Slipknot is a nu-metal band, which is closer to rock then metal.
And I personally have a strong dislike for them.

Nu Metal is derived more from rock elements than metal elements, so I'd say it's closer to rock than metal, even though a lot of it is also influenced by heavy metal.
Some of their songs are good enough to listen to, some of their songs are really bad IMO, it just depends. But Before I Forget is one of their better songs.

LordKhrima Nu Metal is derived more from rock elements than metal elements, so I'd say it's closer to rock than metal, even though a lot of it is also influenced by heavy metal. Some of their songs are good enough to listen to, some of their songs are really bad IMO, it just depends. But Before I Forget is one of their better songs. Nu-metal isn't influenced by metal at all. It just wishes it was "harder", so they up their image to be "dark" and add unnecessary distortion that makes the entire thing pretty sickening.
