 The light tanned body made its way across the tall green grass that waved gentle in the wind, the smoky brown eyes glanced at the clouds again looking for the familiar shape of wings and a large body attach to descend but she was still no where in sight.
“I swear Viski if you show up late I’m not going to be here again” the stallion muttered under his breath knowing his cousin would always be late to any sort of meeting she made with him and he always like a fool would wait until hours into the night for her. She was the only member of her family that he enjoyed being around, in fact he would go as so far to say she was also the only friend he had ever considered to actually be a friend. True he didn’t care either way if he had tons of friends or not being alone was never a problem it was dealing with those whom he thought were stupid hanging around him that bothered him more. Closed narrow mindness of unaccepting relations seemed to urked under his skin more than anything those and completely self rightous knights.
Shaking his head Ahote made his way to the edge of the treeline, his eyes still pinned to the sky failing to pay any attention to where he was going.

It was then she noticed a light tan-colored stallion staring up at the sky, and wondering what the hell he was doing staring up at the blue, blue sky, she made her way over. Maybe he'd be entertaining enough for her to stick around--plus, he'd be her first friend outside of all the family friends and so on and so forth. Her family was so big she still didn't know half of them, but she didn't want to. Her family was chaotic, but if it was normal she figured it'd be boring. She began to trot and then canter as she got closer to the stallion who just seemed slightly lost in a daydream. Slightly.
"Hey!" she called out as she moved closer at a fast pace.

Ahote’s ears perked as a voice sounded near him, his sandy brown eyes dodged to the figure that was moving quickly towards him. It was a mare orange in color with a mane and tail of a dark black like his own and guessing from her expression she was happy to see someone else existing other than herself. Quickly looking around the sandy brown eyes scanned the area looking for another figure hopefully standing near him, however seeing nothing more than an empty tree line and the tall waving grass he could only assume that she was talking to him.
OH great not what he wanted to deal with at this moment either a lost mare or someone who was really bored and lonely he could feel a frown starting to edge across his lips. If it had been his brothers they would have jumped to the chance in helping others especially a cute mare, he on the other hand thought it was more of annoyance. Airheads with no sense of decency other than to flutter their eyelashes at the first sight of a handsome stallion who would simply bow to the whims.
Giving a glance to the sky , “oh come on Viski hurry it up,” he muttered before looking at the mare again.
“Hello….” His voice replied somewhat disheartening.

She skidded to a stop directly in front of the stallion who had given her an unenthusiastic "hello". Rolling her eyes, she tilted her head and then clicked her tongue at him. Why did he look at her like she was stupid? Now that was just plain insulting. What kind of a stallion would look at a mare with pity and think she wouldn't be insulted? Pfft, stallions who didn't know what they were in for, that's who! Stallions like this guy in front of her probably didn't know one wit about the better mares out there, such as herself!
"Hey now, that ain't no way to greet a lady, and I know you's not stupid and know better, right?"
Oops, she had slipped into some wild-speech, so she immediately corrected herself. She grinned at him full-out, and quickly launched into a self-introduction. "My name's Sinopah! Everyone calls me Sin, though--who are you? You're the first guy I've seen who looks like he got lost!" She wasn't lost so much as she was exploring, since her family's claimed lands were nearby. Of course, they bordered another herd's lands for all she knew...maybe this guy was from that neighboring herd?

Ahote watched as the mare as skidded and stopped in front him her disgruntle looked only meant that his somewhat lack luster hello dampened her gun ho spirit. What he was even more surprised was the fact that she pointed out immediately that she was not what he had expected of her, and that she was someone who apparently had a mind. As soon as the words escaped her mouth Ahote could feel his stomach sink another inch, no instead of the lost mare he found someone who spoke their mind in fact it sound more like he found his cousin but in a louder, brighter form.
Shaking his head he tried to put on a smile for the mare, “I’m sorry miss but I can’t help but at times to assume that most mares are the same in behavior flutter their eyelashes as their seemingly minds can’t seem to comprehend how to actually act with a brain,” Ahote replied his voice a little perked but she seemed to speak a mile per minute. Well at least she wasn’t shy that was for sure he couldn’t help but want to edge away from her somewhat out going exuberance, and where was that other mare?
“Wah wait I’m not lost” Ahote replied returning his attention to the mare from looking at the sky, “I was waiting on someone, Sin, and my name is Ahote. There’s more to it but Ahote is fine enough to call me.” He looked at the mare again her blacken mane hanging in all angels of braids and feathers, “it’s….. a pleasure I assume to meet you Sin.”

She paused as he introduced himself, and then she rolled her eyes. "Goddess, you are the most boring stallion I've ever met. Normally, stallions either try to flirt with me or fight--guess I'm used to that." She started circling him with a skeptical look, and then she stood in front of him once more, shaking her head. "Sheesh, you sure you're not lost? You got this day-dreamer look on you, and you're already assuming things. Hope you have a better head on your shoulders--not every mare is a damsel in distress. I mean, really. It's not like we're stuck with an unfortunate overrun of Kalonas--they's not that bad. Oh, but I do believe we'd be in trouble if the Skinwalkers got outta hoof, right?"
She grinned brightly at him, and then continued, not really giving a chance to explain more of himself. She always got bored with all the niceties anyway. "...'Kay, 'pology 'cepted, I guess. I don't care, just don't look at me like I'm stupid. If it was my sister or anyone else in my family, your butt'd be on the ground and you'd be whinin' in pain." She chuckled, and then turned to stare at the sky skeptically. "It's already afternoon--how long were you waitin'? Yeesh, if you're waiting on a mare with wings, you're better off flirtin' with a mare on the ground. The wings would only make you sigh with want, right? That's just stupid to hope for a love that might not love you back. Choose a better one!"
Oh, she was probably already getting on this guy's nerves--hm, maybe she picked this up from Epesi... but no, Epesi annoyed people for a living, whereas she just enjoyed confusing the crap out of other Soquili. Like this guy. He looked aghast and thoroughly shocked. How funny. So she laughed at his startled look, thinking that today might not turn out so boring after all. "Pleasure to meet you, Ahote-something-more-to-it," she greeted laughing all the while.

Now this was the first no one had every called him boring? Grumpy yes but boring never, this was news he never thought he was a boring stallion. Usually he got that he was a jerk, or an a**, or even a complete selfish b*****d who had no heart in caring about others than himself but boring? His eyes followed as she circled him watching her every move her orange coat looked more like that of a fox but the splashes of black seemed misplaced, and her hair was just as messy as his adopted sister’s. He watched as she continued to chatter away her lips moving and a grin starting to etching across her face. She seemed to be enjoying herself!
Finally putting together what she was saying he shook his head, “hey hey now just because she has wings doesn’t mean she doesn’t want me around and she is always late. Besides it’s not like that. I have no interest in dating my cousin much less did I even pick her to be my cousin. She just has the habit of doing too many things at once and well being late happens to be her one of her common traits,” he replied making a face at the mare. It was sort of a cross of a questioning brow mixed with a frown. “And your one to criticize me in judging all mares to be damsel in distress meanwhile I get accused of being in love with my cousin sheeesssh.”
Looking at the sky again before letting a grin start to spread on his face as she started to laugh, wait why was he smiling for?

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with being in love with your cousin! ...Well, if you're super-distantly related, maybe. Might be a little awkward if she's a first cousin from an uncle who's actually your mother's brother... Yeeeeeah, that wouldn't work out so well, nevermind." She watched as he lifted his eyes towards the sky again, and let out a silent sigh. "Okay, Ahote--looking at the sky ain't gonna make her come here any faster, so you might as well spend time making friends with me here."
If his proclamation of his cousin being late was true, they had plenty of time to chat and make friends. He seemed nice enough already, though from what she could see he seemed more interested in waiting on his cousin than paying attention to her. That was fine--she was being a chatterbox today. Normally she wouldn't chatter this much but she'd had enough of silently observing the silly dramatics of her family--which was when she had decided to piss off Aruna and her mate. Now that had been hilarious. Aruna's mate was so easy to pick on because he got riled up so quickly. She snickered to herself before she returned her attention on Ahote.
Somehow, he reminded her of her father, Hania, though Hania was slightly darker--almost a caramel color, actually... a nice little semi-dark tan--orange?--color. Well, that explained why she was so orange; her mother was a fox--literally! Mahiri was a fox-colored mare, and she took after her mother like a bat and its wing. Well, sort of. Okay, bad comparison. Focus, girl, she scolded herself, and then smirked.
"So, if you're not so boring, do something that's, well, not so boring! I take it you're used to "pretty" mares and their sighs and fluttery eyelashes? Hoo boy, I know those types. So ditzy, and stupid, and the brain of an ant--no wait, ants are smarter. Hm... Well, good thing none of those mares are around, they'd probably try to kick my cute butt, but again, they aren't smart enough to understand the kicking of my cute butt anyway." She was trying to make the guy laugh--did she see hints of a smile there?
