Hirame was, simple enough to say, bored out of her mind.

The vixen had always been a loner, but there were times when even she was in the mood for company. She could wander the forests and plains forever, but the rare time when a fox came around that didn't annoy the hell out of here was...sometimes welcome.

There hadn't even been any rotted tree trunks falling down or lightening storms to occupy her time. She had slunk though the woods for several days, now. The day before she had made an excellent kill of a deer and had feasted on the carcass until she was full. But now, as she pawed her way over the pine needles and general wood debris, Hirame wanted something to do.

She paused, sniffing the air. If she kept going in her general current direction, she'd find water. And if she was lucky, it would be a good place to swim and even rest for a day or two.

Chiara sighed softly, padding through the leaves. She'd been alone and walking for the bast few days, and she'd resorted to humming a few days back so that she was hearing a voice, even if it was the monotone she never broke free of.

She listened to only the sound of her steps on the leaves now, her jaws locked closed - she thought (thought!) she'd heard another fox and Chiara quieted so that if it were aggressive, it could not find her before she found it, and if it were kind, it would not be irritated by her emotionless humming.

Sticking her nose through a brush, she noticed, barely, a flick of grey and yellow, the sight a mere accident. Interested, she followed it, realising that, once her body was half uncovered, it was another fox - the one she'd heard earlier.

Quietly - because she always spoke quietly - and monotonously - because she always spoke monotonously -, she spoke up, in a voice that she hoped was loud enough to be heard. "Hello there."

She tilted her head, pulling the rest of her vibrantly red body through the bush, flicking her tail to and fro, making a slight rustling sound whenever it came in contact with the leaves.

Lightning. An interesting pattern - but was this fox like her, and the opposite personality from what their colour would let on? That would be quite uneventful - two emotionless foxes wasting time in the forest.

As it was, she merely met her blue eyes to the other's stormy, inexplicably interesting grey ones, and waited.

Hirame's ear flicked at the sound of leaves rustling. Propably just a squirrel or some small, annoying rodent. They weren'tworth her time. If she hunted one, it was only fun to chase after it and n** at it's tail, to hear it squeal as the big predator drew closer. But they were hardly a mouthful-nothing that would sustain her for long.

She continued on her way towards the water, pauing only when she heard a low voice speak. She twisted around to find another fox, bright red, standing behind her. The vixen had greeted her with a hello, but Hirame wasn't quite the sort to spend time trotting around and through cordial greetings. She jumped directly to her questions. "Can I help you?" she snapped.

The other fox had been surprisingly monotonous, as if she never really experience anything fun or did anything interesting. She supposed it could have just been the fox's personality-but that was so boring. She stood with her paws spread slightly wide, as if to look bigger. Not that she was concerned about that-she was a respectable, average size for a vixen. It was purely instinctive.

Chiara blinked; help her? No, no this other vixen couldn't help her, she hardly needed help, and it wasn't as if Chiara even knew who she was - it was an accident that she'd stumbled upon this other vixen, and it wasn't as though that - were she to need anything - she would want to tell the other or even converse with that sharp tone. However, since she had no problem, she was more than willing to ignore the other's tone for sake of being the rock she was so well known for.

"No, I suppose you can't. I was merely investigating a noise so as to be sure that it was nothing harmful to me." She shrugged her shoulders rollingly, tilting her head to the side and studying the other curiously, immune to the fluffing up - it didn't bother her, and she certainly didn't feel threatened enough to show it.

"Can I, you?" It was an innocent enough question, said in her usual monotone, and was meant seriously - though her tone left more than enough room for it to be taken as sarcasm.

Hirame growled at the fox, baring her teeth and flicking her tail warily. This red vixen was getting on her nerves-she had expected her to be a vibrant as her fur colours, energetic and spontaneous. Instead, there was this unemotional rock that wasn' even scarebable. Disappointing. "Well, good. I wouldn't help you even if I could!"

She stood up straighter, turning as if to walk away. Regardless of whether or not this fox followed her, she intended to enjoy herself. She looked back at the fox when the vixen spoke again. "You? Help me?" Hirame snorted at the thought. "Youd can barely help yourself to happiness or emotion. If I needed help, I wouldn't expect it from you."

Perhaps she was being rude, but Hirame didn't care. This fox was being just as rude, really, and it was making her all the madder."
