Walking carefully over the ground, Nquma made her way towards some trees, going no faster than a snail. One her back was Isidomu, who was nice and curled up after a long day of goofing around. She didn't mind that he was tired and needed to sleep, but he could have asked before jumping on top of her and calling it a day.
Sighing softly, she made her way slowly to the shade, turning herself around and carefully settling down for a bit of a rest herself. It was difficult to be running after a baby. Who knew baby Ibex had so much energy?
No wonder they were hard to catch once they grew up.
Sighing softly, she knew it would be alright to sleep. There was her mortal form there to protect her from any confused looks. If she didn't count looks from having the delicious animal on her back. Resting her head on her paws, she worried about what the day would bring.
It made the actual sleeping part a tad difficult.

Fleance had left his waterbuck nearby with his three cubs to stretch his legs and give himself a brief reprieve. They were beginning to teethe, and he along with his familiar were the go-to chew toys of the three little terrors. Of course, this would mean Yoshiteru would demand some time off of his babysitting duties, probably to let his scratches- and his pride- heal. They would be fine enough once they went to sleep, but in the back of his mind Fleance thought to himself that he should go hunting for them soon. Though he didn't need to eat himself, the three of them ate plenty as they grew, so did their appetites.
And so his wanderings were a half-hunt, really anything to occupy his mind and his attention even as much as he loved his children. The land was dotted with dappled shade, and Fleance figured there might be prey trying to evade the heat of the midday, so he walked closer to one. Not slinking, but more of a curious stride and an excuse to keep him moving. And if it was unoccupied, then he himself could use it for a quick nap before getting back to business. He used his mortal disguise as per usual. He was much too paranoid to wander around as the HIGH AND MIGHTY GOD OF ASHES. Because after all, he wasn't that high or mighty, and he didn't want to attract any attention. The ashen pawprints would be curious to anyone looking, or if he sneezed the air would be sprayed with ashes, but Fleance was hoping that wouldn't happen if he ran into anyone. He really didn't like explaining or excusing himself.

Hearing someone approach, the female raised her head, frowning as she instantly found herself worrying about what was to come. If it was some kind of predator, he might want to snack on the helpless animal on her back. Then again, they would have to get through her to do it, and she wasn’t about to be nice about something like that. Hell, she would even let her illusion fade if need be. Let them run off in terror at the sight of a Goddess than try anything against the only creature she’d ever thought of as a real friend.
Even if he was a stupid, annoying little child.
She relaxed, however, when she finally caught a glimpse of the animal that had come into the area. It was a lion, true, but it seemed a good deal younger than her. Probably nothing to be worried about, unless he wanted to randomly try his luck against an adult.
Somehow, she wasn’t too worried. Nonetheless, she kept on edge, tilting her head to one side as her brows furrowed together in a distrusting scowl. “Who are you?” She demanded, as though she had some kind of claim on the area even though she was as much a wandering rogue as this guy might have been. For all she knew, this was actually part of some pride and he really was the king.
Just a young one.

Fleance was spotted before he realized there was anyone actually nearby. Some hunter he was. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked around for the source until he saw a blue and white lioness... with a grazer on her back? He found it quite curious, though the thing was quite cute. He stared at it with great interest, but remembering it was perched upon a lioness' back and his look could be mistaken for that of hunger, he decided it'd be better to answer her question.
"I-uh. I'm Fleance. Your friend there is cute. I've got one too. Well, sort of." He tried to establish common ground, especially so she wouldn't take him as a threat to her little companion... Unless it was her next meal. The adolescent grinned sheepishly. "He's a lot bigger."
He wondered if it might be rude to ask where she found her friend, as after all, he was on the hunt...

“I’m lucky he’s not much bigger,” she replied softly, peering back over her shoulder, though she couldn’t quite make it far enough to see him on her back, “if he were, he would be very difficult to move around on my back..” because she knew he would keep on his back even once he got older. He didn’t seem like the type who would take things like size into consideration when he wanted to relax.
He didn’t seem like the kind to take anything into consideration.
Watching the male, she frowned, still not sure if she could trust the fellow. He seemed okay.. but lions had tried to trick her in the past. Lions who ended up being very irritating as far as she was concerned. Scary, too. If this guy just wanted to eat Isidomu, she was going to have to fight her first. She wouldn’t let him touch her.
“My name is Nquma…” she said after a moment, though he didn’t ask who she was. It seemed only fair to tell him her name, since he had mentioned his when she asked. That was nice.

"Nquma? It's nice to meet you." He smiled shyly. "Is this your territory?" He tried to look as though he couldn't really be phased, but if this was Nquma's land- or worse yet, that of her pride- he'd make sure to say a polite goodbye and a hasty retreat. He was so inclined to avoid conflict, it sometimes led him to avoid interaction at all.
He shifted on his feet, spreading around ashy footprints as he did. Something seemed different about his company. No, not because she had a grazer perched atop her back, and not the kind of "She's different" that would make him want to spend the rest of his life with her, but the kind of different he couldn't put a paw on. It wasn't a bad kind, just... Hm. He shrugged off the thought and dismissed it entirely. Maybe it had been too long since he interacted with mortals and he just felt funny around all of them. Whatever the reason, he ignored it.
