A lone sac had been there. Tied to the branches, twigs, of a swamp tree looking as precarious as could be but being more solid and stable than even the most rooted of rocks. A lone sac had been there, and now there were two very bright and very new twins. The female of the two, Twirling-Feathers-Dance as she had learnt would be her name, snuffled at the lump of familiar smelling flesh next to her. "Brother," she said in a soft voice. "I am not sure I am ready to open my eyes yet, but I want to see." She nuzzled at him again as if to say 'please do this with me.' She knew not much else would be needed, as surely he would understand with just her touch. ((ooc!note - You'd mentioned them opening their eyes together, and I just thought it was such a darling idea that we should do it before we RP them as a filly and a colt. If you'd rather not, I can change my intro.))

Cold. He had only ever known the warmth of the sac and the side of his twin, and now he'd been dumped out into the cold air. He did not speak -- the frozen silence of his dream was already taking hold. But, though the warmth of their sac was gone, she was still there, and he bumped his nose against her neck, assuring without words. They'd open their eyes together.

Smiling softly, she wiggled herself closer to him. Touching her nose again to his cheek she signaled that she was ready. Blowing out the pent up anticipation, her lids slowly fluttered open to see the world about her.
As it turned out, she was so close to her brother that all she could see was him and she was slightly confused until she pulled back on unsteady limbs. The movement of her bones and body inside her hide, the way her brother's formed mimicked hers. Or had she copied him? It was all so new. So amazing. So. So.
Muted.
This was not the world of her dream where all had been so vibrant she felt like her eyes were drowning. With a squeek, she closed her eyes tight again and leaned right up against the side of her twin.

Cold Sky opened his eyes too, much more slowly. The colors, to him, seemed incredibly bright -- her blue, the brown of the trunks, the green of the leaves, the darkness of the water, all of it seemed so much more vibrant than the world in his dream.
He moved to lean against his sister. At her squeak, he licked her cheek, wordlessly affectionate, and settled to drink in the sight of the world with dark eyes. After a time, his scrutiny turned to his sister. "Everything is so alive," he mused, his first words.

She refused to open her eyes again at first, but slowly she did so again. If only to look at her brother as he examined everything around them. Her eyes following the movement of his, Twirling refused to move from his side. Everything was still as muddy as it been when she'd tried the first time. What was wrong with her?
She could see the color, but it was pale. Not alive like Cold Sky had just described it, but more like it was in limbo. Stuck between what it should be and dying.
"Is it?" She asked it curiously. Not sadly, just confused. "Everything looks sad to me."

"Sad?" He turned to her, dark eyes meeting as he tried to figure out why. "In my dream, I saw white forever, and bare trees reaching for a cloud-covered sky. These trees -- these trees are alive." Alive and green. "What did you see, sister?"

Twirling nodded and listened intently to his dream. Why was his so different from her own? What did that mean?
"It was darkness. Everywhere. Slowly the land awoke, bright trees like these- green and beautiful. Flowers of every color grew and greeted me. The sky was so... Blue. Then slowly a feather fell. It was so yellow it's brightness blinded me. I stood there, and as I watched more feathers fell. So many that all I could see were those yellow feathers. They fell all around me and bound me. I felt like I would drown in them."

"We had opposite dreams," he said slowly, dark brown eyes sweeping the swamp in front of them. Hers was full of life; his had only barrenness.
He started to struggle to his feet. "What name did your dream give you?" he asked, wobbling on unsteady legs and leaning against a root for support.
