Each was a fully stocked hangar bay for the maintenance and launching of the Order's spacecraft. The compact space afforded by the Temple was designed for maximum efficiency, with Jedi starfighters and interceptors lining the inner circumference of the High Council Tower's hangar. To launch the fighters, a retractable landing pad slid into position from a hatch allowing it enough space to land and take off. Once the ship reached orbit it would then dock with its assigned hyperdrive ring to continue its journey.

There came a rumbling from the inside of the small ship that belied all science and belief. The metal of the ship didn't rumble, in fact only seeming to echo with the sound of some enormous engine, if nothing else. But after a moment, it ended, and from one door came the giant feline creature, his four arms ruffled as if they had been washed in the last few minutes. Stepping down from the entrance to the room he had come from, Rhom'Vegra looked at the bird girl who even now looked up at the Heart Tree that grew on his ship. She was odd, this creature with wings, who so resembled a bird that his first instincts were to devour her. But his civilized self, the brain that had evolved over centuries of natural selection, told him that such things would be frowned on here, even as it was on his homeworld. Looking up at the tree, he smirked, a low rumbling coming from his chest. It was the sound of his gothra, the Purr that other felines all possessed. He was content. "We are at the Jedi Temple, Winged Lady."

Stepping over to where the tree's roots began, Rhom'Vegra looked up at the tree, his eyes seeming to fill with a contentment that erased the pent up worry that had been inside of him for the last month. It had been a month since he'd entered the inner rim of the Galaxy, leaving the Deep Core that his homeworld came from. Since then he had met fantastic aliens, creatures of every shape, size, and design that could be imagined, and an infinite number that just couldn't. More than once he'd been approached by men with some sort of uniform robes carrying around metal tubes who asked what he was, but they always left seeming disturbed, muttering about how they could not "read" him. How could they not? Rhom'Gar were really bad at hiding their emotions, but it seemed that, after Rhom'Vegra decided to watch other's reactions, he realized that they were one: easy to read and two: couldn't read him.

Looking at the lady, he nodded his great head towards the door he had exited from, and as he spoke his four arms crossed across his chest. "Your On'ra has been placed in a Repose Chamber until you are ready for him." Once more, his deep voice would send vibrations through the air, so deep was it. He had to stay about ten feet back from the woman because he did not want to intimidate her, something he knew he did all too easily with most races out here. Looking up at the tree, he considered exercising, but knew that they'd arrived and would have to leave momentarily. "There, he will not age anymore, meaning his body will no longer decay until it is removed from the case." Raising one of his lower arms he touched something in midair, and a semi-transparent panel appeared under his hand. With quick movements, he tapped a few selections and it vanished, his arm returning to its original place, crossed.

Cassus reattached his pauldrons when the ship jostled to a landing, it was time to put his game face back on. Cassus popped open a thin panel on his forearm and attached a thin canister to his iv system. It was a bacta canister, by feeding it directly into his system it would help clot his wounds and stop him from becoming a hindrance. This was more because the giant furry individual who had appeared out of thin air and offered them help was just too good at the timing of the event. He wasn't going to immediately condemn him if he was what he seemed, but he wasn't about to trust someone he had just met either.

Cassus was passing his scanners over everything in the ship he could see, this was an amazing vessel. The tree was something that Cassus would have gone without but it was probably sacred or something. The being who owned this vessel was just as interesting, his scanner was still having trouble pacing the species. Whatever he was Cassus sure liked the physical presence a being like that demanded. It was one of those things that could stop fights just as easily as it could end fights.

"Miss Avi-Na'aak, I'll be on your heels most of the time in here, but I'm going to stay quiet. Jedi are peaceful individuals who tend to not like violence, I tend to deal in violence and I have ran into Jedi's before in my line of work. We didn't agree everytime.

A quick bit of info for you on Jedi, ma'am. That individual who attacked us earlier is the exact opposite from these people. Although they are both warriors in some respect, they are also philosophers, teachers, and healers. They are all powerful in a certain respect, but they tend to follow paths of justice and enlightenment. If you wish to know more about the sith just take everything I've said and reverse it. Whenever your ready."

User ImageThe bird like female stared at the trunk of the tree, lost in her own thoughts. The voices and sounds of the hull were far away for the moment. It's not as though she was purposely trying to ignore her comrades, and those that had just recently become as such. It was more a respect thing.

The loss of an Avi, even the grand Vizier, was something you mourned for nearly a month. In the manner of his death, however, it may well have been a year. Murder was something that has yet to occur on her planet. Death is no stranger in her lands, in fact, it is a welcomed visitor who is allowed safe passage to and from Avi from Byouj; or the, "Land of the Dead." Vivid blue coloring splashed over her dress like loosely drawn ribbons cascading down her body. The Avi people were not iron based like that of the rest of the universe, but copper based. So when bleeding, blue as bright as the night sky spilled out over wounds and tears in their flesh. The mortal enemy of all Avi people is salt water, however, Avi was covered entirely by fresh water leaving the people safe from salt buildups.

The Anatomy lesson running course through her mind was not alleviating the sorrow she felt at the loss of her most treasured friend. Though she was required to be the strongest out of all her people, being away from home allowed her the time to grieve she was denied back on Avi. Since her arrival on Coruscant, nothing resembled the life she knew on her planet. No trees. No large bodies of water, that didn’t mean her swift demise, however. Here was a growth most commonly found on her planet, although hers were far larger, with the ability to house an entire family within it. Being at the base of one such being, as the Avi referred them as, made her feel more calm; to find her center once more.

Sherizada looked up at the cat creature with great sorrow in her eyes. The Jedi temple meant nothing to her on a grand scale, however, it brought the promises of Cassus’s doctoring into reality. He was injured and it was because of her that he was. Her eyes cast a quick glance towards him and then back to the feline. As quietly and seemingly effortless, she rose to her haunches and then back onto her feet, dropping her hands to her sides; which had been stained with blue life force. “Thank you.” She iterated, bowing lightly at the hips and casting her eyes at her feet. The sooner she was safely inside, the sooner she could forget about the body resting within this ship. Cassus has spoken to her about the laws against transporting dead bodies throughout the galaxy. There was the possibility of smuggling her friend, but what kind of treatment was that for such a sacred vessel such as his? Sherizada presumably had thought it best to bury him on her homeland, but that was indeed a coward’s way of final peace. She would bury him here, where he had bravely traversed in the name of their people. That is what she would do, without a doubt.

Watching with some kind of curiosity light returned to her eyes as the pupils within them dilated at the quick, seamless motions the cat creature was creating with his hand. Such technology was predominately how the machinery there operated, had the technology leaked, she was not sure, it was good to see others prosper from it as well. “Thank you.” She said once more, but nothing else on the subject, talking about murdered people was like eating bile that one had just unleashed. Sherizada would rather keep it to a minimal if at all possible.

Turning, the Avi looked at Cassus with some level of understanding. Peaceful people were her specialty. Perhaps the Jedi would be the first people with which Sherizada could relate fully, but that depended on their tolerance to aliens, of course. Then she saw the liquid and that which he was doing to himself. “What are you doing?” She asked frantically, nervous about practically everything, she realized and relaxed moments after. “I could, fix that, you know.” Her voice was shrill, but hoped she had not been heard and neared the door.

Sith and Jedi. Black and White. That was very much the foundation of her homeland. Of course, the Sith would NEVER be found on her home planet except for as intruders. She hoped to never meet another Sith in her entire life. “That will be all, thank you.” Sherizada nodded her compliance with her bodyguard, and waited patiently for them on the other side of the ship, having exited just moments before.

For Rhom'Vegra seeing the bird lady in such a state almost made him weep, though it would have been odd, he was sure, for them to witness such an event. The way she was lost in his tree, the great Gal'gor that had been given to him upon the beginning of his journey, he could deduce that on her world, wherever that was, such things were considered sacred. It was the same for his people, the Shaman of the tribes leading them in worship of the few trees that grow on their plains. Yet Rhom'Vegra was never the type to worship anything, and thus didn't share the same respect this tiny woman had for it. The girl was covered in blood, if he could guess at what the blue goop was accurately, and he was about to offer her a few moments to wash up when the other man, the injured one, spoke. Rhom'Vegra turned his slit eyes to him, assessing the effects of the injection he had given himself. It acted like the healing agents of the Um'Gar, though slower than what he would have expected. He was beginning to suspect that much of his planet's technology surpassed others here. But that was not his duty, looking down on others, nor his delight.

At the description of the Jedi and Sith, however, or at least what the man has said of them, sparked interest in Rhom'Vegra, so much so that he unintentionally spoke in the deep, great bass of a voice of his. "They sound like the Um'Gar from my planet." The next minute, though, he reached out his top left hand to tap something in midair, even as the bird girl moved towards the exit. The next instant, something plopped into Rhom'Vegra's hand. Quietly, which was odd for something as big as he was, he stepped over to the armored man and knelt beside him. Even kneeling, however, Rhom'Vegra remained three feet taller than Cassus, and this close the man would easily make out several black tubes and guns on his girdle. With one arm he passed a small clear beaker into Cassus's lap, a needle on one end, before standing tall once again. Without turning his gaze to Cassus, he spoke as quietly as he could, which meant he sounded like a thunderstorm on the horizon instead of an earthquake. "This is a healing agent from my people. Use it if you wish, and it will restore you to pristine condition." The hissing, and the tendency to bite off every word at the end might make the understanding difficult for Cassus, but Rhom'Vegra was too busy ducking out of the entrance to his ship to notice or care.

Exiting the vehicle, Rhom'Vegra stood behind Sherizada, staring into the frightened faces of the guards who had come to investigate the new, alien vehicle in their hangar bay.

Cassus' body was beginning to feel a bit better, with the bacta going to work there was a cooling sensation flowing through his veins. It was an odd feeling and hard to describe, like having a goo pushed through tight seals. Cassus flexed his forearm twice and it started to push up higher. Hearing Sherizada his gaze locked on her, "Just giving myself a little refreshment. It's nothing to worry about at all."

"I'm not quite sure what an Um'gar is, but if they are your size and have the force on their side I'm not gonna go meet one without a high dose iridium bomb at my side." This was more meant as a joke to try and lighten the mood, but it was also a mental note he was making. If any client ever mentioned these Um'gar he was going to immediately triple his rate.

Doba clicked an appropriate sound stating that he had finished scans of the ship that was visible, even the A.I. was impressed with what was found. The data read outs were, for lack of a better words, completely incorrect. They would be if Cassus wasn't looking at the insides of the ship to know that it was completely out of proportion. Something like this would be great in Cassus' line of work. A giant ship that looked small, he could finnaly buy that droid battalion he was looking at and hide it directly in plain sight. The cost of something like this would be great, but it was very tempting.

When the beast came close, Cassus' hand twitched readying his little dart gun. It wasn't deadly but the darts were tipped with a non lethal sedative, hopefully it would put him down if he got aggressive. Unlike what Cassus was used to the beast just handed him something and stood back up. Cassus looked at the vile and back at the beastman, "Thanks."

Cassus dripped a single drop onto the analyzer on his little computer. It was meant to pick up airborne poisons and such but it would most likely work to try and identify any of the basic poisons or toxins. It would take a little time. In the meantime he attached it to one of his little load bearing straps on his belt.

Cassus turned on his heals and hurried to the others, stepping around the walking carpet he saw the startled looks on the patrols face. He smiled to himself at this bit, he kinda liked the reaction the big guy got when he walked into a room. Stepping forward quickly he spoke up, "This is Sherizada Avi-Na'aak, a senator who has recently joined the aliance. We were attacked by a sith, she seeks refuge here until someone can confirm that he is gone." As Cassus spoke he produced a datapad with a recording from his helmet over the events that had transpired.

User ImageBy far the most intricate that she had ever laid eyes upon, the Jedi temple was more beautiful than she could have imagined it would have been. The destruction that had transpired in the last few hours since her arrival to this planet had brought a sense of dread for having left her home and all safety it brought to her heart. But this place! It was astounding! Impressive even, her people may has well have flown all the way out here and designed it themselves. These humanoids were not as sadistic and emotionally driven than she had first anticipated. They had culture, despite being harder to find than a Ougoon in a Naple Tripe.

Sherizada snickered at her own thoughts, knowing that her joke was only going to be funny to her, it was nice to feel happiness for a short time, even if it was to end. Her eyes cast a minute glance towards the guards standing at attention with their mouths hanging open widely. Sherizada hated when they stared but this was acceptable cause it wasn't she that was being gawked at this time. It was nice to not be a freak, not that she wished it upon her feline companion, it was hard not to notice him however. The creature towered her by many heads if anything, the men standing guard had the right to scrutinize the threat the creature posed for as long as they deemed necessary. The female bird knew him for a short time, she knew that he posed no threat to them or anyone else.

In fact if it had not been for the Jedi Temple, the presence of her new companion may have calmed her nerves just enough to feel comfortable in her own skin once more. "There is no need to stare at my companion as such. Yes, he is big and appears to be a cat of some sort, but that does not constitute the right to make him feel like an outcast. What you should be focused on is finding the men responsible for the death of my Spiritual Leader." Sherizada folded her arms, feeling the anger within her veins. She wanted them to stop with their astounded glares. With her arms folded, the female turned away from them as Cassus introduced her. Though she never wanted to seem rude in front of the man who had quite possibly saved her life, she did not want to watch those events ever again. Such a memory should never be kept in one's memory bank.

Though she could not hear what was happening Sherizada was certain that deep inside her head she could hear her own screams coupled with those of her friend. The explosions and the voice of the intruder were like thunder in the back of her mind. With a heavy heart, she forced herself to turn her head and look at the recollection of those events, her arms still crossed one over the other. 'Comfirm that he is gone?' No, that is not right at all. Sherizada, for the first time in her life, wanted someone dead. Perhaps it was her peaceful world that had taught her that violence was absurd and hardly spoken for, but here, violence seemed to be a natural aspect of life. Sherizada hated it more than anything, more than that, 'Sith,' that had changed her life; possibly forever.

"Cassus?" She called lightly, tapping him lightly on the shoulder and motioned to her blue stained clothing which had once belonged to her friend. Her hands and the very tips of her cheeks had blood splatters, making it look like she had been painting with her hands instead of a paint brush.

Cassus didn't flinch at all as he watched the video playback, a point he could notch up to his experience in this line of work. It wasn't that it was commonplace for people to die under his supervision, but it was something he had seen before. The first death Cassus had ever witnessed was caused by his own hands, it hadn't really bothered him like it should have. Of course he had been fighting for his life so the fact that he had survived kind of glossed over the kill.

The guard watched the video in it's entirety, he then rewound the tape to take a look at a couple of the better shots of the assailant. He made a loud whistle when the camera shook violently from Cassus being thrown violently into a wall. Cassus' emotionless visor looked up into the guards face, his whistle died immediately. The man said he would send the video up to the council chamber and walked over to a station and began inputting data. Cassus cast his glance at the other guards when Sherizada started to speak up. It made him smile to see a little spite in her veins, it meant she would be able to get better. "Listen to the little lady. He's big, furry, and currently content. I might be smaller but I'm injured, angry, and armed to the teeth. Who's more dangerous?"

Cassus' laughed quietly when he saw the reaction to his words, first the looks on their faces and then how each tried to mental compare the big cat to the armored man. Each one trying to figure out the hidden factor that could make him as dangerous the giant beast. This was just as much a part of the Mandalorian's great strength as their extensive training, the myth that an angry Mandalorian was the most dangerous thing you could have on your hands. Cassus liked to instigate this rumor wherever he could, it stopped unnecessary altercations.

Cassus heard his name and turned quickly to Sherizada, she was a sorry sight indeed. He didn't quite know what he could do for her, it was unlikely that the furball would have anything in human size. Cassus didn't have anything to help her wash off the blood either, he tried to think up something. "Give me one second Ma'am." Cassus nodded his helmet and strode back over to the guard who was calling info. Cassus spoke quickly and quietly. When the man spoke back he nodded and Cassus strolled back over.

"We can go down to the Halls of Healing Sherizada, they will have a room for us with a private refresher. You'll be able to wash up and clean some of the blood off. Your clothing is another thing. If you want I can go back to the apartment and try to find some of your belongings, hopefully the shrapnel didn't tear everything up. If that happens to be the case I'm sure we can find a shop that carries clothes that will fit. One of the Jedi wants to meet with you since this matter concerns the sith. Once he arrives I can fetch your belongings if you like."

The faces of the guards were easy to read for someone like Rhom'Vegra, and he could see that even with Cassus's words there was a fear in their eyes that made him feel slightly guilty within his heart. Fear was not something Rhom'Gar liked inspiring in others, even when charging into battle wielding their massive weapons. That these men, armed and apparently veterans, feared him for his size and appearance caused Rhom'Vegra's ears to wilt slightly, showing his distress. His tail swished back and forth, almost a lash, another sign of his agitation that should be plain to anyone who'd ever seen a cat before. Yet perhaps they didn't know. Either way, Rhom'Vegra wasn't taking any chances. Placing all four of his arms across his chest, each hand grasping the other's forearm, and bowing slight, his eyes cast down at the feet of the guards. It was an odd stance, but one that was obvious to anyone who's seen a slave before: it was a show of subservience. He was ready to give himself to these men in order to keep the peace.

However, even with this stance, his tail reached up and wrapped around Sherizadda's left forearm, showing his support to her. To Rhom'Vegra, it was obvious that he was showing to them that he would do as they command, but his true allegiance was to Sheri, and no other. This was something Rhom'Gar were often forced to do when dealing with other Garta. It might be odd, but the way he assumed the pose, the way he looked, showed that he had done this many, many times. Suddenly, Rhom'Vegra spoke, his voice deep enough to startle the hell out of the guards, but it was the language in which he spoke that was the most odd. It was none they'd ever heard, a musical language filled with growls, purrs, and words that, while distinguishable enough to realize it was a language, made absolutely no sense. Stopping, Rhom'Vegra kept his eyes on the ground, having asked for passage for himself and this woman safely inside.

User ImageSighing, Sherizada thought about Cassus, or anyone for that matter, going back to that place where a dear friend had spent their last moments of life. Though the danger the room posed just hours ago was now long gone, it still bothered her beyond anything she could have imagined. Fear was inevitable at this point but if it could be avoided, then so be it. Today had proven that the Grand Vizier was right about her needing a body guard, Sherizada immediately remembering the argument that they had had right before the attack. He had meant to keep her safe. He had meant to ensure her happiness, and she had torn him down. Cassus was the last gift he had ever given her, so from here on out, she would listen to him as though only his words mattered in this life.

Something soft and furry took hold of her arm and Sherizada was startled, an inaudible cry escaped her lips, keeping her composure when she realized the only thing in this area that could be that soft and fluffy was the creature standing beside her. How she could have assumed that Sith creature would come back for a second try with all these people surrounding her, was illogical. In a short while of being here, Sherizada was certain her naturally calm and unmoved nerves would return to their previous statuesque state. Even if that meant finding some remote location, sitting as silently as she could muster. Perhaps after this ordeal had finally run its course she could find the rapture in solitude.

Multicolored eyes located what was actually attached to her arm, the cat creature’s long white and black striped tail. Sherizada did not understand what that signified. By the relaxed state he stood, she had to assume only that it was moral support. Not afraid, of course, but it wasn’t the most comfortable position to be in when a group of morons were staring right at you, not even trying to be discreet. With her free hand, Sheri turned to her new friend and patted a patch of fir on his tail that was more white than black. “It’s okay.” She insisted, though she was certain her voice was more shrill than she thought it was, he would have no trouble hearing her distinct accent over the other voices in the room. “We will not have to deal with them soon enough.”

Her attention was back upon Cassus immediately, realizing that she had put into thought what he said but nothing more. She had watched him with some level of interest as Cassus crossed the threshold of the landing pad towards the guards. They were talking about her. Or better yet, what to do with her, not in an insulting manner, she was certain. Maybe not. Maybe nothing was certain but that’s the funny thing about belief. You can believe whatever your heart can cope with the easiest and it wouldn’t really matter. He had already revealed already what plans were possible and cut out his return to her old room. Which might she add, she only had for less than a few hours. Weighing out the possibilities of finding clothing that would allow space for her wings was undoubtedly a failure waiting to happen. If she could find something that was acceptable for a High Priestess to wear without feeling ashamed, or naked for that matter, then it would be a blessing to rejoice over later on. “No. I don’t want anyone to go back there. Everything in that place is defiled. I don’t wish you to go back.” Sherizada played with the folds of her soiled clothes and remembered that the veil covering her hair was still atop her head even after everything that had happened. It too had been torn, stained with blood and dust and though made of a delicate fabric, felt as though it weighed at least a hundred pounds.

The female quickly tore it off of her head and threw it on the ground along with the jacket that wrapped around her dress. It hit the ground with such fury Sherizada could not believe that she had done so even after she watched the fabric float a few feet from her stationary form. She knew not what a refresher was but knew what it meant. Being clean. And that is all that had mattered at this exact elongated moment. “I would like to visit these refreshers. Thank you Cassus.” And though he would most have certainly dejected her manners she did not give him the chance. “No. I mean it. Not just for this. Thank you. Perhaps you are not used to compassion from your clients, but you shall receive it in abundance from me.”

The last note had yet to be contemplated. A JedI wanted to see her? It seemed almost unreal as if her God had summoned her. Though this person was of course, not her God, anyone who claimed this temple their home may as well have been. “Once…HE arrives?” Sherizada asked, a perplexed look clouding the familiar beauty of her face. She was starting to wonder how this world kept its grand population. Where were all the females? Shrugging, she thought they had better things to do than just hang around in a temple hanger and risk the chance of being stared at. A woman on her home planet was always busy working or raising a family. Or off keeping the grand library, which w as a position only a woman could fill. Perhaps it was the same for them. Either way, that did not matter, everyone was just everyone and there need not be specifics. Sherizada was not certain if her mind could comprehend them in her fragile state.

Rubbing her temple, she sighed. Since having removed the garments that had the most stains would hopefully defer people from staring. Even if it had not been an iron based blood type, there was no questioning about it. Blood on any world was very distinct. “When this gentleman arrives, I demand that you seek immediate medical attention, even if that means you must leave my heels. I will be fine from here on out. We can meet back when this conference is over. That was not a question, but a demand.” She sighed, turning towards her feline friend.

“And you. No getting into trouble. Thank you for taking us safely to where we needed to go. I fear this is not going to be good.” She waved her fingers at the guards. “And you two! I demand that you keep your eyes to yourselves and show my friend and bodyguard the respect they deserve. See to it that my bodyguard gets the medical attention he needs and deserves and that they return to me in the manner they left, if not more pristine. Is that understood?” After delegating her demands, Sherizada left her friends behind and headed for the door that would lead her into the temple. With her head held high, feeling a sense of accomplished as she did, she realized she missed one tiny, minute detail. Sinking her head back in towards her neck, she returned to Cassus and whispered.

“This does not change what I said. But where am I suppose to go?”
