She wouldn't say, but her paws were starting to hurt. The pads on her feet were not as tough as one who had spent a lot of time walking. The Clan territory was relatively small and since she was a huntress she only really exerted herself when taking down prey with her group or on her trips to the borders to see if any rogues had happened past.
Now, her paws were feeling the strain of a couple of days walking and she was suddenly eager to reach their destination so that she might dip her paws in the water to ease them.
The first sign that they were close was the change in the air. It smelled different and it tingled at her senses, almost teasing her. It reignited her desire to see the ocean for the first time. To meet with Taku's family and then to return to tell her family all about it. But she didn't want it to end with this.
She wanted to travel again and she wondered what her new best friend would say if she asked him to come with her on another adventure.

"We're here," Taku announced quite suddenly, with a grin as he paused in his stride, "Well, we're at the borders. How's it feel, taking your first steps in the Bahari'mtoto?" he joked with a wider grin as he himself made one exaggerated footstep, before hopping fully into the sea-pride's territory.
"C'mon, we'll probably be met by a guard or something. The dens are this way, though."
He lead the way forwards, fairly certain of the direction. He'd been here twice before now, so he was starting to get the hang of things.
In the distance, Laka might have seen a small shape, darting about in a hundred and one different directions...

She felt a thrill of excitement at his declaration and purred, the sound humming merrily in her chest. "Exciting!" She didn't know fear and she trusted Takuma too much to ever think they could be in any danger. This was the home of his family. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing of course!
"Will the guard ask us questions?" She asked. "And stand in the way all tough-like!" She smiled and at that moment her eyes spied that movement up ahead.
"Taku! Taku, what's that up there?" She slowed and reached up a paw to point in the direction - or attempt to since the movement seemed erratic and was hard to trace."

Takuma smiled - it was nice, to see her so excited. Her question about the guard threw him a bit, the lion frowning a little, "He might ask a few, but I know enough to get us through. If not, we can fetch mom and she'll confirm we're safe." he answered with a nod, and a wider smile. "They're not that strict here, they just make sure no-ones going to cause trouble."
As Laka indicated something up ahead, Taku narrowed his eyes, trying to see what it was. She had asked a very good question - what was that? But as the shape suddenly stopped, then veered towards them quite suddenly, his expression softened to a grin. "Uhh...I think that's my brother."
Caspian had spotted the shapes in the distance, and as the wind changed had been enveloped by the very familiar stence of his older brother. His FAVOURITE older brother! Taku was more fun even than Feana, and to have him come visit was a treat indeed! And so, of course the young cub darted off towards his older brother, with loud squeals and cries.
"TAKUTAKUTAKUTAKUTAKUTAKU!!"

She nodded, glad to hear there wouldn't be trouble. Besides, they were both way too cute to be thought to be criminals! She had her cute face and, well, Taku had a cute face, too! Trustworthy indeed!
She blinked at his response to what was up ahead. "Your brother, really?" Wow, what luck! "That's great, Taku! He found us!"
She skipped ahead a little, pausing as the small male came darting towards them, calling out his brother's name with wild excitement. How cute was he! And so much more energetic than her own little siblings!!
"He seems very excited to see you, Taku." She grinned, dropping back alongside him.
"Helloooo!" She called in response, waiting patiently for the two siblings to be reunited before she said anymore.

"Yeeeah..." he responded, cheeks flushing a little pink as he took a few steps forwards to meet his younger brother with a wide grin. "I don't come by often, and I play rough-and-tumble games with them, so I'm the fun brother." he explained with a grin, crouching down to greet the paler cub.
"Hey Cas!"
Caspian ran straight into his older brother's waiting paws, snuggling up in his big-lion mane. The youngster purred softly, giggling as he pawed at Taku's chin and face. "Takutakutaku! I missed you!"
It didn't take the bright cub long to realize they weren't alone, however. He peeked over Taku's shoulder at Laka, before leaning in to his brother, whispering in his ear, "Who's the strange-looking lady?"

"The fun brother?" That was cool. She wondered what her little siblings thought of her? She was fun, right? Well...maybe not. She didn't really know. "That's a good title to have, Taku."
She watched as the cub dashed towards them, closing the gap and into his older brother's paws. It was lovely, this family reunion. Laka adored her family and seeing that those values were mirrored in other parts of the world really touched her heart.
She tipped her head as the cub leaned in to whisper to his brother...about her? He had glanced her way just before...
"I'm Laka!" She chirped. "You're brother is showing me the world!" A bit of an exaggeration, but it sounded cool, right?

Taku nuzzled his nose into Caspian's fur with a rumbling purr, his way of saying hello. He frowned as Caspian leaned in to whisper, before nudging him with a paw, a wide grin on his face. "Hey, don't be rude!"
He stood up, leaving Caspian on the floor, turning to face Laka and nudging Caspian towards her. "This is Laka. I'm, uh...well, yeah, showing her the world. We're going on an adventure."
Laka? He squeaked softly as Taku nudged him towards the strange lady, wide eyes looking up at her. He gave a slight nod as a polite greeting, before shuffling back behind Taku's front leg again, chewing on it.
"An ad-wen-tuuur? Cwan I cw-ome!?" he mumbled through his mouthful of Taku-leg, wide eyes shining with excitement.

Rude? Had the cub been rude? Maybe about her? She blinked, unsure how to react to that, and partly curious to as what he had done. Either way, the cub was a cub and couldn't really be blamed. She was a stranger in his home, after all.
She nodded eagerly as her friend confirmed what she had said and laughed as the cub - who had seemed so excitable and confident before - now had become shy.
She lowered herself so she wasn't towering over him so much and smiled widely. "So you want to be an adventurer like your brother?" She asked.

"No, you can't come," Taku stated, with a shake of his head, nudging his younger brother again, "You're too little. When you're older I'll take you on an adventure too, 'kay?" he offered, with a warm smile. A second nudge to his brother, this time in the direction of the pride.
"C'mon, we're looking for Mom, Where is she?"
"Yw-," he started, before removing himself from Taku's leg with a grin - the same grin Taku always gave, "Yeah, I'm gonna grow up to be juuuuuust like Taku!"
At the mention of their mother, Caspian frowned thoughtfully, "Uhhhh...I dunno. Probably with Kaja?"

"I'm sure you will, Cas!" She could certainly imagine him growing into a similar lion as his brother, what with all that energy and curiosity. She wondered if this was what Taku was like when he was little?
She tipped her head to glance between the two siblings as they discussed the whereabouts of Taku's mother, feeling somewhat nervous and excited about meeting them. Well, if Taku and his little brother Cas was anything to go by, then the rest of the family were going to be just as wonderful.
"Is that far?" She asked, wondering just how far into the pride lands they were.

"Kaja?" Taku repeated, before nodding with a small smile. He was glad his mother had found someone, she deserved it. Turning to Laka, he gave a lop-sided grin, shaking his head. "Nope, not far. Just over that hill there is where the dens are, then the beach is just beyond that. She'll either be in her den or on the beach, I expect."
Caspian glanced from Taku to Laka, then back again, then back to Laka yet again with a grin imitating Taku's.
"Oh, Mama said she'd be on the beach!"

She smiled, moving up to stand next to Taku and nodding. "Okay! Let's go!" She was eager to meet Taku's mother, for surely she would be a wonderful lioness for bringing up such a wonderful lion such as he.
She felt to attached to him already, drawn to his enthusiasm for life and his boundless energy. He was much like her, but more wise to the world where as she had been kept veiled from it.
But not anymore. Not after this.

"Okay then! C'mon Cas."
Leading the way over the dune, Takuma kept a steady pace. The reached the dens without much consequence, but after checking his mother's den and not finding her there, he indicated the direction of the beach. "She must be down there. C'mon!"
He broke into a sprint, turning it into a game as he raced down towards the beach, grinning and laughing the whole way.
Caspian raced after Takuma, showing him where his mother's den was. However, when Taku indicated the beach, Cas grumbled. "Noooo, I'm gonna stay here! I'm gonna go find Ibura, he said he ate a clam!"
And suddenly, the young cub was gone.

She broke into a run, giving chase after Taku and finding suddenly that she felt so alive. Here she was in a foreign land, away from home and those she had grown up with. All she had was Taku and herself. The ground beneath her paws had maybe never been set foot upon by one of her own clan before.
She raised her head up into the wind, felt it blowing through her fur and revitalise her. She breathed in that salty air, increasing the length of her strides so that she was bounding rather than loping.
And when she opened her eyes she saw the sea again, expanding out for as far as the eye could go. And how she fell in love with it. With its scent and music and beauty. She could understand why lions lived here, to be greeted by that view everyday.
She found herself laughing with joy and as she did so, she moved to try and catch up with her friend.
