Landry emerged from behind the curtain in a his wrestling gear, a determined look on his face, though the irremovable air of confidence still surrounded him. Everyone remembered what happened to him last week when Tyson Briggs interefered and kicked him in the head during his non-title match with the WWF Champion, and even those who had boo'd him then had decided to change their tune and give him supporting cheers in hopes he gets some measure of revenge against the number one contender tonight. He moved to the center of the stage and struck his signature Heartbreak pose as his warped blue/green pyro erupted behind him in a glorious blaze.

"Introducing first from Denver, Colorado, weighing in at 245 pounds, 'The Hearbreaker', Mike Landry!"

Landry began marching down the ramp, an extra sense of purpose in every step as tonight he not only had the chance to get back at the man who attacked him last week, he had a chance to get into the title picture if he defeats the number one contender.

Eventually he hopped up onto the apron in one vertical leap and slid through the ropes. He bipassed his usual pose on the turnbuckle and instead requested a microphone from the ringside attendent.

"Last week...I had a main event match with the WWF Champion, Matt Draven. And yes I know I said some disparaging things about the champ that I stand by to this day, but that doesn't mean I don't have some respect for him. You see me and him at Place Your Bets, we had knock down drag out brawls that would put anyone else on the injured reserved list. But you know what? He showed up and faced me like a man."

He said with a tone of absolute certainty and confidence in his voice.

"Tyson Briggs is not that man. Tyson Briggs is a man in the sense that Matt Shanahan is a man. Tyson Briggs is a thug, a coward, and a jealous fool. The only way he can face a real man is to attack him from behind, and he proved that last week when he kicked me in the head, and laid out Matt Draven during a 5-Star match in the making."

Mike paused to clap with the fans as they began to cheer for the Champ. Though he believes he would have won in a real match, the DQ win he aquired just didn't seem right.

"So tonight, i'm going to do to Tyson Briggs what I did to Matt Shanahan all those years ago in WWE:U, and what i'm going to do again the moment I get my hands on him. That's right. MATT SHANAHAN! I'M CHALLENGING YOU RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, TO A MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA!"

To which the fans gave a huge reaction. They were going to see career long rivals go at it at the grandest stage of them all.

"Matt Shanahan, I love Phoenixfire. As much as a man can love a woman. I love her more than I loved Ashley, and I hope you remember what I did to you when you tried to manipulate Ashley, because if you thought that was painful then you haven't seen anything yet. Matt Shanahan if you can't remember the past then you are doomed to repeat it, and you are as doomed as any man that i've ever met. So tonight Tyson Briggs gets his, and at Wrestlemania Shanahan if you are any kind of a man, you will get yours. So Says The Heartbreaker, So Shall It Be!"

The fans were actually behind Landry in full force save a few holdouts as Landry laid down the challenge. However Landry couldn't look past Briggs, he was the number one contender for a reason, and if Landry wasn't careful he was going to find out what that reason was.

Landry shrugged his shoulders and elected not to utalize the five second period that Briggs gave him, and instead dropped his mic and attempted to slap him square in the face.

While Tyson's use of full inbridled rage unleashed at one time was effective, Landry kept his cool as he knew he'd most likely piss him off with that action. Landry was punished with the fists to the face but was using what he could to time the shots and try to avoid them, then reach up and try and apply a guillotine to stop the freight train that was Tyson Briggs.

With the hold locked in Landry kicked his legs up and tried to wrap them around Briggs so that he couldn't shake loose. Landry sprung his surprise like a venus fly trap and now he had the advantage.

Should his leg wrapping be successful, Landry would try and push up with his hips and roll over his shoulders so he would be on top, the guillotine choke still locked in tight.

((Actually I rolled you onto your back with me on top and the choke locked in, but i'll continue with it. Lol))

Landry was amazed by the strength of the man while his blood and oxygen was being stripped of him second by second. Landry kept the hold in as long as possible to wear him down, but inevitably he was plowed into the corner and forced to relinquish the hold.

Landry slid through the ropes to avoid the incomming Tyson train a' la Christian, then rotated his body so he was facing him. He then attempted to slide back through the ropes while hooking between Tyson's legs for a modified schoolboy from the corner.

((I miss doing this in an actual ring...It was my favorite pinning combination... crying ))

Landry was tenacious, and he proved it by pursuing Tyson after he escaped the school boy, attempting to pick his legs and execute a jacknife pin.
