Hello one and all and welcome to my little corner of this guild! I thought I'd give making a journal a shot. Now I know I haven't posted a goal or anything yet but that's because I'm going to do that around May 1.
Lessee, what can I tell you? I'm JesiMarie, but you can call me Jesi. No, my real name isn't Jessica lol, it's Jasmine. JesiMarie is my pen name combining my family nick name (Jesi) and my middle name (Marie). I'm 21 and like any good author, I might just end up an alcoholic, haha. I don't really drink that much, just enough.
I've been writing since kindergarten when I dictated a story to my mom about a cat who was friends with everyone but the dog. I took a shine to writing and attempted writing a lot after that. I never really got serious about it though until 9th grade. I tried writing novels and failed, I'd only get just so far and then stop.
Around that time (8th grade or so) I took to rping. That helped me a lot with my writing and making it what it is today. I had someone tell me a few years ago that my writing sucked and while I knew it didn't, I made it better. Now I love it all the more.
As of now, I have two manuscripts done (though they need editing), I have one underway (that'll be done in May *fingers crossed*) and one in planning mode (NaNo this year, maybe).
Oh! I am a romance writer! I almost hate it but I love it too. I write a lot of m/m romance, just be warned.
When I grow up (read: get a job and get to college) I'm going to hopefully major in the following: professional writing, English, and creative writing. I'd also like to get my teaching credentials. I want to either teach creative writing at the college level or be an editor, or both.
My big dreams as a writer: to have a book on the banned list, to have a book on the assigned reading list for schools, and to be Stephenie Meyer's editor (just to tell her it all sucks and make it better -sorry SM fans).
I think that should be enough about me... God I feel like I'm bringing... I'm not! I swear!
