Battle of the annoyances!
In the Desert Corner... CACTAUR!

Cactuars are little cacti typically depicted having stiff arms and legs, three black dots on their faces (representing two eyes and an oblong mouth) and three yellow quills at the top of their heads. Cactuars are usually very fast, and are tough to hit. Their HP is also usually very low, but their defenses are high and they often yield large amounts of GP, EXP, etc. Often, they counter most attacks with the ability 1000 Needles (Blow Fish in some versions of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI), which always deals 1000 HP of unblockable damage ignoring defense. Usually, this ability can be learned as Blue Magic. In some games, such as Final Fantasy IX, Cactuars may be underground and will only counter-attack if they are hiding. Some games have a stronger version of this attack called 10,000 Needles. A Cactuar also cannot stand getting wet, as it weakens them.















And in the dark corner with a lantern...TONBERRY!
Tonberries are quite small, usually no taller than three feet. It typically has green skin and a round head with a small snout and round yellow eyes; it walks on two legs and resembles, to some small degree, a bipedal lizard (though without a visible mouth). However, it always wears a hooded cloak, usually plain brown or grey in color, and its dolphin-like tail can be seen peeking out from beneath the hem. A Tonberry always carries two things: a lantern in one hand to light its way through the caves in which it dwells, and a long, sharp knife in the other. In battle, Tonberries slowly walk towards the player's party, and when close use their signature Chef's Knife attack, which either does massive damage or instantly kills a party member, depending on the game. If attacked they counter with Karma or Everyone's Grudge, doing damage to the attacker based on how many enemies they have slain, thus giving them a good chance to instantly kill a party member late in the game. Compounding their offensive strength is their high HP which makes them difficult to kill. Tonberries usually give great rewards upon their defeat though.













So, will the green lizard that laughs at your damage get the kill? Or the Speedy small Cactus being that always hit 1,000 finish first?
How we will judge is on a few things.
The damage they give (not talking one game.)
The damage they can take, if any...
The rewards of one kill.
and Annoyance meter.
One person can either judge one or both. But the poll is a one way street.

I hate the Tonberries more, especially on FFTA2.. They will use stalk on a character, then get close enogh to use Karma which is a 100% guaranteed hit for 999 (i.e. insta-death). I think on one game (I might be making this up though) They did damage based on how much damage you had done to Tonberries throughout the game (if that did happen that can get old quickly, if it didn't happen then I have some seriously messed up dreams!). The Cactaurs (or Qactaur if they were seen outside of the Sanubia Desert in FFX) were annoying with 10,000 needles, but they didn't often hit me with it.

Yeah, Cactaurs are much faster, personally, I prefer faster-paced battles, cause otherwise I get frustrated; so another reason why I find [most] Tonberries the most annoying.

Who more annoying... well... In FFX, Tonberry was a killer with Karma... especially if you are attacking foolishly, but in FFX a superboss called Don Tonberry is one of the most valuable bosses in the world if you come with the right abilities equipped (Overdrive-AP, Triple Overdrive, Triple AP,) (Auto-Phoenix) and Overdrive set for Comrade you could get hundreds of thousands of AP everytime the Don used Karma for 99999 against one of the characters.

As for prizes Cactuar dropped MP stroll and HP stroll armors and MP stroll is very valuable in the beginning and they were easily dealt with by using Items like a Electro Marble

I agree with you 100%. Against Cactuars I usually find them more annoying than troublesome. Tonberry's on the other hand have instilled fear into the average gamer. I've ran away from more Tonberry's in battle out of fear than Cactuars. Cactuars I normally hang around and fight, then get annoyed from their 1,000 needles attack.

I think the cactuar is more annoying. Whenever I try to kill it, it always spins away from me.
