This was probably not the direction he wanted to be going. He could not catch his son's scent anywhere in the lands he currently roamed. This place, while nice, was not the kind of land he knew his Jeraha would settle in. There were too many... others. Too many scents that did not belong to lions.

They were disgusting.

Grunting to himself, he continued to move along the edge of what he knew to be some other animal's territory. Not that it was of particular interest to him- he didn't care whose home he was invading in his search for his son. Anyone who got in his way was nothing more than another bug that needed to be squashed.

Lion or whatever else tainted this disgusting place. As he moved through the grasses, he kept his eyes sharp, just in case the mixed scents were hiding the familiar odor of his son. Maybe Jeraha wasn't as stupid as he thought, and was using these others to help him out.

It was worth his time to look. If nothing else, he could look for some animals to test his strength out on.

Hekima had picked up the scent of the older lion as soon as he entered Mwako'bi'giza land. The winds were in his favor and washed Angusho's presence into the pride, striking the nose of whoever was around; Hekima just so happened to have gotten there first.

He made his way there quickly, his thick muscled body pounding paws against the dirt heavily. When he got there he stopped a good 100 yards from the male, surveying him, and keeping himself far enough from the male so that he would have time to react mentally if something were to happen.

"Halt where you stand!" Hekima roared, "You've crossed into Mwako'bi'giza lands. States your reasons for being here or go."

It was obvious Hekima was a mixture of leopard and lion. He wasn't as thin muscled in the legs as lions tended to be, he was much stockier, much heavier, much more powerful than a normal lion. Which was probably why he had decided to take the position of a simple Shujaa. Warriors needed these qualities.

Angusho came to a stop, looking over the animal that had confronted him. This thing was daring to attempt a threatening stance in front of him? He barely looked like a lion. How was he thinking that he had any right to talking to a lion, much less trying to show some kind of rank over him? It was disgusting.

Those bright colors didn’t help improve his opinion of the other.

“Don’t speak to me in that tone, half-breed,” barked Angusho in return, “a failed product like you has no right to hold your head up high. You should never have been allowed to grow up.” He continued to move forward, as though he had every intention of walking right by the animal. For him, this creature posed no real threat. Sure he looked big and bulky, but Angusho rarely found any animal something to worry about, no matter their size or breed.

He felt a bit invincible, really. Stopping again, closer to the leopon now than the other probably wanted to be, he grinned. “I will pass through these lands as I please. If you have some kind of a problem with that, you’ll have to fight me right here and now. I have no intention of letting a reject like you stop me from my search.”

Hekima's eyes grew thing at the old lion's words. Sure, he knew the world wasn't exactly kind to hybrids, he knew this many times first hands, but for someone to dare even open their mouth about his lineage, and on his mother's lands? Well, that was unacceptable. It was clear this intruder needed to go, and go quickly.

As Angusho moved forward, Hekima held his ground. This lion would not pass by him, and if he attempted to, he would make such a ruckus the whole pride would hear it, making this male's attempt to move through their lands nearly impossible. He may be able to take him on, but I highly doubt he could take on an army.

"You'll do no such thing," He spat, moving himself between Angusho and the pridal lands, "We don't allow demons on our lands. No matter how old and feeble they are."

The fighting words had begun.

“Tch!” grunted the large male, claws gripping the dirt as the itch for battle tickled up his spine, “I don’t know where you get off calling me a demon, but I suppose that is a strikingly accurate assessment of my personality.” He watched the other, a grin spreading over his aged face as he knew the challenge had officially begun.

They were going to fight, for sure, it was just a matter of when and who would be the first to launch an attack.

Personally, he rather liked getting the first hit in. It set the tone for the rest of the battle. “As far as being old and feeble- I’ll happily put my strength into perspective for you.” Even as he finished the sentence, he launched himself forward, claws ripping the dirt apart beneath his feet as he raised a paw and slashed at the other animal’s side.

This was why he fought- the way it made him feel completely alive. Not old. Not alone, but absolutely alive.

A demon he wasn’t, but he was certainly a monster.
