Marie slowly walked into the ER entrance she was unsure where she should go and being a new hospital not all the signs were up yet and not all the staff hired for the non essential personnel. She had decided to get some information on childbirth and prenatal care from the hospital and not just the library so when the baby came she knew what to do since she couldn't afford a hospital or anything like that. She tucked a stray strand of brown hair behind her ear glancing around the lobby a little seeing medical magazines but not much in the way of pamphlets and such but she looked at what little was out about different medical conditions. she wore an old pair of sweat pants not a lot of her old clothes fit her anymore, and a cheap mens t-shirt over it.

The Twins
Alexander sat on his grandmother's right while Christian sat on her left. Both of their hands were linked together, resting in their grandmother's lap while her own hand was sitting atop theirs. She was whispering quietly. Telling them a story while they waited to be seen. Alex started up a coughing fit and Chris followed with one of his own. Coughing it sounded horrible to their grandmother. And it was even worse when she watched them both spring out of their chairs and run to the bathroom. Alex and Chris both threw up whatever they had eaten this morning. After cleaning themselves up they trudged back out to their grandmother, who was waiting outside the door.
"Let's sit you two down." She said helping them back into the chairs. Alex looked over at his twin who's face was still red and could only guess that his own face looked just as red as well. The two of them had only thought they had a cold. Their noses had been runny for about a day, they had been tired, sick feeling, and a little feverish. But their grandmother thought it was something else. Which was why they were here now. Chris snuggled up against his brother as Alex rested his head on his twin's.

Dr. Makayla Thomas entered the triage area of the emergency room, pulling a stethoscope from around her neck as she entered. She had intended to give Tristan's parents a call and had been on the way to her office when she had overheard the horrible coughing that had made her come in here instead. As soon as she saw the twins and an elderly woman that had to be their grandmother, she walked over quickly. "My apologies but we are severely lacking in medical staff at the moment. I'm Dr Makayla Thomas."
She turned to the twins and said, "That's a nasty sounding cough you two have. Let's get you back to a treatment room so I can take a closer look."

The Twins
Alex glanced over at Chris, seeing that he was looking worriedly at him. Their grandmother was rubbing both of their heads. Sighing impatiently, unable to help herself. After all thess were he grandsons and they were sick. The grandmother glanced up with a look of relief on her face when a doctor walked over. Both of the twins looked up as well as she spoke. They looked at each other before nodding their heads. "They both have had runny noses and this horrible cough since I picked them up today." The grandmother said as she looked down at them.

Dr. Thomas nodded, gesturing for them to stand and leading them back to a treatment room where she could examine the twins more thoroughly. This sounded suspiciously like whooping cough, in which case the twins would be admitted to the pediatric ICU because of the difficulty breathing, and how infectious the illness was,

The Twins
Alex and Chris followed the doctor and their grandmother into one of the exam rooms. They both wore frightened looks on their faces. They had never been to the hospital before. Well that they could remember anyway. Their grandmother watched with a worried frown as the twins were walking, nearly stumbling upon one another. Her worry increased when they both suddenly went into another coughing fit. Alex's and Chris's face were both turning red, almost purple, as they coughed. Finally the fit passed and they were able to breath again.

Marie turned looking to the twin boys worried for them she hoped they would be ok. She agreed with the grandmother and the doctor it didn't sound good. She also noted the 2 boys looked nervous and scared to go back to the treatment room, she had an idea. she walked over right before they went back to the treatment room "excuse me, i'm sorry to interrupt but i just wanted to tell you how well behaved your grandsons are i mean most kids would be crying and screaming if they were sick. here if its ok I'd like to give them some lollipops i have?" she said pulling a couple dum dum's out of her bag offering them to the boys they were mystery flavor ones. She gave a small grin hoping it helped calm the boys, as she winced a little herself rubbing her swollen belly a little in an attempt to calm the little one inside it.

The Twins
The twins glanced up when they were approached by a woman with a swollen belly. Meaning that she was going to have a baby. The grandmother smiled at the girl's words. "They are being so brave." The grandmother said with a smile. Though she frowned a bit when the girl offered the twins lollipops. They looked at the lollipops before they both took each of them. Alex and Chris however didn't bother to open them and eat them. Their coughing fits made it where they didn't want to eat. Mostly because they would only throw it back up. But they took the lollipops to be polite to the pregant woman. "Thank you." The twins both said in hoarse voices.

"yes they are" she said in agreement smiling at the boys "your very welcome i hope you feel better soon" she really did they were to young to really have problems in life, well they shouldn't have problems. She knew being sick especially that young would really suck and it sounded bad no kid should have to deal with that. she gave them a kind smile hoping the lollipops helped cheer them up a little, her own grandmother used to say a smile was some of the best medicine their was.

Their grandmother smiled at the young lady while rubbing the top of her grandsons' heads. Alex and Chris both looked up at the nice lady who had given them candy, nodding their heads slowly at her words. "Want to get better soon to." Alex said as he squeezed his twin's hand. Chris nodded his head as well. They almost were smiling. The twins wondered if their mother was still mad at them. Alex and Chris both hoped that no one would ask about the bruises. Both of them loved their mother dearly and wished that she would return their love. Neither of them could fully understand why their mother always seemed unhappy. Was it because of them or because of their father?

Marie gave them a small grin and waved a little as they went back with the doctor. She watched them for a couple more seconds until they were all out of site before moving back over to the pamphlets and magazines slowly looking through them for information on pregnancy, child birth, newborns, and anything else that might be helpful to her.

Walking into triage, Dr. Greyson saw Dr. Thomas treating two little boys, and gave her a quick wave. Continuing her walk to the nurses station in the middle of triage, she kindly asked the nurses if there were any patients that needed her help. If I'm here, I'm working...not sitting around, she thought.

Suddenly Dr. Greyson's pager went off. She was needed in surgery already. And so the day begins! she thought before hurrying off to the O.R. to help Dr. Vaughn.
