[[ This is an open rp in response to the Nightmare Announcements. Anyone can jump in. I won't be keeping any sort of post order since I'm sure there will be a few groups talking to different people and not in one big group. If you are in a smaller group, try and be courteous to others and allow them time to respond. ]]

It was 3 a.m. and the ShufflePuck was open. Due to a recent surge in business around midnight, the café had decided to test out extending their hours by a little bit. Seeing the same lines as they would during the morning rush, the store was doing well for itself but one wouldn’t guess this by the worn, tired expressions on the faces of their staff. Faces that mirrored those of their customers. From pajamas to wrinkled outfit, they dragged their feed while waiting in line for their espressos and bunkered down to get a early start on next year's taxes or that book they were always meaning to get around to. Anything to fill their time. Even teenagers, who were suppose to have a curfew due to the recent spike in crime, risked it all for a sweet cup of piping salvation

Ladon was here, and staring at the hard, cardboard, cup sitting in the middle of the table before him. The happy java beans that smiled on the label only made him want to throw the cup across the room just to crush their optimism, but that would require too much effort, and frankly, he was too tired. Sneaking out of the house, he tried to run off the last bit of energy he had, but nothing was working. He didn’t feel like patrolling at the risk of falling off a roof. So he was here, at the ShufflePuck, breaking under the pressure of no sleep. Ladon was going to drink a cup of coffee. His first cup.

Coming from a family that praised whole wheat and fat-free organic, caffeine was a ‘drug’ that wasn’t supported by the Shepard household. The loophole was that he wasn’t at home, and his judgment was compromised by having only a few hours of sleep stretched across a few days. If he didn’t get something to perk him up, he was going to wind up passing out on a crosswalk and getting killed. It was a matter of life and death here! So here he was, reaching out to peer into the tiny opening of the lid warily and take the first few sips of what would hopefully keep him alive for a few more days.

Jaimie Leontyne shuffled in, stiffing a massive yawn with the back of his hand. He was tired, no... bone achingly exhausted, but he dreaded the idea of closing his heavy eyelids even to blink. Especially after this last nightmare. The very thought of it made his stomach do an unhappy flipflop, but he searched for a table in the crowd of other dozy faces anyway.

Technically, He could have possibly found coffee on campus, but Killingworths niece made coffee so horrible the taste would probably knock him out for a week. He didn't think he'd survive that...

Lily had tried patrolling, sneaking out like she been doing for weeks now, she really had, but she knew she could not do it alone. She was simply to tired, she couldn't even call someone to patrol with. Her thoughts were so unfocused and even in waking filted back to her nightmares, she couldn't even focus on her cellphone long enough to summon it. It was a wonder she was even able to power up.

Knowing she'd only get herself killed if she tried to patrol like so she found a place to power down and started the long trek home. She hardly made it a quarter of the way before she was distracted by a lit up store.

She looked up to the sign, even having a hard time reading it. ShucklePuff? Lily frowned before refocusing and reading the sign again ... Shufflepuck. "Oh," she said out loud having heard about the coffee shop from students at school. It was quite popular, though she had never been before and apparently it was open late.

Lily shrugged shuffling into the shop. She was truly uninterested in going home and attempting to sleep anytime soon.

More people came in, and Ladon glanced up from time to time before looking back at his cup. Breathing deep, he tested with a small sip, waiting for the hot beverage to burn his tongue. Having let it cool, he could take a bigger drink, but he regretted this action when he actually tasted what he was drinking. BITTER! He cringed, shaking his head as he set the cup back down. It was harsh, deep, and had a pungent flavor that he couldn’t describe as anything but awful! How did something like this, that created such a nice aroma in the air, look and taste this fowl?

He looked about, watching as other people eagerly emptied their cups, happily reading magazines without even flinching as they took a taste. In fact, they seemed to have a ‘aww’ expression each time, glad to finally get their orders and find some relief. Relief that Ladon wanted! Sighing, he looked around and spotted the tiny counter filled with sugars and creamers. Seeing as he couldn’t drink his coffee any other way, he picked his cup up and went over, undoing the lid and working to somehow concoct something he could drink.

As he moved, he excued himself past a taller boy with a simple, "Excuse m- " But was then attacked by a sudden yawn that he took one hand to cover his mouth and wait for it to pass. " -me."

Lily made her way to the front counter to stand in line with a few other rather tired looking people. She found herself unable to make the connection between all the expressions and nightmares she and her brother Xander had been having. Though her thought did wander to the rest of her family and how they were faring.

A voice was clear behind her and she hand waved before her face. Lily blinking before swatting at the hand and attempting a half hearted glare. Her eyes went up and roamed the coffee selections truly unsure of what she should get. She could hear an annoying tapping coming from beind her, which irritated he greatly. She rolled her eyes, frown sitting heavily upon her face, "A caramel latte, please."

As soon as she recieved her drink she moved away from the counter as quickly as possible. The money barely made it into the cashiers hand and she did not wait for her change, the whole line seemed annoyed enough with her. Though she could simply be imagining it.

Staring at the drink, she frowned knowing she had only had coffee twice before and thus far was unimpressed, but it did the trick. So she wondered through the sleep crowd looking for an empty table or at least a somewhat familiar face.

"No problem..." Jaimie noted to Ladon, stifling another yawn which made his jaws ache. "I think everyone here feels the same way."

He couldn't remember a time when anyplace had been this busy at this hour of the night. It was sort of odd, the idea that so many people were trying to hold sleep at bay so desperately. He just wished he had enough -good- sleep to think about it more clearly.

Instead he felt fuzzy, half detached, like time he'd stolen some champagne from the party when he and Celeste had been a lot younger. ((it had seriously made him wonder what the hell the point of getting plastered was, the taste wasn't unpleasant but the side effects....))

"They must be making a fortune..." He noted, and yawned again, though he wasn't even sure if he was still talking to the smaller boy, or to himself. He was so tired he wasn't tracking well.

Truly miserable. Those were the two words that could be used to describe the blue-haired young woman who staggered into Shufflepuck's with a mournful and mutinous expression. She hadn't even bothered to put on real clothing before shambling out of her window like a zombie, so it was that Audrey Collins was wandering about Destiny City in her pajamas. To be fair, it was a simple pair of grey sweats with a heart on the thigh, and a simple t-shirt with some sort of logo across its front under an uncharacteristically black and pink hoodie. It was emblazoned with the words 'Save the Tatas' across well, her tatas.

Vaguely she remembered paying for a coffee and a four-pack of their giant cinnamon rolls which were fresh even at this hour, and she sank into a nearby couch like a zombie before even noticing the company. One head stuck out, with another boy that she'd seen before at Jada's ball. "Ladon! And...Jaimie? I think? Sorry. Tired, memory is shot." Really, she looked like hell. Eyes were bleary and bloodshot, as if she'd been crying, and her voice was even thick. "Early mornings for all, huh?" ******** nightmares.

He blinked blearily, waiting for his brain to process who was talking and how he knew them. Something something party.... Oh yeah! The debutante affair.
What was her name? Anna? Ari... Aubergine? No... Audrey!

"Yeah, Jaimie." He confirmed her guess with an exhausted, humorless smile. "Audrey I think? I'm not doing much better. I already checked my wallet twice to double check my own name."

He gestured faintly at the counter. "Anyone mind if I join them? I don't feel like wrestling for an empty booth. I just need to order."

It was a vicious cycle of yawning, and when the boy yawned back, he had to turn and cover his mouth to end the process before they spent the entire time just yawning at each other. As he did, he noticed a familiar mane of tousled, aqua-blue that caught his attention. IT seemed someone else on his team had slipped out of their house, and he waved to his Captain when she came over. “Hello, C- uh, Aubrey.” Being tired nearly made him slip up, and he covered this up with a fake yawn before reaching over and picking up some creamers and sugar packets, deciding he’d probably dump them all in since he couldn’t stand the taste of what he was drinking. He’d start off with weak coffee. Pure black was just horrid.

As Aubrey seemed to know the other boy, Ladon gestured for him to follow them to Aubrey, who was already sitting down on a couch. Moving over, he sat on a chair at her right and started to shake the sugar packets before tearing them at one end. “More like I couldn't sleep. What about you?” It seemed to be going around, and he wondered if it was environmental or if someone tampered with the water.

"Audrey it is, and there's a lot of chairs and couch over here. I am a magnet for company, because I don't think even this will keep me awake. No touching the pastry though, I'll cut your fingers off." Only Ladon knew that she was dead serious about this, knowing that she had the strength to probably rip off fingers, sans knife. "Same old. Bit of work, bit of lack of sleep. Got home sorta late from a complication at work." That complication was a senshi who had run like a scared little girl (which she was) when realizing that they were fighting a Captain. Linarite had been too busy with her hands in a man's chest to really chase. Or that was the excuse she was using.

"Got home, couldn't sleep, decided that I was done with this curfew thing and snuck out." Parental curfews were for kids that had been in trouble with the law, or had teen pregnancies. She'd had neither of those (that anyone knew of), so felt free to disregard any time limits her parents set on keeping her in the house. "Maybe it's finals stress? I'm graduating at the end of the month." The first cinnamon roll had almost completely vanished by now, and she was sucking on her fingertips to remove the frosting so it didn't get everywhere. "You stressing on school too?"

She did not find a table but instead a empty couched and slowly made her way to it and exhaustedly ploppled down into the soft warm cushions. She yawned rather loudly without even cover her mouth before she slowly sipped her coffee enjoying the warm it offered. It almost chased away the chill of her most recent nightmare ... almost.

She was brought out of her thought by familiar voiced and she turned looking over to couch beside the one she said on. Rubbing her eyes and blinking once, twice, three time. Sitting on the other couch, was Jaime, Ladon and the blue haired girl, um Jada's friend from the ball.

She shuffled on the couched turning to fully face them.

"Hello," she said softly, but loud enough for them to hear.
