A restless night had left Sini without much more than a few minutes of sleep. The green-eyed female couldn't explain what stress or preoccupation it was that had turned her usual patterns on their head. Sini did not sleep much as it was, but when she did it was normally very deep and nothing more than a great storm could hardly wake her. Sini could recall dozing in and out. Hearing poor rustling waenara, sometime late in the night, with its chattering young. Something crunching over leaves. Every small thing in the forest had seemed too loud. Sini was relieved when she finally slept a little before dawn.

It was still early, the morning sun light streaming through the trees and sparkling on the dewy colorful mushrooms Sini had found to eat. She stretched and started to jog her way out towards the lake, hopeful that maybe some activity would clear her tired mind. Sini huffed unhappily despite how lively and bright the forest was in the morning this time of year. There was no getting around it; the adahy was particular about her habits.

Iculo woke with the sun and lazily blinked sleep from her eyes. She had slept like a log, to the point where she was still tired because she had slept too much. Groggily standing up, she looked around to see where her twin was. Used to Sini sleeping in a bit, she was suprised to find that she had gone down to the lake. Iculo stretched out and ran to catch up with Sini.

Seeing the familiar blue Adahy, she called out, "Good morning!" She jogged closer, saw how unhappy her sister looked, and winced. "Rough night?"

Sini squinted her eyes, glowering ahead and continuing to the lake shore as her sister jogged up. Great. Sini gave a deep yawn and tossed her blue head feathers in agitation, "I haven't slept."

Feet getting wet in the cool shallow water, Sini leaned down for a drink. Her sister seemed to be in good spirits. Of course she would be. "Are you just getting up?" The female shook the water from her nose and looked out over Lake Ha’Looa. Flashes of silver broke its surface and Sini watched the fish jumping in the early morning.

Iculo smiled sympathicly. She knew Sini was used to sleeping like a log. "Yes, I am. How long have you been awake?" she said before taking a long drink of water herself. Iculo didn't really need to ask- it was easy to tell that her sister had been up for some time- but she did anyway. In her own mind- which didn't usually pay attention to being polite- thought that it would be nice to ask. Sini obiviously wasn't in a good mood, and Iculo didn't particuraly want her mood to get any worse.

"Too long" Sini snorted, "I just said I didn't sleep!" Iculo could at least listen for once.

Really? Why did her sister have to come be so loud and pester her? Sini grumbled to herself as she turned away from Iculo and leaned back down for another long drink of water. She was starting to feel a little more awake. Her sister was not really being any louder nor any more annoying than ever, but Sini's nerves were on edge and every little thing was getting to her. Not that she would apologize. Sini huffed sadly.

The tired sister scrambled up the bank and loped along, nosing around for mushrooms.

"Sorry." Iculo half-heartedly apologized. Her sister was in a bad mood, and that wasn't her fault.

Sometimes Iculo wondered if it would help if they went their seperate ways for a while. Not to long- maybe just a moon cycle or so. Just enough time to learn what life was like without each other. Maybe then they'd get along just a bit better.

She heard, rather than saw, her sister scramble away. Iculo didn't follow, and stayed to look out across the lake at the blue waters.
