User Image The dull golden hide of a rather large looking lion lay amongst the tall reeds of dried grass, his form barely visable thanks to the blending of his pelt color. For the most part the form was still except for the slow rise and fall of his breathe, and perhaps a twitch of an ear to catch any stray sounds. Don'Zaraasir had been blessed by whatever god or godess had been looking out for him on the day of his birth, for hunting had been made easy for the male lion. He was quite lucky his coloring was neither too bright, dark, or wildly vivid, for then he was certain prey would have an easy time spotting him. But as it was, he certainly had the upper paw, just as long as he didn't make any stray sounds that would alert the herd of antelope no more than 50 yards away to his presence.

On silent padfalls Don crept closer, his body low to the ground as his shoulders sloped up and down with every carefully placed step. Not much longer and he'd need to break off into a sprint, one of his least favorite parts of a hunt. For you see, he was slow to get going, and by the time his speed was up to par with theirs they were likely to have already out run him. Thus, the large male needed to keep his cover for as long as possible, and close as much distance as he could in that time. Its wasn't all the time that he had this much luck on a hunt, but any the most skilled were bound to face defeat every once in awhile. For despite his complementing colors to the open terrain of dry grass, Don'Zaraasir only had himself to rely on when it came to catching food. As was the life of a rogue.

The wind blew unfavorably away from him and the lion stopped, hunkering down further into the tall grass as keen eyes watched for a reaction from the herd. A few lifted their heads and looked around, a some made a nervous step away from his direction. Don remained still, withholding his breath as his muscles tensed, preparing to spring to action if need be. Luckily the paranoia did not spread to the entire herd, which meant his position hadn't been comprimised just yet. Ever careful, the tawny colored male continued his endeavor to get closer before eventually initating the chase.

It had been some time since she had had that small run in with that young male of a pride she couldn't remember the name of. Did that matter, no not particularly. Prides were all the same in her opinion, a place for lions to be all happy and together. That life wasn't for Tawi, at least now it wasn't. At one time it had been, but that was a long time ago and things had happened since then to make her hate prides and families.

Padding onward, ever onward Tawi spotted a herd of antelope up ahead. She wasn't hungry now as she had come across an abandoned zebra carcass not long ago, but there was a sense of joy when one watched a herd scatter in fear. Even at a distance she could see the herd was tense, but as far as she could tell it had nothing to do with her. So taking advantage of that she burst forward, muscles carrying her quickly towards the herd. The antelope began to scatter, running away from the brown lioness.

A small smile crept across Tawi's maw as they did so. She was so focused on the herd that she didn't notice the large male lion concealed in the grasses until she was nearly on top of him. Skidding to a stop Tawi barely avoided running into him. Looks like she had spoiled someones lunch. Oh well, and with a slight shrug she began to walk off. The male would probably come after her for ruining his hunt but she didn't care all that much.

It was of those days apparently. You know when everything's going fine until some random here or there spooks an entire herd? Must have been something on the wind he supposed, something that had just sent them reeling. It wasn't him of course, and you want to know why? They weren't running away from him, oh no, in fact they were running in his direction. Why? He didn't particularly know or care to know, all he knew is that someone had just made his job that much easier. Don kept his muscle tight and bunched as he prepared to crash himself into one of the oncoming beasts, just waiting for that right moment to spring. It would have been now. Now was a fantastic time to let loose and tackle the thing to the ground. Now was perfect in fact. Except for one tiny nitch in his plan.

For a moment he was almost dumbfounded to find himself face to face with another lion, her appearance alone the only thing dettering him from springing forward to catch his prey. And so he stayed there in his crouched position, stunned motionless it would seem as she gave a mere shrug and walked away. Shaking off the surprise encounter with a huff of breath, the male stood up to survey the area. No antelope in sight, just the image of the herd fleeing in the opposite direction. Don flicked an ear at the thought of chasing after them, knowing full well they would be too strung up after that to even bother stalking after. Fantastic.

Without a word Don'Zaraasir began to walk after the lioness, figuring if he couldn't get a meal, he might as well take a few minutes to collect himself before finding other prey. And if he was going to do some walking, might as well be starring at the back-side of something interesting. For she did leave him somewhat curious, mostly with that little shrug she gave about the whole incident. Don wasn't too worked up about it, normally a relaxed if not apathetic lion himself, but he did nothing to conceal the fact that he was indeed following her. And not in any rush to catch up.

Tawi knew the male as following her, though he was keeping himself quiet, not saying anything to her. Fine, let him follow her, she didn't care. Chances are he would eventually just get bored of doing so and wander off. Tail flicked slight, a mix of agitation and amusement. Tawi didn't particularly like being followed even if she did bring it upon herself to be put in that situation. In fact Tawi just didn't like being any others at all, which is why she was eternally walking, to avoid such encounters as often as possible.

She ignored the male who trailed her for a while, but soon her frustration started to get the best of her. Her one ear flicked a bit, another sign of her not wanting to be followed anymore. Finally she spoke to him, but kept her eyes forward as she continued to walk. "What do you want?" It was a simple question sure, but perhaps he would explain why he continued to follow her.
