost immune to feelings of self loathing and uncertainty which is perhaps why she has such a hard time recognizing them in other people.


Flaws:
Rough around the edges - Both physically and emotionally Aitana can be come off a little rougher then she means to/than the situation dictates. Due to her strength and high tolerance for pain she doesn't always realize when she's gripping someone too hard, or that what she considers a playful shove others might consider abuse. She can also be rough on other people's feelings sometimes, seeming generally apathetic to their emotional needs. It isn't uncommon for her to hurt someone's feelings and then just make it worse by not understanding why the person is upset and how it is her fault.

Lacks social graces - As a tomboy Aitana lacks a connection to many feminine qualities and graces, and therefore to many other females. As a Brazilian exchange student she lacks experiences and certain connections to American life. Her personal disconnected attitude also helps to further alienate from what society might consider 'normal'. In the end, it often makes her appear to be ill mannered, odd, and sometimes rude. Of course cursing like a sailor, being a general 'country bumpkin', and not caring if she comes off as awkward really doesn't help either.

Apathetic - In general Aitana is anything but a touchy feely and feelings kind of person. She lacks empathy for others and is more likely to say "Suck it up!" then offer any real words of comfort. Strong emotions that she might feel occassional are repressed and tucked away, and her own ineptitude with her emotions makes it hard to accept them in others. Because she has a hard time thinking about and recognizing other people's feelings she often hurts them without realizing it.

Competitive - One of the best ways for Aitana to challenge and test herself is pitting herself against others. In sports situations she tends to get extremely serious and very vocal, willing to do just about anything other then cheat to win. She doesn't take well to losing either and can get pretty verbally aggressive when it appears she may lose. If she DOES lose expect a rematch, or at the least relentless attempts from her to try and egg the winner into a rematch.

Pressing her palms together Juno leaches energy from her teammates (it takes a bit of their endurance, enough to make them a little tired or winded, but not enough to cripple them unless already fatigued). A stream of glittering energy travels from her to her ally(ies) and a shield of dense branches, vines, and leaves appears before them (like a wall in front of them). The shield can withstand a few attacks (unless firebased of higher leveled magic)
~ Shield only shields allies, not her (steals their energy to protect THEM)
~ If she's stealing from one person the shield covers one person, two - two, three - three.
~ If Juno is fighting alone she's SOL and cannot use this power at all.


Super Sailor Scout Attack: Dense Foliage
Pressing her palms together Juno leaches energy from her teammates (it takes a bit of their endurance, enough to make them a little tired or winded, but not enough to cripple them unless already fatigued). A stream of glittering energy travels from her to her ally(ies) and a shield of dense branches, vines, and leaves appears around them (like a half dome). The shield is slightly stronger then before and can withstand a few attacks (unless firebased or higher leveled magic)
~ Shield only shields allies, not her (steals their energy to protect THEM)
~ If she's stealing from one person the shield covers one person, two - two, three - three.
~ If Juno is fighting alone she's SOL and cannot use this power at all.


Eternal Sailor Attack: Tree's Tight Embrace
Pressing her palms together Juno leaches energy from her teammates (it takes a bit of their endurance, enough to make them a little tired or winded, but not enough to cripple them unless already fatigued). A stream of glittering energy travels towards her enemy, encasing them in a barrier (like inside, covering all sides) of leaves, vines, and branches. It technically protects the enemy from physical attacks, but they can't attack through it and must break through it to get out. (in effect they keeps her allies safe for as long as the enemy is incased)
~ If Juno is fighting alone she's SOL and cannot use this power at all.
~ The number of enemies she can encase is based on the number of allies she can suck energy from (1 person - 1 enemy, 2 - 2 enemies, etc).

Juno (the asteroid and the mythology)
* One of the larger asteroids, unusually reflective, eccentric orbit.
* Patron goddess of Rome (compared often to Greek's Hera)


Life before senshidom
~ She hails from Amazonas
* Northeastern state in Brazil (most of which is forested)
* Mixed farming, tourism, and industrial economy.
~ Lived in the rural areas, and LOVED her occassional trips to the cities, especially for festivals
~ Father and mother both work in tourism related fields (father - forest canopy tours, mother - hotel maid work)
~ Aitana enjoyed speaking with tourists whenever she got the chance

The transfer
~ Aitana's ability to transfer schools is connected to her volleyball playing. So she's pretty much forced to play for the school team if she wants to stay.
~ Sports is one of the few topics she's pretty comfortable and fluent with in English and Portuguese and she seriously enjoys chatting with teammates and competing with (or trash talking) rivals.

I reworded stuff with the help of LP and now I'm a little happier with what I have. Still totally open to help/suggestions.

Even added my first ideas for directions that attacks could go.

Will decide on challenge once I decide on what direction to go with for attacks.

Hey there Iris, I’ll try to give you a little critique to help you out! Ps. I love Juno! She sounds so adorable, and Caty will have lots of fun hanging out with Aita! <33 x3

Hobbies

Volleyball: Maybe add more about why she’s deals with being on the team, is it just because she likes to be aggressive? Also, is she searching to join a volleyball team now that she’s in Destiny city? Or was that just back in brazil? Also, It feels like this part is put together harshly, where it needs some help flowing right? If that made sense. XD

Rebeling: This one was worded funny. I understand that she was trying to rebel and push her boundaries, but how come? Is it just because she’s doing it for the heck of it? Also, does she rebel in her classes as well? With her family? Her foster family? Just more detailed will make it stronger! =3

Goofing off: More detail wouldn’t hurt at all! I like the fact that she loves to goof around and hang out. As for more detailing, does she do it only with her free time? Or does she do it when she’s in class? Also, does her host family enjoy the fact that she’s goofing around with people in their backyard?

Virtues:

There really isn’t much to say here to me. I really like the way you described her virtues, and maybe having them relate to her life in Destiny city now would make them stronger. Such as with the athletics, is she going to just talk with people about them? Or is she looking for a new team, to help her ‘fit in’?

Flaws

I really like your flaws as well! I can’t wait to see what you have for Competitive.

As for attacks, I really like the idea of her stealing energy from a team mate to create a defensive shield of branches/vines to protect herself. That would be really unique, and sounds like a strong attack for the normal and super stage. You could have the super stage be that she can protect one other person with her vines/branches? I just think that would be really cool! XD;;

Active and Athletic for me seems less like a virtue and more like something that would fit in with her hobbies; think about how that adds something admirable to her personality instead of her physique. Does she enjoy a challenge, does she handle losing well, is she able to keep up with a task and stick with it for long periods of time? Being physically active is a lifestyle choice that requires a fair bit of dedication, maybe you could focus on that. ouo

Thanks Goo Jun Pyo and Mouse! I really appreciate the help.

I tackled the hobbies, added a little girth to them that hopefully helps to explain them a bit better.

I will ponder over the suggestions for virtues and flaws while I'm at work tonight and rework with them a bit when I get home (or in the morning if it's super late xp). I was kind of 'ehhhh' on active and athletic too anyway so changing it a bit/reworking it won't be a problem. I think I probably will lean towards the enjoying a challenge, because proving herself to herself is definately her. :3

She seems like she’s going to be very fun to play! I really like the two hobbies of Volleyball and Gymnastics and the information you put into them. It’s probably just me, but I’m a little iffy about Rebelling and Goofing off as hobbies. I feel like they could be combined more into her flaws rather than as hobbies. Of course, I don’t really know what I’m talking about, so they could be just fine. If you’re going to keep them, maybe a little more information on them? Such as other situations she’s gotten herself into? At least for the Goofing off, one.

I like her virtues, too. She seems to be a strong character, so maybe you could play that up a little more? I’m not sure how, though… Maybe a bit more on her Confidence virtue.

Her flaws look stable, too. I especially like the first one, so maybe elaborate just a little? Such as other times it’s gotten her into trouble? I can see her yelling “There’s no crying in volleyball!” Sorry, that was lame.

I can’t wait to see her Challenge!

I don’t know how much it could help, but did you know? After it rains, the floor of the rainforest turns into a concrete-like substance because of the lack of minerals? Maybe enemies can be stuck to the ground as she attacks from above? Or maybe a camouflage/hiding defense? Especially since she wears green/has green hair and eyes.

Gratuitous attack ideas (mostly inspired from your own brainstorming material):

-thick branches appear under a target (or they can be left at a specific location, as a trap). The branches are lifted suddenly at high speed, and when reaching a specific height, they disappear. Can help as a sort of makeshift launcher for escape, or a straightforward attack that will only hurt the opponent if they don't have enough time to react and land properly.
-a bunch of vines fall from the sky (but they're still attached to... thin air?). They can wrap around the enemies, or Juno can use them for easy transport (in which case it could be better to have them break if anyone other than Juno tries climbing them).


Huh, basically, I already like the rough stuff you've written. Especially the vegetal shield and anything involving branches for transport/lifts. I really don't have much to add. sweatdrop

@ Guine - I've been oggling your gorgeous quest thread, I didn't post because I don't have anything constructive to say, but good gracious it looks gorgeous and chock full of info!

I've been thinking about nixxing rebellious anyway, it was something to try and tie her into the canon character, but it isn't fitting so well. Iwill try to see if there isn't something else I can use in it's place.

I will try to add a bit more to goofing off (Other than her seriousness revolving around sports I imagine he being fairly 'go with the flow' and even borderline lazy when it's relaxing/chilling time)

Ohhhh I hadn't even thought of camouflage, that's a good one. I think I've finally decided to go with prodominately tree/branches/fauna attacks since most of her teammates have water attacks (water, water, and humidity if I recall correctly)

I think her Eternal attack lifts enemies way too high! Perhaps 20-40 feet instead? A 150-foot freefall would likely severely hurt anyone.

If a mod tells me that is the case I will change it, but I had specific reasons for choosing it:

The canopy level of forests (the rainforest in particular) ranges from 100 to 150 feet on average.

I actually looked up information to see if people could survive falls from that height and, as long as you don't land on your head, people could survive from that height, so magical beings with special jumping skills should have an even better chance of survival.

That said it is awfully high so if I'm told to change it I'll try to think of something, I was just trying to work canopy symbols/information into my attacks. :3

Sorry it took so long for me to write a crit for you, I meant to help out the teammates much sooner!

Your hobbies are great, but I think maybe “Experimenting” isn’t quite the right word for that hobby. Does she do scientific experiments? Or is it more that she likes to try new things and to have new experiences? Does she get bored if she runs out of things to try?

Your virtues and flaws sound good to me. With the competitive flaw though, does she boast when she wins? Is she cocky about her skills? You say she’s verbally aggressive if she starts losing, but does she start with the trash talk before a game as well?

While I appreciate the connection between the sailor and super sailor attacks, I think that one being defensive and one being offensive makes them too different to flow properly. The super sailor attack is supposed to just be an upgrade from the sailor one. Now, I love the idea of the canopy being a shield for the senshi. The bracers seem like a cool idea, but they’re not quite as representative of the sphere, in my opinion. Maybe the upgrade for the super sailor ability could be that the canopy shield will protect Juno as well?

The eternal attack is cool, but 100-150 feet does seem high. We’ll see what they say about it, but you could just change it to “the enemy is taken up to a great height” without actually mentioning the exact height.
