When Sam is found alive and returns home, he is not the same person and greatly effected by war, appearing to be silent and distant from everyone. He is convinced his wife slept with Tommy while he was gone and conflicts escalate further...

This movie give a good insight to what happens to soldiers who return from war traumatized to their families. It was shocking to say the least what this man went through and how he had changed dramatically when he returned. Toby Maguire did an amazing job switching personalities, the before and after of this character are just amazing. I have to say I like the message and the plot from this, but I think it could have been better edited and put together in my opinion. The editors kind of removed parts that I thought should have been there. For example: The look on Tommy's face when he found out that his brother is alive. That scene should have been in there.
