Adira had received notification from the Chamberlyn family that she'd won the silent auctions she'd entered. So a beautiful tennis bracelet sparkled on her wrist and she held two day passes to the Reppep Salon and Spa, of which she was sitting outside of at the moment. It sounded pleasant enough, and the girl had heard good things about the establishment in general; it was one of the best in Destiny City. The outside, certainly, was immaculate.
She wondered initially who to go with, before remembering that she'd offered it to Fallon, Jada's friend. Fallon had seemed incredibly nice, keeping up a conversation during the ball. Adira would keep her promise. She'd sent a polite inquiry to Jada, asking to pass on the invite along with her contact information. The spa package was for use at any point in a certain time period, so Adira had scheduled the appointment for 12pm on that Saturday, including this information in the little letter she'd sent Fallon.
Adira hoped that the other girl would show up soon; she wasn't sure she wanted to wait on a bench for hours because her guest hadn't arrived. Then again, she didn't want to enter quite yet, considering it was still before the appointment and she didn't want to seem rude. Adira checked her phone for any new messages and sighed at the blank screen.

Things had been... confusing lately. Beyond confusing. Her parents were getting a divorce, her mother was moving to Destiny City, and -- oh yeah -- her body now housed the soul and memories of Sailor Ares, a senshi from a different world all together. Even with organizing skills up to the professional level that Fallon possessed, some things slipped through the cracks.
Well, one thing.
The spa date with Adira had been written down in her day planner, then copied into her record of social gatherings, then coordinated with an appropriate outfit. What Fallon had failed to do was confirm with Adira that she was in fact attending. It was a shame that Fallon did not remember this until she was in a taxi cab on her way to Reppep Salon and Spa on the designated day.
Bursting from the cab in a simple yellow sundress and brown purse, Fallon closed the distance between her and Adira in long, determined strides. "I am so sorry, Adira," she said, touching at her throat. "I just realized I never confirmed with you that I would be attending. That is grossly inappropriate me, especially in the face of such generosity on your part. I'm so embarrassed, really." Adira had no idea. Fallon was an elephant; she never forgot. Except now, except this.
The cinnamon-haired teen hoped this was not some side effect of her new blended personality. "I'm sorry," she said again, smiling plaintively. This was certainly not the kind of impression she wanted to make, especially to Adira.

The arrival of Fallon had been a relief for her. She had been afraid to enter without the other girl, still hoping she would show up. Adira flashed a smile at her new friend. "Its okay, really." She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm just glad you're here!" She stood from the bench she had been sitting on, smoothing out her own dress. It was a simple pale blue dress, accented with a few bits of black lace here and there. "Shall we?" She moved towards the french double doors and opened one of them smoothly, waiting for Fallon to go inside first. Once inside, Adira had to admit she was impressed. A chandelier hung over the information desk, and two grand staircases flanked it on each side. The walls were inlaid tile that looked a bit like marble. Her modest heels clicked against them as she walked. Fallon probably noticed that Adira was a bit shorter than she had been at the ball, considering her heels only added 2" to her small height. She presented the tickets at the counter, and the woman graciously smiled and went over the different options for the day. Manicure and Pedicure were included of course, as well as lunch in house. The other options included different kinds of wraps, massages, mud baths, and facials. Adira looked over to her guest. "Anything in particular that you'd like to do?"

Adira received her politely, but it didn't take the edge off of Fallon's anxiety. It was the same polite reception she would give an irresponsible friend even as she raged inside. Was Adira raging? It was hard to tell.
Leading the way into the spa, Fallon tried to forget about her unease. The scent of wafting lavender helped. So did the attendants in their immaculate black smocks and identical sleek ponytails. Nothing was out of place -- tres chic! Fallon slipped up beside Adira, eyes flashing over the offered items. A day at the spa was almost as nice as a day organizing her room. Almost.
"A massage sounds wonderful -- do they do hot stones?" Her eyes flashed to the attendant and then back to Adira. "A facial too, ooh..." She smiled, clearly waiting for a sign that Adira might want one too. "I'd vote against the wraps. They're more the kind of thing you would do alone, not socially, don't you think? Mud bath could be interesting, I've never done it... Hm. Honestly, they all sound good. You decide, it's your spa package." Fallon smiled wider, clearly trying to make up for her previous social slip.

The attendant nodded at Fallon's inquiry politely before waiting for an answer. The package allowed to pick three separate treatments other than the mani/pedi. After a moment longer of picking through the list, Adira had finally decided what had sounded best. Looking up, she locked eyes with the receptionist. "We'll do a European facial, mud bath, and the hot stone massage, please." She was glad that Fallon had chosen those things, since they were basically what she had wanted to do as well. The receptionist smiled politely and motioned for another attendant to show them the way. They took the stairs up to the left, and were led to a quaint little room. It was decorated in a minimalistic oriental style, with a paper folding screen splitting up the room part way. On each side there was an identical layout. A place for clothes and belongings, was against the wall. Laid out on a table was a huge fluffy white robe and similar slippers underneath. The attendant spoke up at this point. "Please, disrobe and wear the robes provided for you. It will make our procedures transition much more smoothly. When you are finished, please just come outside, and I'll escort you to your facial." He gave a clipped bow and headed out of the room. Adira smiled at Fallon before taking the far end of the room to change in. She hoped that Fallon wouldn't be uncomfortable with getting undressed around someone she didn't know. It didn't take long for Adira to shimmy out of her dress and undergarments. She slipped the fluffy robe on and tied it tight around her, knotting the sash in a little bow. The slippers were soon to follow. She kept a hairband on her wrist in case the technician needed it bound up. "Are you decent?"

Fallon trailed behind Adira and the attendant, peeking into each room as they passed. It had been four months since she had been to a spa. The last time, it was because her mother was in town after the organ ring incident. It was one of the things she thought would cheer up her confused and scarred daughter. A lot of time had passed since then, a lot of changes. It was difficult to process at times.
Slipping into the room, Fallon placed her purse in the appropriate bin. She took to the other side of the room, stripping out of her dress and heels and donning the plush robe. "I love these robes," she said. "I'm better than decent." Fallon needed this spa day more than Adira might realize. Her time as Ares was a beast of a color she'd never seen before, and it was taking a lot out of her.
"Have you ever been here before? I've only ever been to Salon Petit, and I have to say this is nicer." It was small talk. That is what you did with people you were getting to know. "I never knew Jada came here, how nice." Jada, a familiar topic. It could be the bridge to ease any awkward pauses.

The last spa Adira had been to was one of the better ones in England. It had been absolutely lovely, and the girl hoped her experience in this one would be just as good. If it was, she was certain to become a regular. The black haired girl herself was also enjoying her robes. It was like taking the best of a thick pile luxury carpet and rolling around on it constantly. She made a mental note to ask at the front desk if they were available for purchase. Hearing Fallon respond, she politely padded over, crossing the paper screen and flashing her a smile. "To be honest, I've not spent much time in Destiny City itself. During my time in England I visited a few there, and I've only been to a few outlying day spas here." She shrugged, moving to open the door. "Though, if Jada knows about more fabulous things like this, I might have to pick her brain for places to go." The attendant was waiting outside for them, as promised. He looked relieved at the short amount of time it had taken them. "How do you know Jada?" She liked Fallon's choice of common topic, and was glad to see that her guest had conversational skills; it made things like this exponentially easier.

The attendant led them silently down the hallway. "Jada and I ride at the same stables. Horses. We met there before we realized that we both attended Crystal Academy too. I joined the Crystal Equestrians, and Jada has been helping me get better so I can join the A Team of riders." The hallway bent and so did the girls. They passed identical closed doors bearing numbers written in a fine cursive script. Tropical flowers and shoots of bamboo were arranged in clear plastic vases on sleek black tables. "Do you ride?"
Up ahead, the attendant stopped, pushing open a door with the number 15 hanging on it. "Miss Perses, this room is for you. Miss Novette-Naim, you will be in room 16 beside it." The attendant waited dutifully for the two girls to enter their respective rooms and then pulled the doors shut behind them.
Facials were done in separate rooms so that both girls could design their own serene climate. Fallon ducked into her own with a soft, "See you on the other side." Inside her room, she picked scents that leaned toward watery cleanliness with a touch of warm almond. Her skin was stripped and clean and moisturized. Her T-zone got special attention, a speckling of extra exfoliant laid on top. After the treatment, a warm cloth was laid over her eyes and a mister sprayed warm water over her. Fallon fell asleep and was awoken fifteen minutes later by the gentle stirring of her facialist's hands.
In the dim light, Fallon was led out a back door and into a waiting room. It was a sauna that smelled faintly of jasmine. Fallon took a seat on one of the benches lining the walls and waited for Adira to join her. Even with all the chaos in her life right now, Fallon felt soothed by the pampering. Perhaps things weren't so wrong?

She listened politely as the other girl talked, nothing much else but the faint sound of music and the shuffling of their fuzzy slippers. "I've ridden before, enough to know how to stay on." She flashed the girl a sheepish smile. "No where near show abilities though. Simply leisure riding I guess." Leisure riding was certainly fun; finding a path somewhere and trotting along. She waved to her cinnamon haired companion before slipping into her own room. She chose a mix of cedar and orchids, loving the soft musky smell of the room. Her own facial was very similar to Fallon's, though more attention was paid to the application of things than it was to any specific procedure. The attendant payed special attention to the motions her fingers were making, sweeping away tension in her muscles. Adira had to hold back a wince a few times when the pads of her fingers would push against the healing book bruises. She didn't arrive long after Fallon, stepping into the jasmine scented room with a content sigh. "There's nothing quite like a spa day." She sat down on the bench across from Fallon, watching as an attendant poured some water on the coals in the corner. It let out a pleasing hiss and a cloud of heat and smoke. "How was your facial?" The dark haired girl leaned forward on the bench, running her fingers through her hair before beginning to french braid it back. The room would be hotter soon, and she didn't want to have to deal with it sticking to her skin.

The steam was a misty cloud hanging like a hazy sheet across the room. It reminded Fallon of the air after her attack when the smoke lost its velocity and began to dissipate upwards like a lifting fog. It was an odd thing to look at her hands now and imagine the power that lurked beneath her dark skin. It was terrifying to be Ares sometimes, but thankfully, she also... was Ares. And Ares really wasn't scared at all.
When Adira came into the room, Fallon cracked open one magenta eye. The cascade of dark hair was captivating in a way that surprised Fallon. She usually went for paler hair on girls. Was this another symptom of her unusual ailment? "You look refreshed," she said, smile whimsical. Fallon was more relaxed in that steam room than she had been in a long time, and it showed in the slumping of her shoulders.
"The facial was wonderful, very wonderful. I actually fell asleep. I never do that." She laughed. "Well, I sleep. But I usually don't like to unless I'm alone."
Fallon lifted her arms above her head, stretching her back out. She curled the robe tighter around you. "So tell me more about yourself. I can't believe I hadn't met you before Jada's party, especially since you know her so well." Adira was interesting to Fallon, and in the hazy steam room, she didn't mind saying so.

"Refreshed indeed, my facial was fantastic." Conversely, facials had always woken Adira up. It may have had something to do with the she got them quite often, but something about spa days in general made her feel more motivated. She laughed politely along with Fallon, inhaling the pleasant scents at the same time. Steam rooms really were fantastic. She adjusted her own robe before laying her legs and feet up on the bench with her and leaning against the wall. "I'm not surprised we haven't met, to be honest. Recently I spent a few months in England for their social season." The girl closed her silver blue eyes, relaxing. "Before that it was private tutors and travel. I didn't get out much. Lots of fancy important events, but not a lot of time to make friends unfortunately" But now that she was out and on her own, Adira was going to take advantage of it. She was determined to integrate her way into Destiny City the same way she had integrated herself into all of those other cultures. "What about yourself? I'd like to hear more about you as well." She let out a small chuckle, relaxing into the wall of the steam room. It wouldn't be long before the attendant came to fetch them for their massages, and then the day would end with a mudbath. A spa day was just what the doctor had ordered. Adira would certainly be frequenting this salon in the future.

Fallon considered herself a up-to-date and socially-conscious girl, but even she could not understand traveling to England just for the "social season." Whatever that meant. Was it like fashion week? Was it just most intense at a certain time? She smiled pleasantly through her minor confusion, tugging at the edge of her robe.
"Sounds interesting," she mused. "More interesting than my story."
For all of her customs and preoccupations, Fallon took pride in her boring life. At least -- she had. That was before the organ ring, her attack in the alley, her parents' divorce, and her new found dual identity. Now she was interesting and had to adjust to that.
"I cook mostly. I love cooking. I don't get to do it like I used to back in France. That's where I lived most of my life, even though I was born here in Destiny City. My whole life has come full circle." She folded her hands in her lap. "I miss France a lot. It's so different over there, but you know that. You've been everywhere." Fallon was a little jealous, but she wasn't one who traveled well. She liked her schedules, she liked knowing her days, she liked familiarity. Travel seemed stressful.
"Cooking, France -- that's all I am? Sounds like it." Fallon laughed, but she didn't find it funny. What was her life about, other than being OCD and obsessed with France and food?

"Not quite everywhere." Adira smiled. According to most people she met, she'd been 'everywhere'. And for the most part, it was true. She'd been on most of the continents for at least some amount of time, and her family had holdings or estates in at least 8 different countries. "You certainly seem to be much more than cooking and France. And cooking, for certain, is something to be praised in itself." She breathed in the heavy air of the steam room. "I've always admired people that can cook well, its something that escapes me personally. Whats your favorite thing to cook?" She was truly interested. There was little Adira liked more than a well cooked meal, and as such she tended to eat out a lot. And besides, Fallon seemed much more interesting than just that. Her eyes snapped open when the door was rapped on. Not anything too demanding, just a warning knock. It clicked open, bringing in a cold draft. "Ladies, your massage room has been prepared for you." The attendant left the door open, waiting for the two girls to exit and follow him. The massage room that they had been assigned wasn't too far along the corridor. The room was just as tastefully decorated as the facial rooms, two massage tables separated by a Japanese style screen. There were two identical looking masseuses, close enough that they could be twins. They greeted the two girls in tandem, asking them to pick whichever bed they liked. Adira held out a hand, gesturing for Fallon to pick one. "Guests first, of course." She smiled.

Fallon moved toward the masseuse on the left. She was the closest and the most convenient. Once she had slipped on to the table, the masseuse held up the sheet so that she could take the robe off without revealing herself. Her face laid neatly into the circular rest in front of her, arms splayed at either side.
The woman had a soothing voice. She asked Fallon if there were any areas she would like the treatment to focus on. Fallon just asked for some stress relief, and with that, the woman disappeared to her side, kneading at tense shoulder blades and arms.
After the tinkling Asian instrumental music had nearly lulled her to sleep, Fallon said, "I nearly feel asleep. I can't remember the last time I had a good massage." Her words were a predictor, and within moments, Fallon had passed out in the chair, her heavy breathing the only signal to Adira that she was asleep.

Adira giggled a bit at Fallon's comments. "It is relaxing." She giggled even more when the other girl went silent again, other than even steady breathing. It seemed to her that Miss Fallon had indeed fallen asleep anyways. She smiled and went back to enjoying her own massage. It was a little uncomfortable at times, when strong hands would run over healing bruises. But overall it was worth it. The massages finished just as easily as they had begun, leaving the two girls relaxed and refreshed, a perfect way to go into having a mud bath. After lightly waking Fallon, the pair moved down the hall to yet another part of the spa, passing their original rooms. The mud bath enclosure was tastefully decorated a bit like a roman bath, deviating from the Asian influences seen elsewhere, but it still seemed to fit. The bath itself was excellent, suspended floating in cleansing clay and mud, which thankfully smelled rather pretty and not unclean at all. The pair continued talking, the privacy screen between them removed once both were fully submerged and covered by mud and the deep edges of the tubs themselves. All in all, after showering off, the two came out of the spa cleaned and refreshed; loose muscles, clean pores, moisturized skin. The two had talked quite a bit, and in Adira's opinion, had started quite a friendship.
