Soo I've been trianing on Diamond for awhile like a couple years and i have a ton of trianed pokemon on it. I have like 974 hours on diamond. I have platnium and well i played that for like a month beat the E4 and stopped playing that. I've gotten bored with training in diamond and lately i've been thinking if i should trade the important pokemon from diamond over to platnium for a change of scenery. I don't know. hmmmm any thoughts on what I should do?

I personally still have most of my stuff on Diamond, despite owning Platinum and SoulSilver, mainly because I don't like the idea of losing the additional 10% accuracy on Hypnosis in Wi-Fi Battles that comes with D/P, that just isn't there in Pl/HG/SS.

I would, I like having all my stuff on the newer iteration. It took a while to get everything over though.

Woah! Why did that happen?! I don't really use hypnosis, but still. That would be aggravating.

They probably did it to make things more fair or something like that. I don't use auxiliary moves often, though, so I wouldn't really know...

The Question is, what kind of training ahve you done? EV training? Breed for the right IVs and Egg Moves? Or just picked out pokemon with the right natures and just level trained them till they had the moves you wanted?
The pokemon games are vast with tons of techniques to use. Why not train something you haven't yet? Like a Kangaskhan with Fake Out and Hammer Arm. With Kangaskhan's ability, Fake out even works on Ghost Pokemon, and Hammer Arm is Super Effective against Spiritomb. Food for thought. cool

I train form the egg up. I don't do the whole random pokemon with right natures. I've been doing that lately I'm starting to get a good variety. I put alot of thought in the pokemon i train, and I guess there is a "bond" or whatever. For some reason i'm torn. :/

EVs are easy. Can get a pokemon trained a day, and that's with pacing yourself. Just set it up so you get x4 evs and make sure to keep talies. I know it gets boring fighting the same thing over and over, but if it makes you feel better you can combo EV training and chaining for a Shiny all in the same skem. That way you get two rewards for doing it.
I tend to watch Anime while I'm EV training so my mind isn't completely focused on the game. Just enough to keep trace of what I'm doing. That way your mind isn't stuck on fighting Shinx all day long. There are all kind of tips to keep yourself entertained. Just need to figure out what works for you.
You don't have to look for perfect IVs unless you really want to. Could always just focus on Nature and Egg moves.

Hypnosis was originally 60% back from the Gen 3 games. In D/P, the accuracy was raised to 70%, and in the Gen 4.5 games, it was lowered back to 60%.

I'm just glad none of my Pokemon have Hypnosis/are in Diamond. Cause they're all going to SS when I beat Red. Which is also the point at which I plan to start using the Pokeathlon and PokeWalker.

I'm just glad none of my Pokemon have Hypnosis/are in Diamond. Cause they're all going to SS when I beat Red. Which is also the point at which I plan to start using the Pokeathlon and PokeWalker. That is a good point...I mean, I like moves with high accuracy, so I know that they'll hit. I'll trade 5 points of power for 5 points of accuracy. Even increasing it to 70%, though, doesn't make me want to use it. I prefer Darkrai's Dark Void (since I use him often in-game), and I've never really seen the standard Spore very often. Of course, I don't use grass types often (aside from Sceptile), so I don't know everything. Speaking of that, I have fulfilled most of the things on my little checklist that I posted in the HG/SS countdown thread. All that's left is to nab Latios, Kyogre on HG, and Rayquaza for the Legendary Checklist, meanwhile I'll train up my Electric type team and possibly take on the battle frontier. Oh, and I'm trying to nab all of the Gym Leader's numbers (only Blue to go) and get photographs w/Darkrai with 'em (Though I'll use Manaphy for Misty). And I'll keep at the Pokeathlon periodically and hopefully get a battle with someone on this guild in the future...Man, I can't say I'm not trying, but using the library hasn't gotten me far...

Hypnosis/Plotting Ninetales was on one of my team rosters, before the accuracy drop. Until I find my Diamond, it looks like that strategy's been benched. sweatdrop
A shame, too. Sleep is a status that a lot of Pokémon have access to (via Lovely Kiss, Grasswhistle, Sing, Yawn, Sleep Powder, Hypnosis, and Spore), and the accuracy boost gave players a chance to experiment with a status normally only competitively used by Breloom, Smeargle, and Parasect. Players jumped on this new opportunity in Diamond and Pearl, as it finally gave us the chance to unlock the amazing potential of such a relatively unabused status. Hypnosis was fun to stick on the likes of Milotic, Ninetales, and other Pokémon who were fast enough to get the jump on others, and appreciated the extra turn it bought them. Set ups were a blast, even if Sleep Clause was in effect.
Looks like players abused it too much, though. I figure that's the only reason why the accuracy was dropped again.
Just hypothesizing.
Edit: I'm well aware that Sleep Powder has higher accuracy, but think of how many Pokémon have access to Hypnosis, from Rapidash to Purugly. If I'm not mistaken, Sleep Powder is only learnable by Grass and Bug Pokémon. Accessibility > Accuracy, in this particular scenario. 3nodding

I noticed the whole Hypnosis losing accuracy from D/P to Platinum/HG/SS thing in my Platinum. Let's say somebody fights a player using Platinum while using Diamond themself, both players have a pokemon with Hypnosis. Would both players go back to 60 accuracy or up to 70? Or would they both keep the same accuracy of the game they are playing in? I have no clue... confused
