- I quietly stood there and snipped the beautiful roses off the bush. -

- I lifted one up to my nose to smell it romantic perfume. -

- The garden had always been my favorite spot, -

- there were so many happy memories here. -

- I love to take roses to my room to bring some of that happiness there too. -

- Out of the corner of my eye I saw Kaito sitting on a bench watching me like he always had. -

-I turned around and smiled at him, -

- his eyes widened like they always had then quickly looked away. -

- "Kaito?" I said, -

- I lightly walked over to him "hai" I said and and softly laid my hand on his ice cold arm. -

- His skin used to be warm until a month ago, -

- I have gotten used to it though. -

- He looked at me then placed his free hand on mine, -

- "hai" he said then slipped away leaving me to stare at the horizon. -

- I clutched the roses close to my chest, -

- he had always been my best friend, -

- but deep in my heart I knew I loved him. -

- I sat there at my desk playing with my pencil, -

- Kaito had acting strange lately, -

- his soft but hard eyes never looked at me anymore, -

- it was really starting to bother me. -

- I sighed and dropped the pencil, -

- I glanced at the roses, -

- they seemed to calm me down. -

- I grabbed on out of the vase and snipped off the bottom of the stem.-

- I stared at it for a while then thought I could give it Kaito. -

- I stood up and walked out the door. -

- In the hallway all I heard was the echos of my footsteps that seemed to haunt me. -

- I finally got to Kaito's door and knocked, -

- he answered, there was a awkward silence. -

- "I wanted to give this to you" I said and handed him the rose, -

- his ice cold hand brushed mine sending goosebumps up my arms and down my spine -

- "Thanks he told me" then closed to door, -

- I stood there for a second, -

- normally he would have invited me in. -

- I bit my lip then left -

- I sat at the diner table munching on my food quietly. -

- I looked across the room at Kaito, -

- He hadn't eaten any meals for a month. -

- I sighed and started eating again. -

- † -

- I saw Kaito in the hallway after diner, -

- "Kaito" I yelled -

- he stopped and turned around, his eyes meeting mine. -

- "Hi" he said and showed me one of his rare but wonderful smiles. -

- Then I realized a fact that would seal my fate, -

- I loved him, that was why I cared so much! -

- His smile faded "you alright your eyes are as big as diner plates" he said. -

- I looked at the ground "yes of course" I answered. -

- I sat on a bench in the garden, a soft breeze blew threw my hair -

- I felt someone's presence behind me, -

- I turned around expecting Kaito but it was someone else. -

- "Hello" he said "hi" I replied, -

- there was a long silence. -

- "I'm Goro" he said "Miku" I answered. -

- "What a beautiful name" he said, -

- I looked up at him "thanks" I said. -

- He smiled, "here" he said and picked a rose, "this is for you" he said and handed it too me. -

- I stared at it as if he had just given me a bar of gold, -

- "its wonderful" I said gripping it tightly. -

- He smiled then left. -

- I sat there and stared at the rose for a while then went in for breakfast -

- † -

- Diner was routine, -

- I ate, -

- I checked on Kaito. -

- His dreamy eyes met mine making me think of how much I loved him, -

- I quickly looked away. -

- It was all normal until Goro came up and asked if he could sit next to me, -

- "Sure" I answered. -

- † -

- This time Kaito caught me in the hallway, -

- "Who was that guy who sat next to you during diner?" he asked. -

- "That was Goro" I answered, -

- He stopped me and grabbed me by the shoulders "you cannot go near him anymore" he said. -

- "uuu...why?" I asked -

- "just trust me" he said. -

- I walked through the garden the next morning. -

- There was so much going through my mind, -

- Goro and my love for Maiko. -

- Everytime I got near Maiko my pulse quickened and my stomach flipped. -

- But Most of all why did he want me away from Goro? -

- Suddenly a huge thrust of strength hit me a sent me flying into a wall. -

- The air was quickly forced out of me and I collapsed onto the ground. -

- I heard a evil laugh then something said "its a pity I have to kill such a pretty thing". -

- Some strange force lifted me so that I was standing. -

- A soft finger lifted my chin up to face it, -

- "now open those precious eyes of yours" it said. -

- I slowly opened my eyes "there we go" it said. -

- "Goro?" I whispered, -

- "Thats right" he said in his oft smooth voice. -

- "Now" he said grabbing a knife "lets get down to business". -

- He started dragging the knife up my arm. -

- I screamed in pain as my arm started turning red from all the blood. -

- I was breathing hard trying to ignore the pain, -

- That's when Maiko came and grabbed Goro then nearly threw him across the garden. -

- The force let go of me and I fell limp into Maiko's arms. -

- Maiko looked at Kaito he had to tell her everything. -

- He took a deep breath and pushed every bit of info about what he was into her brain. -

- † -

- Floods of images and words were flying past my eyes. -

- It was hard to figure out what it ment, -

- No human food, or drinks, -

- ice cold skin, super strength, fangs, vampires!! -

- All you had to do to change was drink just a tiny bit of vampire blood to change. -

- Then everything fit into place, -

- Kaito's ice cold skin, how he did not eat, his strength, -

- Kaito was a vampire... -

- My eyes flew open, -

- vampires didn't exist!! -

- I was not a believer...but the evidence was hard to ignore. -

- I climbed out of my bed....wait how'd I get there...oh nevermind. -

- I raced down the hallway and pounded my fist on Kaito's door. -

- He answered almost immediately, -

- "are you a..." I asked "vampire" he finished for me, -

- I let out a breath "ya". -

- "lets discuss this over a drink" he said opening the door wider. -

- I peeked in and smiled, -

- he had set up a couple wine glasses. -

- "Answer my question first" I said "yes" he replyed. -

- I quickly checked my neck for bite marks, Kaito laughed -

- "you can never be to careful" I said glaring at him. -

- He grabbed my arm turning my whole body to ice and lead me in. -

- I sat down in a chair, -

- he took a sip of whatever was in his cup. -

- "I was changed about a month ago" he said, -

- that explained a lot... -

- I took a sip of my drink, -

- suddenly a burst of adrenalin shot through me. -

- I tryed to stand up but I was to dizzy, -

- I grabbed the table making everything shake off. -

- I struggled to breath, then I fainted once again into Kaito's arms. -

- Kaito looked Miku's beautiful yet lifeless body -

- He pressed his hand against his temple as flashbacks of thier childhood went through his head. -

- He just didn't want to see her hurt anymore, -

- he had put his own vampire blood in the wine. -

- Would she even make it through the transition? -

- Did he just make the biggest mistake of his life? -

- He would have to wait and see... -

- I was starting to wake up, -

- there was so much energy pumping through me. -

- I felt the fangs with my tongue, -

- I was no longer hungery, -

- I was a vampire... -

- I opened my eyes -

- "you changed me" I whispered. -

- I sat up and looked Kiato who was lying the the bed -

- "why" I asked and started pawing up his chest. -

- "I didn't want to see you get hurt any more" he said. -

- "Are there anymore reasons?" I asked, -

- He paused then grabbed my hands. -

- He sat up and put his face a few inches away from mine, -

- "I love you" he said then his lips touched mine.... -
