Azzo got there just before sun down. Just before the monsters came out to play. He looked around steadily before seeing if the library was locked.

Azzo was knocking on the door, locked or not he wasn't going in when it was closed without an actual invite. Hoping someone would open the door, that someone being Mr. Darrow, who said he could swing by anytime he wanted. There were a few days left before Azzo's parents would be in town. The boy desperately wanted to find the book he was looking for before then.

He was doubting he'd find it though, he'd been through the hypnotism section, he had started on the psychology section. But so far there were no books by Alexander Crowley.

Tony was at his desk, doing some paper work for the acquisitions that had come in over the week. He often put the forms and things off for as long as he could, catching up on late nights in when he just didn't want to go home. Tonight, for one reason or another, was one of those nights.

Despite admonishment from Edward at their last meeting. Tony was sitting on his very comfortable couch. He was relaxed, arm resting comfortably on his chest, sitting in its sling with no weight bearing down on his shoulder. He had a clip board and a pen, sitting so the former could rest on his knees while he wrote with his right hand. It was sloppy, but he was adjusting because he was usually left handed.

Looking up when he heard the knock, he dragged himself from the couch. Wandering to the doors, he spotted Azzo and recognized him immediately, remembering that he had offered to allow the boy into the library if he was ever having a rough night, or needed a place to crash. Walking over to open the door, not wearing any shoes and looking fairly sleepy, he let the boy in.

"Azzo! What can I do for you?" He asked, stepping back to let him in.

Azzo sighed when he was let in taking a look outside, like he was double checking for something dangerous, at least they hadn't come out yet. And walked inside. "Sorry for bothering you Mr. Darrow. I have a book I really need to find." He said looking a bit shameful that he'd come at such a late hour. But with his parents coming into town so suddenly, he needed something comforting if it existed at all.

"I just need to finish searching the psychology section..." He looked at Tony with a unsure grin, "You don't mind?" He asked, "I can leave if you do..."

He hated imposing, imposing was impolite. However, having a lack of control of situations were also not on Azzo's list of polite things. Reading his grandfathers words would at least calm him down. He should probably explain why, but he was leaving out the details for now. Mainly because his brain wasn't completely functioning on the small reasons of why and what not.

Tony shook his head, not looking troubled. He pulled the door shut so it locked behind Azzo and no one else could come in. Not that he expected anyone else to be out and about at this hour, and certainly not looking for books, but he couldn't be too careful.

"No, it's perfectly alright. I did say you can come over whenever you wanted, didn't I? Don't worry about it."

He offered Azzo a reassuring smile, patting him on the shoulder as he walked by him, back toward the Circulation area. He went behind the front desk, sitting down with a sigh.

"What book are you looking for?" he asked, turning the computer back on. He'd help the boy look it up if he needed to, since that was his job anyway. Even if he was off the clock at the moment.

Azzo smiled and nodded, "Thanks." He said as he followed the older man to the circulation area.

Azzo paused, "Well see that's the thing, it's suppose to be by my Grandfather, Alexander Crowley. He was a rather popular, for where we lived, psychological hypnotist back when he was living."

Azzo paused, "But I'm not sure if he ever finished it or if it is even under his name." He'd been looking through the rows and rows of books, "It's not in the hypnotism section unless it's checked out. If it exists..."

Azzo grinned slightly seeming a bit proud, "I've been going through the Sections since Jada showed me where they were. There's some interesting books on psychology itself. I put them back where I got them from as I went. Mainly to keep you guys from having to restock a whole section or two."

((PS. In case you were wondering I checked with Rose, she said it was fine for Azzo's grandfather to have a book out. ^^ ))

"Ah, well," Tony grinned, listening to Azzo tell his story, "we have some preventative measures for dealing with people who take out a lot of books from the shelves, but don't plan to actually check them out. There are green areas in the book shelves where such books can be placed: usually we prefer that to patrons trying to reshelve things, because sometimes they don't know how to follow the system."

He was a bit sleepy, so he was speaking with some ease. He didn't guard himself, but since he wasn't speaking about anything insulting or terrible he didn't see the point. Librarians didn't like it when people who weren't librarians messed with their books. Surprise.

"I can look up the book for you, if you like. If we have anything under his name, it shouldn't be difficult to find."

The computer hummed and he typed through a few log in screens before he had the check out system opened. He then searched the records for a Crowley, Alexander, and one book popped up. Turning the screen so Azzo could read it, he watched the younger man thoughtfully.

"Is that what you're looking for? It hasn't been checked out in years, according to the record, so it should be there if you look. A bit obscure, the call number doesn't seem to be with the other books on hypnotism."

Azzo shrugged, "I pay attention to where I get things from." He also pulled out a small packet of little post it notes. And smiled, "These help some too." Azzo said, "Better than bending pages or forgetting where something was."

He glanced over the screen when he saw the book, hum. "It might be, I'd have to get a gander inside of it to be sure."

He listened to Tony speak, "He was a rather funny old man." Azzo added, after Tony mentioned it was obscure and not with the other hypnotism books.

"That's still in the same place though right? Or near them?" He hoped he hadn't been going through the books in that section with it having been on another floor.

"Post-it notes," Tony laughed, looking at the little packet the boy produced, "a librarian's best friend, I admit. I much prefer when students and patrons use those for notes, rather than trying to write in the books." He frowned at that, too many people doing things like that. Or writing on the books and ink seeping through.

Either way, it made Tony unhappy.

"Near," Tony said, pointing to the call number. "I believe you were looking on shelf over, but it's the same general area. I'm sure you'll be able to find it, unless you would like my help? It's not like I'm doing anything else," he laughed again, in a good mood despite having been near napping before Azzo had knocked.

Doing paper work, he amended in his head. He had been doing paper work, not sleeping.

Azzo nodded, "They're easier to keep track of too." He said looking up at the stairs.

"I don't mind, unless you just need the exercise." Azzo smiled at the good fortune that the book did exist. Making sure to jot it down on a post-it note if Tony left him to his own vices.

He stretched, "I'm interested in seeing what the old man wrote. Since I didn't have time to learn a lot from him."

Azzo still couldn't help but wonder how it'd gotten finished.

Tony nodded, smiling. It must be interesting, finding a book by one's relative and getting to read it for the first time. He couldn't remember something like that happening before, a patron checking out something that a family member had written. He knew folks who told him they knew the author, but he took those stories with grains of salt.

"Alright," he said, nodding slowly, "how about you go and take a look, and I'll just wait down here for you to come back. If you want to check it out, of course. Feel free to take your time."

He didn't want to intrude on it, knowing how awkward it could be to read in someone elses company. Anyway, Tony had no purpose to go, the kid knew how to navigate the sections and wouldn't get lost, at least the librarian assumed so. It was so quiet in the library that he could probably just yell and Tony would be able to hear him and come help.

"I'll be down here if you need me."

He indicated to the couch, since he had paper work to do. Hopefully he didn't fall to sleep while Azzo was off looking. Of course, if Tony sat down and was given five minutes there was a good chance he would nod off.

Azzo nodded and headed off to run up to the third floor. "I'll let you know... I don't think I'll get lost. If I do I can walk up and down till I find it."

He said with a chuckle, glancing over to the couch. Azzo didn't really care if anyone else was around when he was reading, as long as he could keep tabs on what he was reading.

Azzo flitted up the stairs to grab the book counting the shelves as he went. Looking for the right area.

Tony watched the young man go, sighing. He hoped the book was there, that it wasn't mysteriously 'missing'. Sometimes people had a habit of taking books out and miss-shelving them so only they could find, which was averted by shelf reading from the staff but so few people actually liked doing that task, and there were so many shelves, that sometimes it took a while to find a book that had been miss-shelved. On purpose or on accident by the staff.

Leaving him to his search, Tony went back to the couch to wait. He sat down, then stretched out across it. It was plush and had a long seat, comfortable enough to lay on without any body parts hanging over the side or the end. He picked up his clipboard but that just ended up resting on his chest, a pen in his hand. The pen was touching his shirt, seeping ink without Tony noticing.

Because he was almost immediately asleep.

He hadn't been getting enough sleep recently, for various reasons, and the couch offered him some brand of comfort that was apparently missing from his bed at home. Maybe it was less lonely, in some complicated way that he would never be able to explain and look like a normal person while doing so.

After a few moments, he was lightly snoring.

Azzo was searching for a while. Looking at where the book should be. Pausing, he'd travel back to the shelves where the hypnotism books had been.

Going back to a shelf over, several different shelves "over" as over could technically mean anything. He looked at the call numbers and the numbers on the books, he found where it should've been, but not where it was. Scratching the back of his head.

So now Azzo had a small problem. Does he yell for Tony and hopes the man hears him? But it's a library and that's not in the rules no matter how you look at it, despite the time. Or does one walk their self back down stairs get the man and come all the way back...

Azzo thought for a few more moments looking around the areas where the book could be, before opting for the more lazy route. "MR DARROW!" He yelled, "I CANT FIND IT!!!!"

Waiting to see if the man would respond, he wondered how sound proof libraries really were.

Tony was deeply asleep, dreaming distantly about something creepy. He wasn't aware enough or deeply embedded in his dream state yet to really understand it, but it made his muscles tighten and his skin balmy with sweat. His heart rate was picking up. This seemed to be happening more often than not, though he had not yet managed to remember anything from in his sleeping mind.

This time was no different, though he was interrupted in a very singular way.

A voice broke into his head and he jumped suddenly, falling off the sofa and straight to the floor. He looked around wildly, thinking there was a patron at the desk, but there was no one. He struggled to his feet, smoothing his clothes once he was up.

It took him a moment to realize the voice was an echo from upstairs. Azzo must be having some problems.

"I'll be right there!" He called, though it was probably not loud enough to be heard. He moved to the stairs, bounding up and heading to where he imagined Azzo would be, remembering the start of the call number.

He was a bit out of breath when he finally reached the young man, canting his head to the side. "What's the problem?"

Azzo had not meant to wake the man up. He stood there hands behind his back waiting to see if the man came. Just because he looked like a pup didn't mean he had the super sensitive hearing they did.

He looked apologetically at the older man who was out of breath. "It's not here." He said softly pointing to where, logically it should've been. Unless he'd not been around these books long enough to figure out the codes. He looked up and down the shelves. "I double checked a few other places as well... but I didn't see it."

He gave a slight troubled look, looking back to the stick it he'd scribbled the number on.
