No, this is not your average, "COME OUT TO EVERYONE!!!" thread. Personally, I don't understand why some furries think that they HAVE to tell people they are a furry. You don't have to. Being a furry is like being a model train collector... It is a hobby. Nothing more. It is not really that important that you have to tell everyone you know about it. I've been seeing a lot of support threads for people who have come out as a furry and I think its really just stupid. Don't let your hobby ruin your life. It's not that important. its fun, yes, but not something you should shape your life around.

I've never really understood that either, it puts undue pressure on you and it can put pressure on your friends too. I have a hard enough time telling people that I'm a therian, because that is so personal. So I definitely don't want to make things harder.
