Something inside of me makes me feel suspicious about this site, though it looks alright. Can someone help me?
Here is a link to the site for those who have not seen it:
http://www.fanplusfriend.com
The backdrops on all of the dresses are basically the same, but if you see a photo that is from a different brand or website please let me know!

Scroll down to About Hong Kong brands.

"Fanplusfriend Garden - They offer replicas of brand items for lower prices. Their quality is average [be very accurate when it comes to giving skirt and sleeve lengths] but shipping is murder, so keep that in mind when buying. " is from that page.

also, google some egl reviews on them. I've heard good things from people who purchased from them.

Every experience I've had with fanplus (3, to be exact) was excellent.
Communication's great and prompt with them, and you always get what you ask for. You can also order whatever you're getting in custom sizes. Mine have always come out perfectly :3

Thanks guys, I'm just paranoid about webshops and needed some info.

Their $ prices are in American Dollars, right? Just checking.

No. I hated my experience with F+F and am never going to order for them again. -_-

I ordered what was supposed to be my "dream dress" and got this super long, ugly violet shaded JSK, with THREE(!?) different shades of tacky lace. The fabric choice was cheap, the lace was cheap, the buttons and zipper were cheap... -_- I wore the dress once and then shipped it out over egl_comm_sales to someone who might be able to salvage it.

It was also my first sweet/classic style dress, violet and white lace, that also didn't turn out so well, I think I'll stick to gothic/kuro lolita.

Whoa, really? Do you have any pics of it? I'm sorry, that sucks. I've heard they used to be hit or miss but that they're pretty reliable, and I just ordered the stuff for the outfit I made my firefly necklace for from F+F. I hope it all turns out okay.

On another note, I ordered from Bodyline I think 4 times, a few items were a bit cheaper than I expected *bloomers* but some were better which made up for it *petticoat* and I was able to get off all the cheap lace and replace it pretty easy. Could do nothing about the squeakiness of the black boots though... They did screw up one thing, a dress came in black and pink plaid instead of black and lilac plaid, but I liked it anyway so I got lucky there. I'd heard f+f was better than bodyline as far as hit or miss, and so far I've been able to work pretty well with bodyline's misses.

On another note, don't give up on classic! I think you'd rock it beautifully!

Yes they are. Also, you can order from them on ebay, but I think that's just for whats leftover, you can't choose sizes and whatnot. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.

And they use paypal which makes me feel really safe.

And it's good to be paranoid. Makes you do your research and get ripped off less often. wink

Ok, good, i thought so.
Anyway, I don't want to order from Bodyline because they use Chinese sweatshops to make their clothing. I'm pretty sure F+F doesn't, but if they do that would suck...
Do they?

Define "sweatshops", please, and provide a source for your information? Because if you mean Chinese factories as a whole, a lot of brands, Japanese and otherwise, use Chinese factories to produce their items, particularly when it comes to shoes. This doesn't make them sweatshops by default, and I've never seen anyone report that that's what Bodyline's been doing.

And F+F does do similar, to be honest. They're smaller-scale in terms of production numbers, but they still use cheap labor to make their goods in large numbers for cheap, and then hike up the prices to make a huge profit.

By sweatshops, I mean factories where people-especially children- are basically forced to work at very low pay (I'm not sure if they even pay children). I was told this by a panelist at a Lolita panel, but I probably should've researched it myself before I said it like that.
Well, that just sucks. Unfortunately that's the way most companies work. What you described is not a sweatshop, because it sounds like they don't force people to work for them.
Okay, I just looked it up and could not find a definite answer to the question. However, the fact that their clothes are so cheap does support that theory (that's what I shall call it from now on. Thank you, Spunito, for questioning the legitimacy of that statement). The fact that it started out as a sex shop is also a hugetastic red flag for me, even if isn't now.

So far as I'm aware, Bodyline does not use child-labor, nor do they "force" people to work in the manner you've described. I've never heard this rumor in association with them. The main complaint as far as ethics made against them is that they replicate prints and other brands' designs, nothing relating to their labor practices.

Unfortunately, if you're against the kind of practice entailed above and want to live on the safe side, I'm afraid you'll have to commission only from Western brands or companies. It's the only way to ensure that there's nothing shady going on. Even the major Japanese lolita brands use Chinese and Malaysian factories to produce some of their accessories and shoes.

I'm not against replicas entirely, as long as it is not a carbon copy of an original dress. And though I am vehemently against child labor and real sweatshops, cheap labor factories exist all over the world. Unless you commission something to a company that hand makes their clothing, mass-processed goods are near impossible to avoid (I'm sure you know this, but stating it all together makes me feel better. I'm a bit OCD).

I hear they used to be very unreliable.
That sounds atrocious. xD
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

I'm so glad all of my experiences have been good ones D:

It was maybe 3 years ago. T.T

And warning ita-alert.

It had this HUGE band on ugly yellow colored lace around the middle of the skirt part. But I'd already seam-ripped it off by the time the photo was taken. It also came with detachable BIG princess bell sleeves that got in the way too much.
User Image
It came with WAY too many bows... OH! And half of them were sewn wrong, like quite literally BACKWARDS. Wtf F+F!?
