Theed was the capital city of the planet Naboo, and it was where the Theed Royal Palace was located.

"Seriously, how the hell does a routine droid maintenance sweep turn into a fricking fire-fight!?"

Blaster fire filled the air, an unusual sight in Theed. The local 'police' were using cover behind building walls and the like as the Raven's Claw zoomed over head. "I'm never gonna get a break, am I?" A female voice came from his comm. "You never were one for boring days, Master." The bottom of the ship opened up slightly, allowing Gerik Kull to drop down, firing two hand blasters, as he hated to call his own creations 'Blaster Pistols'. "I told ya to quit with this 'Master' talk." From above, the field seemed to be split into two sides: the Droid side and the Organic side. The droids, common placed military issue droids, were firing away at everything that moved, inching closer to the Organic line, who were using debris and all other kinds of cover, firing off all kinds of equipment: EMP launchers, blaster rifles, thermal detonators. Anything that they could find.

Gerik landed behind the the source of cover anyone in the droids' line of sight was using, a toppled over tower, that laid horizontal compared to the main street. The 'Man-in-Charge', a white-haired veteran living much longer than he should be, was yelling orders all over the place. "Don't break the line! Use the side buildings to get a higher vantage point!--" "So, this is what happens when I let normal people mess with my droid programming." The female voice grunted a little. "Fine... Aida's programming. But I made you, so I think I deserve a little credit." The vet began to question Gerik. "And just who the hell are you? Dropping out of the sky like some big shot." Gerik grinned. "I'm the guy that's gonna be the reason you leave with your life, old man."

He closed his eyes, sitting, resting his back against the cover. "Aida, patch into the Naboo mainframe. Royal Suite restriction access. Admin status Jedi Council ID GAK-9270-1379. Command prompt 'Droid Program Override: Delta." "Got it." The vet looked at him confused. "What was that gibberish?" Gerik remained still, but answered. "Every organization needs a head, and that head needs a head, and so on. Where every organization that messes with computer tech, programs, anything mechanical or technological meets, I oversee that guy's activities. There isn't a line of code within Alliance-controlled space that I don't know." The female voice 'teh'ed. "Someone's blocking the remote input." Gerik sighed. "Then they have to be receive commands form somewhere. Try to find a communications line sending off massive amounts of data and backtrack it." "No good. All remote regulations are blocked. I'll only be able to shut them down from the Palace's command terminal, and that'll take forever." Gerik sighed, then holstered his blasters. "Then we do this the fun way. Old man, there should be a Vanguard caravan enroute to drop off troops. They'll be here to quell all of this, but they'll have plenty of medical personel to help out the wounded. Get them there." "Wait, wha?"

Too late. Gerik already dove over the debris and began to sprint at the droid line. As one aimed and fired, a lightsaber blade deflected the shot. As a few more did the same, three more blades deflected the shots. A fifth lightsaber, slightly different than the traditional lightsaber blade, came from the hilt in his right hand. Four white-colored lightsabers floating around him, the Whitesaber, the polar-opposite of the Darksaber, was pointed at the line from his hand. "You wanna get dismantled this badly? Fine with me!" Using the force, his sped up his movement speed, the sabers followed suit. Droid parts and explosions ran ranpid through the street.

-----------------------

"Gerik Kull, reporting from Theed. Something glitched the droid systems... donno what, but from the look of it, someone or something tried to remotely attack the Palace. Stupid move, or just trying to get attention... either way, it's dealt with at the moment. Currently reanalyzing the networking to fix any loose ends. Shifts from Command will be visiting on a regulars bases for some time to come. That's all for now. Gerik out." The floating ball of a droid beeped, then began to transmit the message back to the Jedi Council as he sighed and scratched the back of his head. "What's wrong? I though you'd be happy for some action." "I went over the defense protocols and firewalls at least a dozen times to safeguard them from being hacked by anyone that wasn't me or you. Whoever did this knew what they were doing, and are some hot shot at computer skills." He laughed a little. "Seems I'm not as good as I thought I was."

Zach wandered onto the edge of one of the buildings high above the streets below. That jedi. Wow. A good show indeed. That was for sure. Zach laughed for a little bit. It has been a long while since he has seen a jedi fight and this one really hit his interests. "From the looks of it. This was no test of any sort." Zach moves about to the side of his building and jumps down to another building as he speaks, keeping his voice down the whole time. He lands with a slight thud on the second building, his rifle shifting a bit. He takes a couple seconds to re-adjust it before he continues on, moving about just enough to keep the jedi in sight but hopefully out of his.

[Being a trained bounty hunter, he is good at this. But any jedi good at what they do could most likely sense him]

((And being a Jedi Master has its perks too ^_^ ))

Gerik grinned a bit. "Looks like we'll have to completely wipe the protocols and rewire the main networking." He sighed. That would take forever. "Yes, and while you sleep, I get to do all the work." He shrugged. "That's why I made you, to do what I don't have time for." For a moment, he felt a presence, but he ignored it. He had better things to do. "I need full access to Theed's Palace Mainframe." A trooper nodded and scurried away.

[Indeed]

Zach moved about from high atop the buildings until finally he made his way to the ground, still remaining amongst the shadows and out of sight. He was very curious as to what was happening here and wanted to find out, but he would rather stay out of the concious presence of a jedi to do it.

The trooper returned with a CD, which Gerik took and thanked him for. He then pulled out a disk, like a frisby, and tossed it on the ground. A beam of light came from it, and suddenly Gerik was surrounded by dozens of hologram monitors in the form of computer screens and charts. (Think Tony Stark grade monitors). "Best get to work if I'ma be home in time to see Yuu." He began to use his hand to direct screens all over the place while using his free hand to type and code. "Yuu, Master? I thought you ended that when you joined the Council?" Gerik sighed. "I'm on the Council because of my skills and have the support of the common people. I could care less about their traditions and outlooks. Everyone knows it too. Love is... in our make-up. Without it, we're just like drones sent to labor day in and day out... speaking of, bring up program sixteen. Let's go with track... twenty-two." One of the windows disappeared, and a few seconds later, music began to come from the disk. (X) A couple of heads began to bob and grins began to grow. "See, now this is what I call music. Food for the soul." His movements and hand motions began to follow the tempo and beat.

Zach watched the jedi with a slightly confused look. From everything he had heard before, this is definitely not what he expected to see. He leaned a little bit to the side to get a better hear of what was going on but the music was too much. So he just focused himself and drowned out the sounds from the music. With this, he could barely make out anything that was said.

Gerik's arms suddenly crossed as he leaned in to get a clearer view of one of the floating windows. The music finally ended. "Aida, Naboo Mainframe, Droid Network, Protection Tact Access, Division Eight, Subsection Five." "Alright." Aida finally made her self visible through the disk, floating next to Gerik as a window blew up into a giant sized window and code after code began to be cycled through. "What are you thinking?" Gerik rose his hand to his chin. "I'm starting to think this was an inside job... there! Stop cycle." The monitors froze. "The droids here work on a slightly different system than most. Because of the Queen, more firewalls are added, and blocks of code are shortened to be... easier to handle for the Average Joe-Blow. Even so, thousands of encryption protocols were installed to protect the systems from being hacked by outside sources, exactly what happened today. Only a few key people have a copy of the code key required to bypass those firewalls. Without it, it would take weeks to even break through the first lining. I think someone on the inside snagged a code key." Troops began to signal one another and began to fan out, slowly moving towards the Palace. "No ships came in before I touched down, and the locals say no one's left since. Their still here. Maybe not as close as they had to be originally, but they're still here." He turned to one of the captains from the Rescue Teams. "I want a planet-wide lock down. This will be taken as an assassination attempt on the Royal Family; a terrorist threat. Anyone tries to dock or leave, they go through Aida." The captain nodded, as did Aida. "I'm on it."

Zach notices the troops fanning out and in an attempt to not get in trouble, he stands up from behind the rock and places his rifle on top of it before taking several steps back. "Sorry. Heard you going on a hunt for someone. Thought I'd be better off showing myself now than getting caught and being wrongly accused of anything." Zach kept his hands up the whole time, hoping that they wouldn't think he was a spy.

A couple of rifles pointed at Zach as Gerik turned to see him. "Leave him be. Now, mind explaining why you were lurking around instead of just doing this in the first place?" The rifles lowered as Gerik walked up to the man. The height difference was big.

"Hmm. I guess you could say it is a force of habit. A mercenary such as myself probably wouldn't be very welcome in such a nice place as the capital." Zach laughs a bit, raising his metal arm to scratch his head. He looks at his rifle but decides to leave it there until told he can retrieve it. He isnt going to chance getting in trouble now that the Jedi says he is okay.

Gerik shrugged. "You're free to go. But..." As Gerik turned to follow after the troops, he changed his tone, making sure the man was able to hear the difference. "Try anything, acting against the people of Naboo or myself, and I won't hesitate to use force against you." With that, he continued to pursuit.

Zach lets out a slight sigh of relief and then something clicks in his mind. "Hey. If you are looking for someone, maybe I can be of services. Im a somewhat known mercenary around these parts so maybe I can assist you in your endeavor?" Any possible job Zach was up for and this sounded ripe with possibility.

Gerik thought for a moment, then nodded. "I don't need the help, but the Republic does. Your skills... they could be useful. They're looking for every gun and body they can find. Something big's fixing to happen, and we could use you." He continued to grin. A beep came from his person. "Sir, we found him, we thing." Gerik nodded. "I know, I can sense her now." He hung up and unholstered his blasters. "If you're interested in making some money, you might wanna see about going to Coruscant" With that, he sped off. He didn't want the old man getting in the cross of two Force users fighting.

Zach let out a good long laugh. "Coruscant eh? Hmm." With that, Zach went ahead and decided that maybe that was a good idea. He turned and looked around a bit before heading off towards the hangar bay where his father's ship sat in wait. "She's most likely covered in dust by now." Zach says with another good laugh.
